Big Shotz is a Nashville bar just off Broadway. They have topless bartenders and free beer. No, that's actually not true although there is a sign that says they do (false advertising). We stopped into Big Shotz on two separate occasions because we literally had that much fun the first night. They have live music and their drinks are priced right. They also have giant syringes of Jell-O shots for 5$ each. The bartender Miami has a set of pipes on her. The girl can sing. They have live music that is entertaining. The vibe here is somewhat low key although the band is pretty darn good. Beer was priced reasonably and the staff was friendly and attentive. The band is starving for tips, so please, tip them. They're the entertainment and they don't get paid by the bar. Keep that in mind. Overall, Double Shotz is a bit of a dive bar, but it's a fun bar and it won't break the bank. While it may not be 4 stories tall and have a rooftop bar, it was a lot of fun and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Nashville. read more

Had a rough week and am thankful for the quick and friendly service at quick shots. While not always the deepest selection with liquor they make sure you feel welcomed. Have plenty of Jell-O shots, live music, and feel more than comfortable being there. From the bartender lending her amazing voice to the friendly service, you honestly couldn't find a better place to escape the craziness of Broadway but have all the experience. Dropped by on a Friday afternoon with a girl group while we were exploring Nashville. We stopped primarily because they had a woman playing music, which is actually harder to find than you think. Neve Cunnan, she was great. She played female artist lineup and it was awesome, Alannis, Janis,Joanie, 4nonBlonds etc. Good sound, we could still talk. Excellent Nashville music experience. Bartenders were super chatty and nice, also all female. They talk to us about where we are from, what we're up to this weekend, really nice. We said we would and did go back later in the evening. Got tickets for the male review. The doorman was extremely rude to our group. Got upstairs to a small room with a few tables and chairs around the room. The guys came out (not very attractive). Immediately started sitting on girls laps and grinding on them. Very low class, raunchy, cringy and overall disappointing experience. We left after 15 minutes. I can't remember that last time I drunkenly sang along to such a fun band...oh yeah, last Tuesday! Whoever played from 7 until close Saturday night 12/5 deserves like a million dollars. In the interim, healthy tips will do. They were super interactive and let me fully immerse myself in the country music experience. Slightly dirty jokes were bantered around, easy songs to sing along to, and made all of my friends feel like they were the only ones who sang to us. You is legit! DO NOT SUPPORT! After spending over $500 on a VIP section (that's wasn't VIP - $20 bottle of champagne and plastic cups) we were surprised to be treated with so little respect and common customer courtesy. One of the girls in my bachelorette group had an expired license. When this brought to the managers attention she said "I'll call the cops on you and charge you an $1000 fine if you drink." Extremely rude - she could've just said Unfortunately we can't let you in - it's against the law. But she let us in - but only after threatening us. Despite her rudeness and the threat we went in because we already paid over $500 for the vip section. The bouncer marks two big X's on the girls hand that couldn't drink and we went in. After using the bathroom and washing her hands the x's were rubbed off. None of us noticed because we were trying to have a good time, some girls bought drinks and were even throwing money at the strippers. The girl was not drinking, never took a sip and didn't plan too. After we spent more money in that very less than vip section we saw the manager and bouncer watching us. It made us very uncomfortable. At this point we were spending the most money in there - what's the problem? Shortly after the bouncer comes over and starts off by saying - I apologize for what I'm about to say... He goes on to say the manager is being a pain and wants to know why the X's are off and if they're not on the cops will get involved. And this is in the middle of their little show with their subpar strippers that look like they workout once a week. Why didn't they just politely pull the girl aside and speak to her. But they didn't - they were rude and distasteful to paying customers. We weren't in there for free!! At this point we decided to leave - the treatment we were receiving was absolutely outrageous. The male entertainers expressed that the manager was very disrespectful and this wasn't the first time that this happened. I personally tried to explain why we were upset to the manager. I told her that saying she'll call the cops to paying customers felt like a threat. She said "it wasn't a threat - it was a promise." A freaking promise - I couldn't believe it! No apologies in that lady - terrible. Absolutely disgusting. Also we were the only group of color in there...not sure if that had anything to do with how we were treated. Take a guess... However I'm keeping my promise as well and I'm making sure that people see this review before patronizing. DO NOT SUPPORT!!! Worst experience in Nashville. Do not support this place. I called to get information about one of their male performers that took advantage of me. I requested a real name in order to file a report on the incident that took place. The lady on the phone was rude, dismissive and would not help me, then proceeded to tell me to "never call here again". I came here as a new customer tonight and was sadly disappointed. There were multiple advertisements for "lowest priced drinks downtown" and "$2 draft beers and $3 bottles until 2:00 am". every time we visit Nashville we go to Big Shots because their alcohol selection is much cheaper than the rest of the places down the road. That man said I'm going to give it a 3 out of 5 because the bar itself is kind of small which fits that died of personality type of field which I kind of like butt compared to the other bars in the area it doesn't hold a candle to them. Never had a bad time at BIG SHOTZ----love the classic rock music that they are typically playing----you can get pretty hammered here if you don't watch because they always have drink specials and they are really good...the food specials are good too...the little cheese stuffed pretzel bites are freakin' awesome......they take request for songs like ac/dc and stones all the things you want to hear and sing along to.....if your looking for a good time but not the meat market scene go here---it is just old hippes and drinkers that love music hanging out and enjoying life.... read more

Be very careful with this place. Pay as you go & do not trust them running a tab with your credit card. The bartenders and waitresses are partying, doing shots non-stop which I wouldn't care about but when I get my bill and I'm completely overcharged there's a problem. I asked for a itemized bill and was told they don't do that. I asked how they kept track and she came back with a scribbled pad with lines.......we paid and left. I'll never return here. I had a GREAT time here when I was in town. A killer southern rock cover band was playing and the place was jumpin'. The crowd was excited, and everyone seemed to be having fun. The shots are really creative, and CHEAP! The beer was inexpensive as well, $2 Shiners among others. The bartenders were really friendly and speedy. Definitely my favorite bar of the evening. We bumped into Big Shotz while walking around Nashville. They had live music and it seemed to be a cool place for spend an hour or so at. When we first sat down, I noticed they had drink specials posted all over the bar. Therefore, I ordered a few rounds of drinks given the specials seemed pretty good. While the service was ok, I found extremely concerning that once I received the check, the total was way off from what it should have been compared to the advertised prices (would have loved to check the prices but I was not given an itemized receipt whatsoever)... Therefore, I tipped taking that surcharge into consideration. A few days later, when I checked the total amount charged to my credit card, I noticed that they added more tip than I had previously filled our on my credit card slip. Needless to say I attempted to contact the restaurant without success. I would avoid this place. There were way more bars that were more fun in the city which I did not have this problem with. While wandering around the chintzy Broadway/District area, walk right past Big Shotz and don't stop in. The "shotz" that they have are all pretty disgusting and taste like a hangover waiting to happen. While cheap, I just don't think it's worth it. They come in a small cup (larger than a shot glass but much smaller than a solo cup), so it's hard to enjoy your drink while also listening to the music. The venue is also not well-designed. The bar area is very small, making it difficult to get your order in. We were also trying to stand near the band and kept having to move over so staff could access the back rooms for more beer/liquor bottles. Just not a pleasant experience overall! read more

Wow. Looking for a place that played more rock music than a honky-tonk and found it. Rock-and-roll loving teenagers(who can get past the bouncer) and older will love this place. I heard AC/DC and Bob Seger mixed in with other tunes including 2 servings of Sweet Home Alabama (UA and UT were playing each other last night). There is a small dance floor that was also used for standing. The drink and food system is simple and posted in several places. The house draft (an orange-infused Shock Top) is $2, other beers $3, something else for $4, a list of "Double Shotz" is $5, and food is $6. The crowd is loud, boisterous and friendly. I would peg the crowd at less than half being local and the rest being tourists. Our group had less locals than tourists and I met people from Tampa and somewhere in OH. Totally not my scene. Came here with out of town friends who wanted to go to a hip-hop dance night. The music was good, the drinks were fairly cheap (bottled beer was all I drank anyway. I didn't have any shotz). Security at the door was a little excessive. I don't think I needed to be groped like I was being processed into prison. Pretty sure my wife isn't hiding a gun in her bra, and I'm pretty sure I don't have one in my boxers. AVOID THIS PLACE! The staff is absolutely horrible. They overcharged me and were incredibly rude when I tried to question the bill. They even got a bouncer involved, embarrassing me into just paying it. The following day my credit card company called and saw multiple charges that looked fraudulent. They advised me to cancel my account and get a new card (which I did). Too much energy was required for just a dive bar, and there are so many better spots to choose from in downtown Nashville. My friend said he knew a magical place on 2nd Ave where you could get cheap drinks and shots. Ok, let's go!! So we went to Big Shotz. I did NOT like paying cover at the door - shouldn't they have some rule that locals get in free? Oh wait, I still have my TX driver's license. Ok, tourist I am! The band was playing country and they were actually pretty good. Seemed like there was a chick singer. Apparently I was tipsy enough not to really notice. Anyway, hopefully the cover was for the band because that would be ok then. So this is a dive that has an entire menu of shots that aren't entirely uncreative or entirely overpriced. Mixed drinks were also reasonable. The bartender lass was reasonably nice and reasonably quick with the drinks but they aren't there to win any friendly awards I don't think. They also have small munchies for $4 each - we had chicken fries. Just a basket of previously frozen chicken strips that were actually perfect to soak up some of the booze. The crowd was an interesting mix of locals and tourists both of the 21 year old and the 61 year old variety. Did I see huge pink cowboy hats? Yep. Did I see drunk people stumbling and saying WOOOHOOO! Yep. And, for once, neither of them were me! I can't say I recommend this place but I can't say I don't either. Every time I'm in Nashville I loved coming here!! This was my go to bar!! Great people great music and great service prices!! This time was a little different.... I had a group of friends who I kept raving to about how much fun we have here every time we come here. Last night We were treated extremely rude by the staff and the Band. So from now on I'll just bring my friends to Kid Rock's Honky Tonk where we had a Blast paid more but every time we were there no matter how busy they were they weren't RUDE! My friends went to this bar last night for NEW YEAR'S EVE, and purchased expensive wristbands to go in and were turned away and told their real id's were fake. When they asked the bouncer to scan their REAL ID'S, they claimed they didn't have any, and sent two intoxicated girls down the street to find the literal police to get their ID's back. Ridiculous. When we walked in the place was empty except the bartender and three other people. It was dark, dank and dingy, there was writing all over the walls, smoking allowed inside, dirty and disgusting...a true dive bar. I just love dive bars for many reasons but mostly because you can still get a great drink at a cheap price. While we were able to get cheap drinks, there was barely a choice of drinks to choose from. I am hoping they just had one hell of a night the night before and sold out of everything, but either way every beer I tried to order (first tried all of the local TN brews, then my favorites) they were out of almost everything, the bartender just opened the refrigerator so I could see what they had and end the guessing game. I ended up with some basic not so great warm beer. They had a variety of shots...we tried the cherry soaked fireball $1 each, it was just what it sounds like, a cherry soaked in Fireball Whiskey. I thought it was pretty good. The live band was playing 90's cover music, he was really good and we enjoyed it, but we were there to experience the country vibe...so after our drinks we moved on.
