B & B Campers & Rvs - Leaves that were carefully replaced after the awning was opened. Thoughtful!

I'd love to be writing a glowing review, because it seems like Cheify, the owner, is a great guy,…read morevery friendly and personable. Alas, calling the work they did half-assed is an insult to people who only have half an ass. Slipshod, shoddy, indifferent, incomplete - these are the words that best describe their "efforts." To start - the good: Chiefy came to our house, took a look at our trailer (which had been sitting for five years) and said we had a hole in the roof from a fallen branch and he said it would cost about $2,000 - $2,500 to fix. Reader, it did not - it ended up costing $3,000, or as he put it "Just what I said it would cost." Ummm, what?? We explained we were going full time and wanted EVERYTHING checked out COMPLETELY because again, we were going to be living in this thing and repairs would be exponentially more difficult on the road. He said he'd test "all the systems," and we felt really confident that we were in good hands. In the end, he fixed the roof, installed new tires and wheel bearings, and flushed the winterization crap out of the system. So much for the good. When we got the trailer back, five days before we had to leave, we looked things over and immediately discovered the awning wouldn't open. When we called, he said that "his guys" had opened it a little to get to the roof part. What's really interesting about this is that "his guys" also took the time to replace the pine needles that had been caught in the awning brackets, as seen in the photo. We really appreciated that they took the time to make it look like nothing had been done with the awning when in fact - oh, wait, yeah, nothing was done with the awning. Another thing we'd told him about were the stabilizer jacks. The rear set was having trouble extending and may have been bent. We said we wanted those checked and replaced if needed. His response "his guys" said they went up and down fine. Well, they must have the magic touch because no one since has been able to get them to go ALL THE WAY down. Maybe "his guys" partly extended them and called it all good? Next up - the runaway trailer brake actuator cable was frayed to the point of failure (again, see pictures). Apparently checking this is not a part of "checking all the systems." Side note - "his guys" left the light on the tongue jack on, killing the brand new batteries and necessitating a jump before we could even hitch the trailer up, so we know they were at least in the vicinity of the cable at some point in time. On to the AC - apparently another system that's not a part of the systems that get checked - it is continually short cycling and needs a tune up, per the other RV tech we spoke with to fix the issue, who explained the problem was that the coils needed to be cleaned. Next, the slide outs - the larger of the two squeaks badly when extending and retracting. Maybe it just needs some lube (which we bought) or maybe it's something more, like some misalignment? Who knows - apparently the slideouts are not one of the "systems" tested. Finally, a minor issue - the grey and black tanks were supposedly flushed as part of the whole de-winterizing. When we connected the sewer hose at the first RV park (after using the bathroom a couple of times), we discovered - surprise! - they didn't shut the valve, so some lovely raw sewage dumped out. All this is particularly frustrating since we talked to him quite a bit about how we were going full-time, and one would expect that a mechanic, knowing that, would be particularly thorough. This was clearly not the case. Also, while "all systems" were supposedly checked, we never got a checklist or anything like you get for an auto inspection detailing what was done and what needed to be fixed. We just got a bill for the work that was done, and faulty assurances that everything had been checked. Like I said, he seems like a great guy, and I find it hard to believe he is lying deliberately. Maybe "his guys" are telling him things that aren't true, but without any kind of checklist and accountability, we'll never know. If you have a specific issue that needs to be fixed, the work that was done seems high quality, and he had pictures that they took during the process. For general tune ups and inspections though, I would definitely go somewhere else. Caveat emptor. TL;DR - We asked for the trailer to be THOROUGHLY checked because we're going to be living in it for a year. We got adequate work on some of the things we specifically asked about. We cannot say anything beyond that was actually checked, despite claims to the contrary, because we are continually discovering problems that would have been caught by a real inspection. EDIT - Both of the small exhaust fans in the bedroom and bathroom are also not working.

Let me begin by saying that I'm a tough sell. I do my research, and I have high expectations. That…read moresaid, this was my first camper purchase, and I had much to learn. The staff at Exit 1 RV were never pushy, and unlike every other place I contacted, they NEVER hounded me with phone calls, emails, texts, etc. Not once. Months after purchasing my camper, I continue to receive spam calls from big chain outfits I originally looked into (but didn't buy from), wooed by their flashy online prices. I'm a teacher, so please learn this from me: 1-The great prices that chain stores offer online exclude pretty much...EVERYTHING. Exit 1 RV includes it ALL. Believe them. 2-THINK about where you will get your camper serviced. They all need service, just like your car. If you get a GREAT chain store deal (see #1, it isn't so great), or FB marketplace deal, where will you get it serviced? Think ahead. Exit 1 provides great local service. 3-The personal touch. When we picked up our camper, my husband and I stopped for coffee first. We spent hours, led by Exit 1 staff, leisurely going through our camper and asking EVERY question, flicking EVERY switch, moving EVERY hose, learning by doing. Do you think that happens when you buy a discount "clearance" camper online? No. We weren't rushed at all. We were encouraged to keep asking! This morning, 2 days after bringing the camper home, I opened my mailbox to find a hand written thank you note from Kelly, who guided us through the sales process. What more can I say, except, stop looking for the lowest number online, and head to Exit 1, where you CAN get a great deal, and you'll have a great experience as well.

I was in the automotive service business for 41 years and never have i had to write such a bad…read morereview. However i feel consumers should know. I purchased a 2019 travel trailer from tcs rv. The financing went smooth, but it stops there. I feel i got a decent deal, but when the sales person came back and said there is a $250.00 "get ready fee" that they charge on every rv i felt i was being lied to. The sales person seemed to have short term memory thru the whole sales process, but tried making up for it by offering free trinkets. I informed the sales person that the trailer would be going on a 3000 mile road trip right after delivery and asked to please check things over a little more thorough. The dealership was given 5 days to get the trailer ready and a appointment was set to do the walk thru and install equalizer hitch on my truck. I showed up for the appointment, but no sales person. A young service technician was given the task, but failed miserably. The sales person did show up at the end and apologized. The first thing that i noticed was the trailer was never cleaned inside or out. Again i was met with apologies. I do have to praise the two service technicians who installed the equalizer hitch in the pouring rain. propane tanks were never filled. The first night out my wife noticed that all the water in the sink leaked down into the cabinet below because the sink drain had never been tightened. The second night out while dry camping we found that the water pump would run continuously and nothing but air came out of the faucets. This meant no washing of dishes or taking a shower. We really like the trailer and fortunately for me i am mechanically inclined enough to address these issues. What was the $250.00 get ready fee for? I feel the sales person said what ever he could to make the sale and after financing was approved did not follow up on anything. All i got was excuses and apologies. If you are thinking about buying from this company beware. The best thing would be to buy elsewhere.

Did a lot of browsing, salesmen did ask if we needed assistance, not at that time we told him. Then saw a used one with a price on it off to the side so we checked it out. Locked so we peeked in the windows and opened one pullout to check the canvas. Some lady comes over and asks us if we had any questions. Then told us these were all sold and we were just in someone's camper. What? None were marked sold. Drive to this side lot NOT roped off. How was I to know? Also, it is was locked, we never went in. Kind of rude. I felt like I had to defend myself by explaining I was just looking and didn't know I was in the sold section. Yeah, not buying from the them.
