The stuffed canoli pancakes were to die for. Pancakes were about the size of the plate. Hash browns were nice and crisp. My husband had a western omelette. Very cheesy an loaded with ham, peppers and onions. Breakfast potatoes were well seasoned. Food came out quick. Our waitress was very attentive . Coffee cup was always full. It's small and quaint. The staff take extra precautions with their gluten free food to be sure there is no cross contamination. I really appreciate that that since I have celiac disease. I have gotten gluten free food here plenty of times and never had an issue. The owners are very friendly people and will do what they can to make sure your food is good. The prices of the food aren't bad for a small Cafe in a small town which would keep locals coming in again for great service. I didn't say anything it's not worth it because the last time I complained about my chicken sandwich I was told it is what it is. I knew I was going to smell like food the rest of the day I ordered 2 eggs over medium and the sweet potato home fries. It was just ok. I was told the home fries weren't deep fried but they seemed like they could've been, but I ate them anyway, as I said they were just ok. My husband ordered the Spinach, Onion Swiss Omelet with home fries and it was just ok as well... the potatoes were disappointing to him. The service was good, very kind and helpful. I think the reason I would say I wouldn't recommend this restaurant is because of the lack of ventilation. We had a fantastic experience. The pancakes were delicious with a rich buttery flavor. The omelette was huge and packed with fillings. French toast was great. The corn beef hash had real chunks of corn beef and the perfect amount of char. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The place is very small and every table filled. My friends and I were up in the Poconos visiting Lake Wallenpaupack and were looking for a quick breakfast spot on the way home. Lake Wally Cafe seemed to be perfect. This is your typical family owned, local joint, complete with fresh baked goods behind the counter as soon as you walk in. I was expecting good food but it was just okay. Nothing super fancy. I ordered an omelet and the ham inside was just big slices of deli ham with fat chunks of vegetables. It was just okay. My friends felt the same about their food as well. Nothing spectacular but it did the job. However, I have to say I got a pumpkin muffin for the road and it was delicious. I wish I would've gotten more. I'm sure Lake Wally Cafe has its other strengths besides baked good. But I would say it's a solid choice for a quick bite to eat without any of the frills. read more
