Food is pretty good and it's not your everyday fare which drew me to stop to begin with (tex mex with soul they describe themselves as, and id add island flavors as i had some jerk chix and plantains in the bob marley bowl. No complaints from kids either who went cheesesteak fries and burrito and bacon chz fries respectively. It's not cheap for casual, seat yourself order at the counter dining. Got take out from here last night. I was a little bit worried about it based on the state of the dining room and the girl at the register was pretty disheveled. We have been here three times now because we loved it the first time! We wanted to try more! We brought the kids the last time. Delicious food. Quick service. We ate outside on one of their two picnic tables, all three times. I finally made it back to The Tattooed Pig (my first time since they re-branded from the Plum Bistro). I have to say the smoked chicken with jerk sauce remains my favorite - it is just THAT good. This time, I had it over their hand-cut fries ("Cluck Fries") which was very good. I also tried the Texican burrito which was huge and filled with BBQ Pulled Pork, Smoked Sausage, Hand Cut Fries, Jalapenos, and Apple Slaw. It was also very good, but it wouldn't stay together at all so it was really quite messy to eat - it would have easier to eat if it were in a bowl. They do have some bowls on the menu, but it would be cool if they could offer all of their burritos in a bowl instead of the tortilla (I'm sure they would do it if I asked). I was also thinking that some cheese (instead of their yummy apple slaw) would help hold the burrito together better (which, again, I're sure they would do if you asked). As for my old man, he tried the traditional burrito with beef brisket and surprise surprise, he didn't like it. Well, basically he said it was okay but it was mostly rice. He is a big-time meat man. Anyway, he doesn't seem to like anything he orders these days so whatever. Getting picky in his 'old' age I guess LOL. read more

I was in Philly for a Soccer Tournament at Philly Union Sportsplex. Was looking for a good option for lunch after the game and this was an awesome choice. We tried a variety of items including Fish Tacos, Bang Bang Snrimp, Bon Marley Burrito, empenadas and a few other items. What a culinary treat. Everything was fresh, seasoned well and delightful. I dropped in for late lunch recently with a friend based on the great reviews. The food here is ok and a large portions for the price. I ordered the fish and chips which was piping hot, not bread-y, and quite good. The fries were plentiful but cold compared to the fish. The fish came with an atypical tartar and apple slaw but was ok. Soda choices from the cooler were limited but my dining partner opted for their bottles ice tea. Their burrito was large and filling so that went home. The dining room was mostly empty, was a bit warm on this hot day and could have used a deep cleaning. The path to the single restroom was encumbered by boxes of supplies at one point so a wheelchair or walker would not be able to traverse this route to the restroom. Soooooooooooo..... ordered dinner here tonight.... 30 minutes after the order was submitted we got a call stating they did not have 2 items we ordered and had multiple questions about the rest. After the food arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes later .... There was no chicken and dressing on the salad which had bad lettuce. No bacon on BOTH orders of Mac and cheese.. No cheese on the tots.. and all of these things we up-charged for. The chicken and shrimp in the burritos were not cooked. And there was a hair in my rice and beans. The PHILLY-RRITO (cheesesteak burrito) was absolutely delicious. It had the perfect combination of ribeye steak to cheese to fried peppers and onions to french fries. As a fan of quality Philly cheesesteaks like Dalessandro's and Jim's this burrito more than met my expectations. The meat was flavorful and juicy and the addition of the hand cut french fries really took this thing to another level. Sometimes you see places that make "fat" sandwiches with french fries, mozzarella sticks, or what have you into their sandwiches as almost a gimmick, but the fries in this cheesesteak burrito added the perfect amount of crunch, oil, and salt. Normally I would say $14 is on the higher side for a burrito but this thing was massive and more than worth the cost. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to my friends and family. The girl working the counter was extremely nice and polite and allowed me to get extra sauces to try at no charge. I used a 10% Yelp check-in available at the time, which is an extra bonus and I encourage you to contribute it towards a tip as this place deserves it! read more

Dear hip, amazing and talented people from the tattooed pig, I am just trying to help when I say, 'My Philly-rrito burrito was wonderful but I don't think you need all of the french fries stuffed in there. At least not well done french fries. The 1st half of my Philly-rrito burrito was overpowered by the taste and smell of well done fries. For the 2nd half, I took out the french fries and the meat was amazing and the sauces were stupendous complements. I do love how you decorated the place. Here's the deal, small place that's best suited for take-out. The food was good but the price was a bit high. If I'm paying about 12 dollars for 2 tacos ( one hamburger meat, one had a little brisket with a side of sour creme) the least you can do is offer rice with it. Empanadas were good, cooked nicely. Excellent portion sizes, a nice friendly staff and reasonable prices. They do have 2 pages, catering and dining check both out for the photos Book them for an event if you desire. There are plenty of tables and it felt more like a city place as you can walk up to order and pay and then grab a table! The nachos had picked jalapeños and cheese whiz. It was very disappointing because the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh but the cheese ruined the nachos themselves for the price. If they upgrade the cheese even to queso I'd give this a higher rating. The food came out hot and quick. The tacos were filling with a lot of meat and toppings. I'm not even exaggerating when I saw the Bob Marley burrito I had was the biggest burrito I have ever had. This thing was the size of a football. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious as well. Perfectly tender and seasoned chicken, and the fried plantains were a great touch. Admittedly would've liked more jerk sauce but I know to ask for extra next time. Wasn't too overly loaded with rice instead of chicken either. My fiance got a chicken burrito bowl and was given enough food for three whole meals, and it was flavorful and a good mix of ingredients. While their tacos are delicious and their helpings are plentiful, their move from food truck to store front is a bit lacking. As a southerner from Texas, the BBQ sauce on their loaded fries is more reminiscent of ketchup than either a venegar or molasses based sauce. Their shrimp taco was simply amazing.
