We went here after hanging out in Broadway and I really wouldn't suggest this place if you're coming to printer's alley. My friends and I wanted to sing a pretty simple karaoke song. The staff kept favoring people who came after us, even after we politely gave money to play our song. When my friend came up to ask what happened to our song on the playlist, the staff became super rude and defensive. In a place like Nashville with many great music places, this is the last place I would suggest, especially if they're rude to paying customers. read more

I went to Ms. Kelli's Karaoke Bar in Nashville with a girlfriend while we were in town for work -- just doing a low-key little bachelorette night because I'm also engaged. While a man we didn't know was talking to my friend, he suddenly reached up the back of my skirt and assaulted me. As horrifying as that moment was, the reason I'm writing this review isn't to warn anyone away -- it's to praise the staff. They acted immediately and decisively. They saw what happened, stepped in without hesitation, made sure I was safe, and worked closely with the police officers who came to take statements. Their professionalism and empathy were extraordinary. Because of how seriously they took the situation and how supported I felt, I actually came back the next night. I wanted to be somewhere where I knew the staff were alert, compassionate, and fully aware of what goes on in their space. Ms. Kelli's isn't just a fun karaoke bar -- it's a place where the people in charge genuinely care about protecting their guests. They turned one of the worst moments of my life into a reminder that there are still good people in the world who will stand up and do the right thing. Worst bar service I've EVER received in my life. My first time to this bar and I was excited to be there but the rude bartender ruined my time there. I asked for a drink she said they didn't make it, okay no problem, I asked for a different one and gave me a nod with in attitude, I asked for a drink menu again a nod with an attitude, didn't even offer any other drinks or suggestions on what they did have. We went out after a company event because a coworker loves Karaoke. First time going on a Saturday night and it was packed wall to wall. Blame it on the Nashville Predators win. No cover charge but must be 21 to enter. It is located downtown in Printer's Alley. There are several T.Vs on the wall so you can sing, read, and dance along if you choose. $5 a song and it doesn't guarantee your name will be called but, you may have a better shot if you tip the DJ. (Wink, wink) The song selections are pretty good that the crowd gets super hyped. I haven't heard a song that I absolutely despised. This is probably one of the only karaoke bar in the printers alley. It's cool but you will have to wait for a long time for your turn to sing. Drinks are reasonable however until you see mostly ice in your cup. The waitress will get annoyed if you don't buy bottled water instead of free tap water. It's definitely a tourist trap I would not recommend coming here unless you have absolutely nothing else to do. read more

Love this spot! A divey gem in Printers Alley with karaoke. Sign me up! It gets busy here - so arrive early if possible. Karaoke is $5 a song. Typically the wait times for your name to get called aren't long, they fit everyone in pretty quickly. They also have a pool table in the back. It's a mixed crowd, never know who you will end up meeting here. I will note that I did smell smoke when I was there for the first time. The second time, I didn't really smell it. But if the smell bothers you, then maybe just be aware of that when you go. They are also not strict on masks - so if that is a deal-breaker, I would go somewhere else. But I love going here and doing some karaoke. It's a fun spot and I always end up meeting cool people here. read more

Ok Ms. Kelli.... Been trying to talk my kids into taking me to Ms. Kelli's. For awhile. Love Karaoke. Finally went in Friday night got there about 11:30. Kids and friends beat us there and were seated at a table directly in front of the bar. Gonna sing me some karaoke. In our group are some very good singers. Got to the table and they told me they couldn't sing. My first thought was there was a large rotation and not enough time. That wasn't the case. The host told them no ballads, thought that was strange, as a girl was just starting Black Velvet. I had heard that Ms. Kelli's did not like to play country music. So I decided I wasn't gonna pay 5 bucks and be told what I couldn't sing. Friend sang a rocking country tune and we left. I thought the bar staff was great and friendly. The drinks were good but small. The security at the front was good. Great bar. Now I came in knowing that you allowed smoking in the back. Where were people smoking all around us. I am sure it is hard to police. I was also expecting to pay 5 bucks to sing. So I can't complain. I have paid to sing before, a buck in a karaoke club in Hawaii. Seems there is a bit of confusion if you are a karaoke bar or a dance club. No one was dancing and the energy was low. Oh and the sound system was great. Your DJ/KJ didn't have much of a personality. So I will keep looking for a place to sing and listen to karaoke. read more

I came here with a group of 10 for a participating Bar Crawl Event on NYE. We uber all the way there and walk to Kellis. They say they are not participating in the Crawl despite being on all websites and ads for the event. I tell the manager we are going to leave and she physicallly grabs my arm to prevent me from leaving and says we can get in without paying the cover. Ok. Then the bouncer at the door told our friend her temporary ID was illegal (she had other govt documents to help confirm). So our group all decides to leave. I went to this bar last weekend excited to sing karaoke, as I had been there before and had fun. Right as I walked in, I walked up to the karaoke booth and asked if they took venmo since I did not have cash to pay for my song. The man, who I now know to be Jesse, responded, "yes, we take everything. Venmo, cashapp, paypal. Hell, you could give me a blow job instead of paying." I did not laugh because I thought it was crude and a gross comment for an old man to make to a girl in her 20s. The man standing next to Jesse, who I know know is named Tim, asked me why I did not laugh at the joke. I told Tim and Jesse that I did not laugh because I don't think jokes like that referring to sexual assault are funny. Tim told me to ease up, let loose, and that women in bars made comments to him like that all the time so it was ok. I walked away and over to my friends. When I walked up to my friends, I started to get emotional and was quite honestly triggered from events in my past. I spoke to the bartender about it, and she told me that Jesse is a pervert who makes comments like this to patrons and employees all the time. She told me she hates him because he is constantly making women uncomfortable but nothing is done to stop it. A manager walked up to me at one point to ask what happened and apologize, but I quickly realized it was less of an apology, and more of making excuses for the employees, asking me not to react, and blaming me for being offended. I even voiced concern that several other members of the staff had told me that Jesse does things like this frequently and nothing is done about it. To which she responded that "she knows which people I am talking about because she saw me talking to them and they will b e dealt with." She inferred that the only employees of the bar that handled the situation correctly and made me feel better would be punished for doing so. That is absolutely insane. They should be praised and rewarded for making the situation better rather than worse, as many other employees did. At one point I decided that I did not want to sing anymore, and went to ask Jesse for my money back. He told me that he wanted to apologize, but I stopped him and said "I do not need an apology, I just want my money back so I can leave this bar." To which Jesse proceeded to yell and curse at me! He said "you F-ing millennials never want to listen to any reason or anybody but yourselves. You are going to have a real F-ing hard time in life if you continue to pull this Sh-t." I once again walked away from the situation, in disbelief that the "apology" management had told him to give me had turned into me being berated in that way. Even when I went to the bathroom, another employee approached me to interrogate me about the situation, blame me, and tell me that they were good guys. A stranger in the bathroom overheard, and came to my defense because she was angry how staff was handling this situation. To put it frankly, this situation should never have happened. Comments like that should not be made. When offensive comments are made, businesses should handle it in the exact opposite way. I should not have been sexualized. I should not have been yelled at. I should not have been cursed at. I should not have been blamed for taking offense. I should not feel guilty that the only employees who actually helped me will be vilified for doing so. None of the events that night should have happened. I would not be writing this review if the comment was met with a swift apology and correctly handled. I will not be returning to Ms. Kellys, and I will make sure that other women know what kinds of behavior is seen as acceptable there read more

We were in the area & after checking out another place that happened to be dead, we walked past this place & decided to check it out. Karaoke is not usually my favorite since let's face it people just generally sound terrible, so when I noticed it was a karaoke bar my initial reaction was to go but it was late & this was the best place we could find so we stayed. we made our way towards the back & sat by the bar, drinks had to give the cbd "thc" drinks a try .. because why not, we got a margarita , the margarita was terrible taste wise good thing we also got beers the local IPA to use as a chaser, beer was good .. margarita not so much because the taste was just so harsh. As for the environment it actually wasn't too bad, in between the karaoke singing they played regular music which was a good way to break up the singing. Decent size bar, the CBD drink was ok for the most part maybe it needs to be added to a better drink, overall we had a decent time here. read more
