Followed neighborhood signs for local pumpkin patch on our way to another farm. This place is extremely odd. There is a $10 charge for taking pictures on your phone or camera. There are offerings for children's activities such as petting zoo, hay ride, hay bale maze, and possibly other things. I appreciate the go get em spirit to take advantage of every opportunity to make a living this holiday season. By the way, the entire grounds are surveilled, which also feels odd. Just so odd. ODD!!!! We ended up getting 2 nice pumpkins for a decent price, though with the unpleasantries of phone restrictions I would probably have preferred a grocery store purchase. I very much wish we continued down to road to our initial destination, though there is also a sense of satisfaction having helped a very unusual albeit not exactly pleasant small business. We went to Mr. Tree today, anxious to find a tall tree and a regular one. The pre-cut ones were not numerous, and mostly on the short side. They had about 6 that were way taller than we needed, but only one was full and pretty, and it was $800. My husband forgot our saw, no problem, we could use one of theirs, but he had to leave his driver's license in order to do so. We walked into the fields, all around. The trees were either incredibly tall, or just squat kind of bushes, I honestly did not see one nice tree. This was just a very strange tree farm! read more

delightful place to get your Christmas Tree. Take the family. We have been going here about 12 years. It has been a family business for over 50 years. One can feel that it is a labor of love. After you pick your tree you can visit the petting barn. Sometimes Santa is there for pictures. This is a wonderful barn with friendly animals the children will adore. Customer service was great! Gentlemen working front was great.... But 170$ for a tree that was missing a bunch of pine needles in the middle and looked like it had some disease? I'll pass. Trees are WAY over priced. They price off of height and nothing else... half of the tree could be missing(which some basically were) but it doesn't matter. If you're driving from awhile away like we did... Highly suggest going else where. Field of trees is also huge but the tress are very spread out and you are not allowed driving back like other tree farms. read more

There aren't many reasonable cut your own Christmas tree places near Columbus. We decided to try this one after glancing at the website and seeing the prices about $10-$12 per foot. The place does have charm - but the animals, refreshments etc were nowhere to be found. When I asked the guy said they (the animal owners) decided not to make the trip due to weather. Once we got out in the fields, none of the trees are marked and they give you a hard to read map. There was not a good variety - most trees were over 6'. Noticed on the map that the price was $18 per foot. We were too far down the rabbit hole to turn back, so we went with it and ended up with a $120 tree. That's a bit pricey for me! There's a lady in the barn that hand makes all of the wreaths and they are beautiful! She was very sweet and made my daughter a pine one ornament to take home. read more

Been here a few times, and once again, I can't believe I haven't reviewed this before. It's a bit expensive, but they have a nice setup and plenty of trees to choose from. Cut your own (they'll lend you a saw) or pick one from many different types and sizes ready to go. They'll trim the base and shake it for free, and wrap it for a small charge. We came here with intent to buy a tree - the assortment was a tough- we could not find anything that would fit our space that was not sparse of missing pines. Hey! All good! .... When we went to leave they told us we had to pay them $30 although we did not find anything for the "experience" ... it was raining, nothing was "open" as far amenities or games or cute things that happen when the weather was nice. Mr. Keith is an attraction on his own. Our first visit and we felt welcomed just the moment we arrived. It was brought to our attention that there were more items in the barn, a straw maze (for little ones), a petting zoo (hard at work entertainment staff), a caboose and hay ride! I thought to stop in for just a moment to help out my special needs son choose a pumpkin. This extraordinary visit included all of these attractions and a true lesson in tree farming by Mr. Keith. Overall it's not a place I would go with a family if you're looking for a Christmas tree. They're very nice but they know how to nickel and dime you. All their trees also had about 4-5 inches at the top of nothing but they won't let you chop that part off. So you have to pay for it. Their tree charts "may not account for seeds that blew over to another area" so don't be amazed when the most expensive tree thy have is in the cheapest section. Overall, it's super expensive for what you get I mean like 100$+ If you enjoy tears and by tears I mean your wallet disappearing for family fun this is the place. read more

This place has some charm to it. There are some farm animals you can see in the barn and a large train layout. They do have refreshments. I didn't see prices but the average sized hot chocolate was $3 which seemed ridiculously expensive given that the place we used to go gave you free hot chocolate and cookies. It goes without saying that for a decent selection of pre-cut trees you need to go early. Due to family commitments we couldn't get there til today and they are down to a fraction of what it appears they had. Their trees to cut are spread out over a decent amount of acreage. It was easy walking but again, the trees are quite picked over. The price is $16/foot which seems again quite expensive. They shake the tree for free but do charge for the net. Again, our prior tree farm experiences this was included in the price of the tree. I think they would do better to gain more good will and not nickel and dime you for everything. The workers were pleasant and helpful but overall, we won't be back due to the crazy prices and poor selection. read more

We get our Christmas tree here every year. It's our family tradition ... my husband even used to come here with his family when he was in high school! We love the extremely helpful staff and the trees are beautiful and really last. We always pick out a special wreath each year too and they're always unique shapes. I wish I had visited Yelp before visiting this place. Absolutely bait and switch, do not go here. Trees are expensive, was quoted $20 a foot, with some trees carrying no price tags as you walked through pre-cut trees. Others had price tags, but what is on the price tag is clearly not what you will pay. Here is exactly how my experience went. I walked around, I didn't really see anything that was worth what it was tagged for, but unfortunately my 12 year old daughter did and absolutely loved one tree. So I said, OK, it was tagged at $112 and said it was 8ft. I didn't think it was 8ft, but whatever. Had a very nice worker (sadly all the workers are pretty nice, almost too nice) who said it was his first day get the tree. He said they "Prep it". I said I didn't need a net as I had brought a full sized pickup, just cut off the end and I would be on my way. The worker took the tree and the tag on the tree went to the owner (which I didn't know until after this debacle, just thought he was another worker). The owner walks around with a Christmas tree hat and is the only one that can write up trees. I am sure he thought I never saw the price tag because he walked between me and the tree to snag it off and crumple it up in his hand, which I didn't think much of at the time. He then proceeded to ask if I needed to have it prepped, netted, etc., which I repeated the same thing I had told the worker, no. At that time he handed me a "checkout slip", which had 8.5 ft circled at 119.86. I took the slip and asked why the tree had gone up in price and size from the tag. He gave me a nasty, surly look and said, "Because your F'n Governor charges 6.5% Tax." I said 6.5% would be $118.72, not what I was charged. He snarled, "just take your slip inside". Well I took the slip inside figuring I would find the manager or owner and a blonde woman was sitting at the register and asked for my slip. I relayed the story and asked to have it adjusted to the price on the tag. The blonde woman was just as surly and proceeded to ask me if I had brought my own saw and cut myself (it was pitch black by now and no signs that said cut trees were any different from their price tags),had it "prepped, netted, etc." I advised that I had done none of those things. At that point she advised me that was the Tree hat guy was the owner and what he put on the "slip" was it. I bought the tree, but lesson learned. Absolute scam, do not do not buy. And as for the lovely amenities you get with a "petting zoo" and other things. He has four surly miniature horses and 5-6 goats shoved in two filthy, smelly stalls (I own 10 horses so filthy and unkempt I recognize!) that likely had not been cleaned in two weeks. Place is a complete filthy mess, trees are bail and switch, and owners are rude and demeaning. Run, don't walk from this place. read more

The gentleman that I guess is the owner who was wearing a Christmas tree hat was not a pleasant man at all. I took my daughter there because there was a petting zoo and I had never been here before so I wanted to see what it was all about. The gentleman was extremely abrasive and in formed me that if I didn't make at least a $30 dollar purchase I couldn't take pictures. Which I understand it's his business to be concerned with. But from a customers stand point that first interaction turned me off. I went into the barn with my daughter and I saw a wreath that I very much wanted but decided not to purchase/order it because of the lack of customer service I was met with, with that interaction. And then another family then came which was a Caucasia family and they were not met with this same abrasive behavior. Needless to say this also made me believe that he possibly assumed because of my skin tone that I had no intentions of making a purchase as well. I and my family love the Mr. Tree Farm experience. We've gotten our tree there every year for the past 10 years. If you're looking for a unique holiday experience, you've come to the right place! Mr Tree is a family owned, local farm. Going there is like walking back in time when families used to gather together to find the best tree and bring it back to their homes. Whither you choose your own or one of their pre-cut trees, they are incredibly fresh and will last well into January. Over the past 10 years, I have always found Mr. Tree, Mr. Tree Sr. (his father) and their staff to be helpful, curious and knowledgeable. Year in and year out, their helpful tree care guidance helps to keep our families tree looking great all holiday season long. BTW, you don't just go there to buy a tree. Go there to experience a unique holiday atmosphere where you can get warm by a bonfire, experience the nostalgia of an old fashioned barn, let the kids pet real animals in the zoo and stroll through acres of amazingly beautiful Christmas trees. Worst experience ever....I cried leaving. My family was on a very tight budget due to difficult circumstances. But we decided to pick out a tree to decorate since thats all we had for the kids. It was supposed to be $60. When we checked out it was double that. They mix trees together and dont label them on purpose. Then they charge extra money to net the tree. Business owner is unprofessional to customers and in his reviews online just look at the google reviews. SCAM is all I can say. read more
