Great people and bbq! Mac and cheese was amazing! Looking forward to trying the brisket next time.

I finally got here today. At first I was impressed with the hellos from inside. I told them I'm a first timer and needed a menu. The prices were in line with other places. I asked about the baked beans and didn't care for the answer. To be safe I ordered a pulled pork on a keiser roll and baked beans. it was to go which is important in my comment. Came to about nineteen dollars. I thanked them and left. When I got home the pulled pork was in a container and not on the roll. but I think there's a good reason. when I made the sandwich the meat was very juicy. I figure if it was put together and I drove home the roll would be soggy. smart on their part. The baked beans were good. Thereason I have it four out of five was because when I asked about the baked beans I received what I felt to be a stand off attitude. So I let that go, paid, and left. Pretty much the closest place from Claws N Paws to grab a bite. Plenty of parking and they have an ice cream spot attached. The smell of smoke from the fire pit when you pull into the parking lot was very inviting. Our server was nice, service was slow because she was the only one working. I had the recommended brisket sandwich. It was very greasy, brisket portion was on the smaller side, but tender and moist. I detected zero smoke. The potato salad was boring. Their BBQ sauce was average/just ok. The corn bread was good and fresh. My wife and kids had cheeseburgers and said their were average and fine. Nothing bad, nothing great to report. She had the mac and cheese and said it was alright too. The inside was clean and inviting. I asked some questions when we were leaving to an older woman working on the other side about their smoking operation and she was not personable at all. We've been here 4 times and it's been hit or miss. This last time was a miss. $50 and almost none of it edible. The ribs and chicken were very over smoked, dry, and just inedible. The coleslaw was more mayo juice than slaw. The Mac & Cheese and Corn Bread were really all we could stomach. Won't be back.... read more

The food is pretty good. I hadn't had ribs in years, and enjoyed my meal. I recommend take out if you're staying close enough to eat it hot. The AC wasn't working, the location is a cell phone dead zone, and the Wifi is private. The service was OK, there was only one woman working that I saw. There were only a few customers, I imagine it would have gotten very slow if a couple of other families showed up. Five Stars for Food Two and a half for everything else. read more

It was.... Okay. No meat plates, only sandwiches. Wife and I both had pulled pork. It was the most skimpy amount of meat either of us had seen on a bbq sandwich. It was engulfed by the Kaiser bun, one of which was covered in poppy seeds while the other wasn't. For the price I wasn't impressed. Kids cheeseburger was a good size, hot dog seemed okay. The sweet potatoes fried sounded good in theory but are not in execution. They are fresh cut, and I'm guessing twice fried, but the skin is left on and nearly inedible on some. The server was friendly and helpful. Even though she was by herself and the dining room was mostly full she was great. The chili is delicious. I had it loaded. Their pulled pork sandwich and brisket melt was delicious. I felt it was a little skimpy but the price was not that bad. The pies were scrumptious . The pistachio cream was out of this world. Food was dry and flavorless for sandwiches and meats. Ribs were all bone. Chicken had so many bones. Corn bread tasted like a sweet piece cake more than corn bread and define not "fresh". I'd say the only disappointment was that they do shoestring style fries and they were Luke warm at best and super soggy. It was takeout and fries don't always hold up well. We stopped here for dinner after a day on the lake. There was live music playing outside which was nice. The service was great! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the chicken and ribs combo and the children's chicken tenders. The ribs were great! They were very tender and had a faint smokiness to them. I thought the BBQ sauce was also pretty good. The chicken was just ok. I'd prefer to have the chicken grilled with some sauce on it instead of just slathered on after the cooking process. The French Fries although a little cold were really good. The cole slaw had a really nice taste but needed less liquid. Overall great friendly service and good food. read more

What a pleasant surprise on our ride today. Drove by on our bikes and decided we needed to go back. Good choice. Safety protocols in place, no waiting in line to order, food came quick, reasonable prices and delicious too. Not impressed by the Campbells grade beans but everything else more than made up for that small blunder. 10/10 would go again. read more

Quick service and takeout and the food isn't bad! They could use a bit more sauce on the pulled pork but overall it wasn't too bad. The buns are absolutely gigantic too. The Mac and cheese was alright and the potato salad was good. read more

Came here for dinner with family and friends and the general consensus was mixed. Some people really enjoyed the food while others felt the ribs were on the dry side and possibly reheated. I personally had the brisket sandwich and it was moist. The BBQ fries where very good hand cut thick fries were perfect to absorb all the BBQ juices. I will come back and give this place another shot we did get there late in the evening I will try coming back when they first open and try the ribs. read more

Had the brisket and pulled pork sandwiches which were good but the sides were disappointing. The coleslaw in the past was creamy but this was too full of liquid and lacked flavor. The fries were cold and limp. No crispness at all. Maybe try the onion rings and Mac and cheese but stay away from the regular fries read more

Great food, great service. Outside atmosphere was wonderful. Not only our waitress waiting on us but other staff asked us if we needed anything as well. Toasted sticky bun was incredible. Only downfall about the whole place was the use of Styrofoam. read more

1 star for Mr. Yock's. 5 stars for Mr. Yuck's. Maybe I'm spoiled by my time in South Carolina and Mississippi, but I did expect flavor to be part of my experience. They only have sandwiches, so you can't get a plate of meat. You also can't get a mixture. So I got the brisket, which I typically love. It didn't taste smoked. It wasn't salty. The cheese on it was something synthetic, and the bread was soggy. On another note, the mac and cheese tasted it came from a box. Stouffer's perhaps. But at least the waitress was inattentive, surly, and had her mask hanging down below her nose. 5/5 would recommend you skip this place. read more

Food was okay. We got take out for dinner, I feel like the earlier in the day you get the food the better. I suspect the food was either being kept warm or was reheated. We got a rack of ribs to share and 1/2 chicken with sides of Cole slaw and baked beans. Ribs and slaw where tasty. Chicken was dry and even the dark meat needed sauce. Baked beans where absolute mush, good taste but the texture was unbearable. I did enjoy the ribs. If we're in the area again I'll probably try a different place. read more

They've got a clutch location, 1/2 way between Lake Walley & Hamlin. I got a brisket sandwich and it was on point, their BBQ sauce is homemade and delicious. Great atmosphere, family friendly, their racks of ribs look and smell delightful & from watching orders go out look to be a hot item. Heard about a live band next weekend, should be fun to come check it out. Definitely recommend this place, and I will be back! read more

Tried them out for the first time. Ordered a little of everything to get a taste. When they gave me the bag it was missing half the order thank god I checked before driving off. Also ordered the pulled pork sandwich and either it was not pork or just not good. I am 99%sure it was brisket and the person that ordered it doesn't eat beef they were left hungry. read more

Terrible !! Should be called Mr. Yucks. We ordered the pork sandwich on a Kaiser roll, the pork wasn't drained and the bottom of the roll was a soggy mess. The coleslaw had big chunks of cabbage something in it and the sweet potato fries were mostly the outside peelings with a little potato on them and saturated with greasy oil. We couldn't even eat the sweet potato fries so I asked to have them taken off the bill and they wouldn't. The person in charge said we ordered them and it said what they were on the menu so we had to pay for them. She was pretty rude to boot. Why would you want to lose customers over $5.00 worth of fries that probably only cost them 50 cents to make. Not very good in my opinion. Beef brisket had very little bark, very little smoke flavor and not much of any pink smoke ring. It was just a brown mess of beef. They dumped the bbq sauce on top and the whole mess became quite greasy. The roll was not the freshest. It was "halfway" to stale. Finally, for the to go order they gave no napkins or utensils (utensils needed because they give you the beef in a container and you are supposed to spoon it onto the roll yourself.
