Visiting dad who was living nearby, and being the scion of a Broolyn-born pizza fan, had to bring…read morehim some tasty za. Tried a few places in the area, with mixed results (some really good, some never again).
Bro-in-law (not a particulary astute judge of pizza, being from Amish-adjacent country), suggested this place. It was close by, it was really rainy out, and we were all way hungry--us, dad, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids.
Called in an order for some pies--Cheese, sausage, pepper and onion, and margherita--and salads, picked them up, nabbed a coupla chocolate chip cookies that looked amazing, and brought all of back in a jiffy.
Open the pizza steamy boxes, mmm smelled sooo good. Uh, what? It's square. Ah, DGAF, let's dig in!
Really, really good. Right tanginess to the sauce, nice chewy-crispy dough, salty cheese (perhaps a touch too much, but that seems to be the norm outside the NYC metro area). Salads were tasty, too.
Oh, and those cookies. I think I ate them all myself.
