Well if you do business with Key R-D Trailers ( and docks and lifts) you will be taking a trip back to the 60's as they are men of their word and I only wish I could find more business to do with them. I considered​, reluctantly​, the Dock Doctor and they said it would take weeks and wanted $13,500 + delivery + installation for the same thing I purchased from Key for $8991 incl. freight! The brand is Hewitt which is the king in Minnesota Land of 10,000 lakes and our birthplace​. Hewitt has an excellent reputation and most would say it is as good as what Dock Doctor carries if not better. So I decided on Key from Plattsburg who were friendly knowledgeable and I didn't have to deal with an attitude like you get from those that overcharge​ and underdeliver! Eight (8) days after I ordered it Howard and his wife were assembling it on my beach in 90-degree​​ weather from 1 pm​ to 9:30 on a Saturday. They survived the sun, the heat, the dark, ​and mosquitos and never complained and with both in their 60's I can tell you that there are few 20 something​ that could keep up with them especially without complaining! Let me assure you that these guys are the real deal and I would​ not​ hesitate​ in buying anything from them and in fact next spring I will be ordering additional extensions for my dock! I Waited a long time to write this as I was trying to give them a chance but now I am just fed up,…read moreMy new camper came with a ton of problems and most should have been caught in set up and walkthrough as a new camper owner I was expecting this and knowledgeable guides, The stable jack was bent the fridge door latch was improper because the frame was not set right and broke after it's the first use, the spare tire was the wrong one so when I had to use it I could not. Building of the unit I cannot blame them for and all work was under warranty but a lot of things should have been caught before pick up. The guy had no knowledge of the solar system and could not answer questions I had. I had to bring the unit back at least 6 times for warranty work which was done however they have a deep phony of returning calls or calling you back to update you or tell you work has been done, after trip #6 work was still not completed and the work that was was sloppy and messy caulking splattered on the child's finger painted it all over it or wiped the excess off wherever leaving smears of caulking all over, Still did not fix an issue that was written on the work order. I was never told the work was completed as I was promised I would get a call back In the six times I had service done all under warranty I never received the promised call back. My advice is to make sure and double check EVERYTHING was done correctly as it is hit or miss some things I had to get refixed as they were not done correctly or they did the cheapest simplest thing they could instead of taking the time to do it right the first time, IE straightening a bent jack screw instead of just replacing it, or fixing the frame instead of just replacing the handle that does not fix the issue. It just seems they do not pay attention to detail by not reading the full work order and miscommunication simple fixes if they just slow down. The staff is friendly enough they just need some training on what they sell and slow down, I get it is busy and staffing could be better but still no excuse. they can do better.

We bought our 2020 grand design series 150…read moreused from Pete's in April 2024 ,looking back we were sold a crazy bill of goods they charged $735.to prep$699.doc fee the sold us on a service contract that not worth wiping you butt with , all totaled $33,067., We planned on traveling that year in the fall to Fl. but plans changed so put it in storage .Ffwd 2025 now in Florida. Had a complaint initially when picking up the unit in May of 2024 about the door closing hard was told that it was normal for that type of door .( not !) Found out that the door is actually sprung because of the lippert stairs installed wrong ,the shower rollaway curtain installed upside-down so to latch it we have to have someone pull it closed and secure it from the outside of shower . When contacting Pete's they said call the service contract company to see if they're covered . Hmm. So I paid a $735. to have a complete prep.service done and these KEY issues were not addressed . Also the doc fee was a waste of $$ still had to go to dmv to get it all transfered . Believe me I only needed the bills of sales and title signed off from for a new title in our name . Oh by the way looking back we now know we over paid for this USED unit .Thinking of selling but we'd LOSE 10k for what it's actually value is today .So if your looking to buy stand your ground and negotiate those ridiculous fees away ! And check to see what the unit would sell for on the open market ! We even went as far as seeking a trade in value from a national resaler Camping World, and General RV. I was simply hooked on this model and they were the only Dealer nearby. This Spring I received a safety recall notice and the Dealer would/could not offer me a warranty fix till mid July....what? HALF the Summer is over, and after all, this is a 'SAFETY" recall repair. While I do not like to badmouth anyone, their careless stance for me or my safety was very sad. I have thought about returning it before my warranty expires. Thank you for your expertise and goodness Max.
