One of my new favorite weekend spots…read more The owner is super friendly. The staff is quick and attentive, even when the place is packed. I love the fact that they have outside seating right on the water, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful scenery to have lunch at. Everything as far as food that I've tried here has been great. There's never a question of if we're gonna get crab dip. I definitely recommend trying it. If you're just craving a snack and a couple drinks, they have a decent little charcuterie board and a few other little apps to put something on your belly. My sister and I shared a pasta and it was very good, I appreciate that the sauce didn't upset my stomach. Overall, if you want a chill weekend spot or even somewhere to eat for a business brunch, this is one of my top picks in the area. Don't pass it up if you have the time for it!!

We ended up at the Salty Siren for two reasons, one, it was recommended by one of the guides at the Henricus Historical Park as being near the Farrar's Island historical marker (ancestors) and it was on the river. The view was gorgeous. We were promptly seated at an outdoor table overlooking the water. Our server, Jodi H., greeted us with a smile and offered to get our drinks and our calamari appetizer. It was excellent. Light, crispy, fresh with a few fried jalapeños for zing. The dip served with them was really good. I ordered fried oysters, which came with authentic hush puppies (which for this southerner means no sugar!) and I ordered the vegetable of the day (steamed broccoli) to sort of make up for the "fried". My husband ordered the grilled salmon. His salad was huge and the vegetables were so fresh that I filched some of his cucumbers. His salmon was amazing. It was perfectly cooked and it was so moist and tender. We will try to return if we are ever travelling this way again. Try The Salty Siren. Even if you don't go looking for the mile maker afterwards.

We had such a fun night here celebrating dad's 30th birthday! Our server was literally the best…read moreI've ever had (but I forget her name) and the crab cakes were out of this world. She brought us a collection of their house made sauces for us to try without prompting, and we loved all of them! Our 3yo enjoyed watching the boats come and go, and our waitress had his meal come out faster so he wasn't hangry. It was such a joy to come here!

I worked in restaurants for several years and so I'm patient with most other establishments. But…read morethe service here was horrid. The server took our order, then took 33 minutes to bring our first round of drinks. Once they came she was pretty good on refills but after we'd waited for food for an hour she appeared to say that our food had been dropped in the back and so they had to redo it. this was after an hour ten minutes waiting. Another person came out to apologize and ask if there was anything they could do to help make the experience better. I had my four year old son with me who by this point was quite hungry. I asked for bread or anything fast. he said sure but nothing came. When the food did come it was bad. The cheese wasn't event melted and the burger was clearly undercooked. This restaurant has the advantage of geography; hatchery really the only other option. In any other competitive market they'd be out of business in a week. Steer clear and go to deltaville raw bar. Way better value and service.

The host told us there was a 20 minute wait which was fine, but we ended up waiting for 45 minutes. I'd rather a host tell me it's an hour wait and call my name after 45 minutes rather than tell me the wait is short and make me wait that long. Other than that the service was great and the food was very good once we were finally seated.

The view…read moredefinitely adds to the experience, but it feels like the restaurant relies too heavily on it and lets too many other aspects fall short. Parking is very limited, and the wait system is practically nonexistent. For a restaurant that regularly has long waits and doesn't accept reservations, I expected a much better process. The host staff was short and unfriendly with our party of four and couldn't even provide a rough wait time. Service throughout the meal was slow. My water glass had lipstick stains around the rim, which was pretty off-putting. My father ordered a beer that didn't arrive until after our food, and by then we had honestly forgotten he had ordered it. We also weren't given appetizer plates before our appetizer was brought out. We ended up getting up and finding plates ourselves. The food was fine, but nothing memorable. Considering the prices, I expected much better quality. It honestly wasn't any better than what you'd get at a casual fish and chips restaurant. The waterfront view is beautiful, but it wasn't enough to make up for the service, cleanliness, and overall dining experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
