Had a little time to kill in the Lake Wallenpaupack area and was looking up some suggestions from my videos and searching items on google for a spot to grab something to eat. Came across a spot on google that was using seeded semolina rolls and cooper sharp for a cheesesteak so I figured why not give it a shot. I would come to find out that they no longer use cooper sharp (which is why this is a 4 and not a 5 rating), but I wanted to try this out either way. So in the middle of nowhere...this is a good steak. Plenty of meat and it was tender and seasoned nicely. The cheese sauce they make here went nicely on the sandwich and the seeded semolina was a good roll. It was not a Philly or NYC quality roll, but it was good. Price was about what I'd expect. Decided to give this place a try, went in ordered a sandwich and was shocked to see an employee make a sandwich at the prep station and literally eat the sandwich over the prep station. This place has countertops the length of the building and two huge picnic tables inside and he eats standing over where they prep everyone's food. In this day and age it amazes me how unsanitary food service is. Not to mention the girl who handles money is also touching food. In her defense I did see her put gloves on at least but while waiting for my food she an another employee went outside presumably to smoke maybe not but when they both returned I saw no one wash their hands. If you gonna build an establishment that preps in front of customers maybe take that extra step to be mindful of sanitary conditions when the customers are standing there and see everything. read more

Whoa! Went there a few weeks ago and the cheesesteak was (as it should be) excellent sliced steak. So I went back today and it was one big boring ground beef cheeseburger. What happened?? Too bad. Totally mismanaged. I've come to meatheads twice for chicken and both times out of chicken at 1:00pm. Kid said not making more it takes 25 minutes. How do you have a primarily fried chicken place not have chicken ready or on its way out. read more

When the chicken comes out just fried its so good. We love to get some assorted pieces and take them out for a lunch on our boat. The meal is still a hit cold. Prices are very reasonable and if you call ahead you can get exact variety to go. read more

I have to admit, I was skeptical. But do not believe the naysayers. The fried chicken is so moist and the cheesesteak is legit! We ordered a huge order right before closing and they didn't bat an eye. Some delicious sauces to try and even with a picky crowd everyone found something they liked. Funny but the few times I've gone in there the prices are never what appears on their menu. Last time I was there I ordered their hamburger that came with onion, lettuce, tomato and I told the girl I wanted the hamburger with onion only. So she charged for a hamburger and extra for the onion!!! Can't handle stupid read more

Had take out at Meatheads, in Hawley, PA again. We are repeat customers and in the Lake region when you have great food and staff you put them out there. As a tourist area we see many businesses come and go. My wife, our friends and families agreed Meatheads is a 5 star eatery. I don't know the owner but the staff is friendly, professional and clean and the prices are great. We love this place and will be here again when we return from our camping trip next week! Great food, but the tipping expectation is ridiculous. This is a 'takeout' place, but after paying for my food the girl spun the credit card screen around so I could choose what amount of 'tip' she apparently thinks she earned BEFORE any service was rendered. Of course, I chose NONE, knowing that we were going to eat our food at the table they had inside. I also saw the tip jar on the counter and figured that if she brought us our food, then she would have earned a few bucks to be dropped into the jar. Instead, when our food was ready, she called us up to get it rather than carry it five feet to our table....which of course would be considered 'service.' Please teach your young employees what it means to EARN a tip, and at the very least stop forcing customers to decide up front. read more

Reasonable prices, good flavor, and moist grilled chicken! So many people will dry out the grilled chicken- not these guys. The chicken had a nice crisp crust and was tender and juicy. My only suggestion- some salt on the chicken would make it great! We will be back! read more
