The greens lacked that deep, seasoned, smoky flavor that really makes Southern-style greens stand out. There was no sign that smoked meat had been used to season them, and they tasted more like they came straight from a can. My parents are from the South, so I grew up around soul food, and this just wasn't the kind of flavor I'm used to. I know taste is personal and maybe others enjoy it, but for me it didn't bring back that nostalgic, home-cooked soul food experience I was hoping for. According to him the omelette was delicious and well-made with the spinach and onions adding a nice, savory touch. The turkey sausage was perfectly cooked. The shredded hashbrowns were crispy and flavorful and the English muffin was the perfect side. I didn't order anything myself but he mentioned he truly enjoyed the meal. The cafe had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the food definitely left a positive impression. We'll certainly keep it in mind for future visits!
