TVs / atmosphere was good. French onion soup was good. It was sweet and very hot when it came out. I enjoyed it My family got the burgers and rated them well. The cheesesteak was good. They make homemade chips but ours were a little over cooked. The buffalo shrimp / breaded shrimp were very small with a large breading & very oily. Family loved the pretzel bites. I love a good local "dive" bar, unfortunately this one falls short (I wanted to love it). The food needs some work. We had the French onion soup and burgers. The soup was broth with salad croutons and some cheese. The broth was completely soaked up by the overly seasoned croutons - I couldn't even eat it. The burgers are just okay. Folks here are a joy, and the food was great to boot. Seems like one big community, lots of locals and it seemed like the owner knew everyone. Tasty bar food for reasonable prices, with a dining room and a bar so you can choose to avoid the loud, lively atmosphere or embrace it. Great place in a small town! read more

I've tried to contact the owner, Gene, in 3 different ways over the last 2 weeks: via their email posted on their website, Facebook Messenger and messaged here on Yelp with no response. I am sorely disappointed that I've not received anything back and will now share our experience with you Yelpers so hopefully you won't go through a similar experience with their bartender, Amy. If you happen to get her, please review your check VERY carefully so you don't get ripped off like we did. Here is what we sent the owner: My husband and I frequent your establishment quite a bit since we've moved back to the area. Most of your staff are super nice, very attentive and do their jobs well. However, tonight was the last straw for us with Amy (she has waited on us several times in the past and I asked her to correct several incorrect bills and drink orders). She served us when we arrived and we both ordered Captain Morgan and diet cokes tall. She asked if we wanted singles or doubles and we both asked for singles. There was very little Captain in both (which we expect with singles) and we both ended up ordering a second drink each along with food. When we received our check at the end, Amy had charged us with 4 double Captain Morgans and 1 single Captain Morgan (which we never ordered nor received). I asked Amy why we were charged for doubles and the single and she said we never specified if we wanted singles or doubles and my husband ordered the last single (which he never did) and we most definitely asked for singles at the beginning and told her so. She replied with, 'No you didn't' and mumbled sorry and gave me two tokens to get drinks with next time we came. So we were charged for 9 drinks (if you count doubles as two) and only had 4 and she gave us two tokens. That math is a little off in my book and I thought you should know what occurred. Honestly, the next time we come in, if Amy is working, we will request another bartender or we will leave. Her customer service is very poor and her drinks are extremely weak (even for singles). I've attached a copy of our bill so you could see but I really hope you can correct Amy's poor customer service and bartending/bar tab skills. I wish I could say better but,unfortunately this place is in trouble and it's not the location or staff. It's at the feet of the owner for I believe there is an angry issue by the owner who berates his customers in front of other customers when there is an inquiry regarding money on the bar. There needs to be a more diplomatic approach when those very same people pay his bills I hope only the best. read more

I felt really safe here...tables were well-spaced and all the workers were wearing masks. I appreciate a place that is mindful of safety for employees and patrons alike. I got carry-out, but I'd feel comfortable dining in after seeing the setup. Onto the food...I got the melt, which was very tasty and served as both dinner and lunch the following day. It was much bigger than I expected. Heavy, but something satisfying on a freezing night. Onion rings were exactly what I hoped they'd be. Super crunchy on the outside, soft onion on the inside that doesn't come out to slap you. Also, I'm not a big fry person, but I kept stealing them off another person's plate. Normally have decent service. Tonight we've been here since 8:35 and it is 9:45. We ordered food around 8:45, a burger medium rare, nachos and pretzel sticks. We are still waiting. We were told about 20 minutes ago the kitchen got backed. Just got told now that a table of 25 in the back is what is holding up the kitchen. We went for an early dinner and decided to sit in the back dining room. The food was average at best and the service was almost non existent. For a starter we ordered the steamed clams and for dinner we ordered filet mignon and the surf and turf special. The waiter never brought out the appetizer that we ordered. When our dinners were finally served over an hour later we asked about our appetizer and he simply said he forgot. Our dinners were just ok - nothing special. We chose Mexican corn as our vegetables and that was inedible. It was sitting in a pool of butter. Completely unappetizing. Looking at their menu I would probably go back and sit in the bar for traditional bar food/sandwiches but I won't be having a dinner there again. It was pretty bad. Tried for an Oktoberfest since you know that's what time it is, barkeep straight up said "yeah we don't have that" I asked for some suggestions of something similar she promptly dropped my check and walked away despite having 2 other customers in the whole place? Would seem like a strange strategy? We recently moved here from Long Island and have passed this place several times when looking for a place to eat. The outside is quite deceiving. Today we tried it and we were quite surprised. It is actually very big inside with two large rooms in the back one being a separate room that has a stage and a bar. Great for a party. We went to the front room .The food was really good ( we had burgers) and a beer. The place was very clean and looked like a nice place to hang out .The beers were cold and reasonably priced. My husband played a little pool while we were there and he was very happy. People were friendly the service quick. All in all a great little spot which we will gladly be returning too. read more

We use to enjoy going to wing night weekly. We visited for the first time in awhile and were very disappointed. The prices have gone up and the service is terrible. The bartender never made eye contact with us despite taking our order, she even turned her back to us while taking our order. Went to celebrate my stepson's 21st Birthday and got cut off after only a few hours. When we questioned the bartender she said it only takes 2 drinks to get a DUI. So if you want more than two drinks you better go somewhere else. I even told her we had a DD and she said she didn't care because she would be the one fined. Absolutely ridiculous. We go here 2-3 times per month for food and drinks. The drink prices are great, food is delicious, and they always have different specials to choose from. If you're looking for good food in Hamlin this is your best option. If you're looking for something other than just standard bar food this is a great place to go. Environment is good, Food is Fair, Service Manager is a big issue. She is rude and talks down to the customers. We had a decent meal, but could have been better. A customer told us the manager was a food critic. I hope that is not true because she didn't look over our meal before it came to us. The Burger was overcooked and the presentation was very poor. We didn't expect perfect until we found out she was a so called critic herself. I would hope that she will start to critique where she works and her personal customer skills before she decides to pass judgement on another business online. To be fair I will give them another shot since I am in the local area on a regular basis. Let's just hope the so call manager improves her customer service skills and realizes this is a tough industry. read more
