Cackler's is a place to make amazing memories with loved ones. The farm smells amazing. When I went the weather was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining and the weather was not terribly cold. The line was long to wait for the sleds and saws. You can bring your own to save on time waiting in line. Dogs are welcome, as long as they stay on the leash. It is fun to walk around the farm to find the perfect tree. Once you find it you get to cut it down and take it home for the holidays. Cackler's offers tree shaking, netting, and drilling for an extra cost. I can see this easily becoming a tradition for my family too!

We stumbled upon the Cackler Family Farm, and brought home a gorgeous Canaan Fir tree. It's a bit of a drive from Hilliard, but it was well-worth the trip! There are signs along the road which assured us that we were heading in the right direction. Although the parking lot was packed, it did not seem crowded when we were walking around the farm. There's plenty of space to wander around to search for the perfect tree! A kind gentleman helped answer questions by the information sign. Be sure to head to the info area for a map of the general area. It will list the different tree species and where they are located. If you're unsure about which type you like, there's a row of examples around the front of the farm. A sled and saw are provided. Many trees have a red tag to identify the species and price. However, you also have the option of picking an untagged tree. We were told that there are too many trees to tag at once. Just be sure not to cut a baby tree or step on them :) Once you get a tree, bring it around to the front office area to have it prepped to bring home. They shake off excess pine bits. For $3, you can have the tree netted. There is a small concession stand for snacks and drinks, along with a children's play area with a cute donkey and lamb. Handmade holiday wreaths are featured in the main office area are for sale. Cackler Family Farm has beautiful trees with endless options. With its location relatively close to Columbus, it was a fabulous experience and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect Christmas tree!

Therefore, there are less and less tulips by the minute since the festival begins. We went on day 3 of the tulip festival and many tulips already looked dry. Things I did not like about the festival... $12 for anyone 3 years old and above. I think it's crazy to charge for children 3 years old because there was not much offered for them. The website even said rides included. What rides? No hay ride or any kind of ride available. I messaged the farm in regard to tickets being available to buy at the farm and they sent me an automated reply routing me to the online ticket sales. Online tickets charged an extra $7 on top of the $60 for 5 people. We arrived at the farm and I noticed that they were selling tickets onsite. It frustrated me because the line for online ticket holders and people buying on the spot were moving at the same pace and really there was no benefit to buying online. However, their reply to me made it seem like tickets were only available online, so I ended up paying extra fees for no reason. They need to how to be efficient in giving access to the fields. We were in line for nearly 20 minutes, even with prepurchased tickets. If the farm will charge for kids, they need to have proper activities available for the kids. The school bus they had their was unique but it was such an old vehicle. They did not spruce it up. It was rusting and had busted seats. Overall, you have to keep an eye on your kids very closely because there could be things they could get hurt from. The train that is there is even older looking than the bus and even more rusted. There was an antique vehicle there too, which was nice to take a picture on but it was really falling apart! With the ticket cost, I have seen much better farms that have so much more to do and they do not charge kids that young. The children's activities need a whole revamp.

This year we decided to try a new place out in the country, and I couldn't be happier we did. I will say this, bring your hiking boots and a good saw! The cut-your-own trees are way up on a hill. The view from the hill is gorgeous, but getting the trees down is a little tricky. The family that owns this place are some of the nicest people I've ever met in my life. It's YE Gurl, here for the flowers and the life lessons in bloom…read more Timbuk Farms Tulip Festival Granville, OH 4/27/2025 After hearing the buzz (and spotting a few too many pastel-clad photo dumps on Instagram), I finally made my way to Timbuk Farms' Tulip Festival--and it did slightly disappoint. Think of it as Ohio's most photogenic meeting of the minds: aspiring influencers, local families, plant-loving aunties, and at least one goat that clearly thinks it's in charge. The farm setup is charmingly chaotic in the best way: hay towers, bouncy castles, cardboard cut-outs, and a lineup of goats ready to be hand-fed at 50 cents a handful. Rows upon rows of tulips in full bloom awaited us, $1 a stem. It's part aesthetic, part strategy--because yes, the seasoned grannies will coach you on the art of pulling bulbs with stems intact. (Pro tip: look for those slightly opened blooms if you want better replanting success.) We caught the tail end of the season, so while I wasn't dressed like a walking Pinterest board, I got the full experience. Dirt under my nails, sun on my face, and a haul of 18 vibrant tulips for $19.31. The wait to check out was a little steamy--sun beating down, line inching slowly--but it gave me a chance to eavesdrop on gardening tips and admire a dog wearing flower crowns. There are also food trucks and coffee carts if you need a break, and plenty of plants and bulbs for sale if you're looking to extend your floral moment beyond the bouquet. Just a heads-up: parking is gravel-based, bumper-to-bumper, and you'll probably end up next to a pickup truck with a decal that reads "I only stop for tulips." Welcome to the Midwest. Would I go back? Absolutely--only next time I'm dressing for the photo ops and the heat.

Its even better if its in the snow (sorry dad!). If you're not into the whole sawing thing, they do have precut ones that you can choose from up near the front. The family is friendly and sometimes the family dog will run around with you and help you pick out the best tree. They will bag it up and help you load it up. I was surprised to find that any pine tree you cut is $25. I am used to paying $35-$50 for a nice tree and having to check the price tag every time I find one that I like. Not worrying about price was a nice change, so I could focus on the best tree for my needs. In my previous experiences, I am used to having to wait for a beat up old school bus to pick me up, cutting a tree, then waiting in the cold to be picked up again. In this case, you just get a cart, hike up the hill, cut your tree, then bring it back down. It's not a very large farm, so you don't have to worry about hiking long distances, and the way back is downhill, so you don't have to lug the tree uphill or anything. When I got back to the main building, I was surprised to find that they do not take credit cards, so BRING CASH! We walked into their shop, that has long, collapsible tables for sitting and having free hot chocolate and boxed cookies, and a fake fireplace at the end. They sell second hand Christmas decorations for as little as $.10 on up as well as some collectables and antiques, but I didn't notice many hand made decorations, or fresh wreaths or anything. Altogether it was a nice experience, but I will probably continue looking for a nicer place to cut a tree, and sit by the fire or shop hand made decorations afterwards. But if I can't find something really nice, I won't have a problem coming back.
