In the past several months, on 3 occasions, (the latest yesterday - FRIDAY - 05.15.26) I have stopped by during posted business hours only to find the infamous little hand written sign taped to the inside of the door saying 'Closed Today'. Last month, I DROVE TO WEST POINT ONLY TO GET SOME CRAB MUFFINS - and, of course the business was closed. If the store is actually closed for good - the web site should post that. I'm sure quite a lot of people have driven there and left disappointed. Guess I'll just have to try to remember how good the crab muffins WERE - as obviously they have become extinct. WHAT A SHAME!!!!!! I sure wish someone with a small amount of business acumen would buy it and operate it as it should be. Doug Sakowitz Manakin Sabot, Va

My sons and I stopped in for an early diner after hiking through York River State Park. We were immediately impressed with the decor and friendly service as we entered. The Blue Crab offers several great draft beer choices and their menu offers a variety of stellar options. We split their pickle chips and crab cake sandwich and my picky eater chose the grilled cheese. The food came out fast and tasted great. The batter on the pickle chips (spears) wouldn't stick but it didn't stop us from eating it. This is definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

They have a very wide range of fresh and prepared local seafood. We got 4 crab cakes, about a pint of scallops and two pints of homemade clam chowder which came to $53. We got a quart of oysters, but they didn't make it in the bag (we were talking with the young lady and probably distracted her), but I don't think we were charged for them (we didn't get a receipt). We didn't go back for the oysters because we live 35 minutes away. Their website said the oysters were $32/quart but they were $26/quart at the store, so that was a pleasant surprise. They were local Rappahannock River oysters, so they were a good price. The crab cakes were all meat, no noticeable filler. My wife found them too spicy, but I found them just right. The scallops were pieces, but the young lady told us that before we bought them and it was their last bag. The scallops were fresh and tasty. Worth the 35 minute drive and we will definitely go back.
