I stopped by here to see how much it would cost for them to plug my tire, but they insisted since it was in the tread closest to my tire wall that I would need a whole new tire. I knew that wasn't right so I decided to go somewhere else. The person we spoke with was very nice but it felt like they were just trying to get money out of us. Maybe it's their policy to replace tires when it's that close to the tire wall but still I knew that couldn't be right and I'm glad I didn't fall for it. I had my mechanic look at my car before I went to Mr tire and the only reason I didn't get her to fix my car was because she couldn't that day. Anywhere I went to Mr tire the guy was okay I told him exactly what was wrong with the tire I said it either needs have the rim cleaned or distemated be replaced. About 20 minutes later after you the car into the shop he came to me and said the car tire was really really bad that we have to replace both back tires because it's falling apart and he kept telling me it's really bad it's really bad it's really bad I told him I want my car back and I was going to take it somewhere else because I knew he was lying to me Plus if I got tires there the tires would cost me double the amount that they would have and Costco. Tonight I took it over to Costco I told them exact same thing please look at the room and clean it or it could be the stem I waited and they came back and gave me a $15 repair job receipt it was the stem that was leaking. The tire they said was fine I probably would have to replace it in a year but other than that there was nothing wrong with it And the tire would only cost me $140 have it installed mounted and rotated So Mr tire you overcharged and you think your customers are stupid come back out of the 18th century and come into the present. How dare you to try to go after seniors and take their money. WARNING: DO NOT COME HERE-- THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY EVEN IF NO SERVICE IS DONE!! On Thursday evening my fiancé had a flat tire so we put the spare on and headed over to Mr. Tire to see if they could help because they were the only ones open and were closest to us. We ended up leaving the car overnight knowing they wouldn't be able to give a quote until Friday morning, which was fine. We called on Friday morning around 11am after having not heard anything yet. They quoted $350 for ONE tire. We said no and asked for alternatives and they came back with a new price of $170. We initially said yes to go with that. After a few minutes and after telling them yes we called back and said never mind that we might have a warranty and will take it to where we bought it. NO WORK WAS DONE ON THE CAR AND THE CAR WASN'T EVEN MOVED OUT OF THE SPOT WE LEFT IT IN. Well, when we went to pick up the car in the evening after getting off work they charged a $20 "service fee"!! FOR WHAT?!? Absolutely nothing was done to the car!!! All they did was quote a tire price!! I WOULD NEVER GO HERE EVER AGAIN EVEN AS A LAST RESORT!! If this is how they treat a potential customer I can't imagine how much they'll scam you as an actual customer!! read more

My van had an electrical failure, which required towing. I called Mr. Tire to verify that they could receive the vehicle and towed it to the location. I asked a technical where to park the vehicle. After unloading another technician came and insisted that I push the vehicle to a new location but refused to help push it. Mr. Tire then claimed to look at the vehicle. After two day they called my wife and said they could not find a way to restart it and that the engine needed to be rebuilt or replaced and charged us a diagnostic fee. Not wanting to pay for an engine rebuild, I then towed the van to a ford dealer. They looked at the van and determined that the battery was bad and replaced it. They also noticed that the oil was empty and determined that it had been drained because there were no leaks. Ford was able to start the van without a problem, checked the alternator, and determined a bad battery was the issue. I then called Mr. Tire back and asked them about their diagnostic and how the van had had its oil drained and explained the battery issue. They investigated with the technician, who then claimed to have never touched the vehicle. I then asked why I was charged a diagnostic fee if they never touched the van. They could not explain this request and promised a follow-up, which didn't happen. So basically, what it comes down to is, either Mr. Tire lied about inspecting my vehicle and charged me a fee or Mr. Tire looked at my van, drained my oil, ignored the battery issue, and claimed the engine needed to be rebuilt when there was nothing wrong with the engine. In any case, this is indicative of either a dishonest service center or incompetent technicians. In any case avoid them. It is not worth the pain. read more

Before coming in for a synthetic oil change, I called your office and provided them with the year and model of my car. They confirmed everything and I purchased the service on Groupon.com. When I arrived, I was surprised to learn that you don't service new cars and didn't have the appropriate oil. I had specifically called beforehand and provided all the necessary information. This is a very disappointing experience. I requested a refund, but the lady informed me that since I purchased through Groupon, I should contact them directly. I will be leaving a negative review after I resolve the issue of getting my money back. read more

Had an emergency with one of my tires and needed it repaired along with my spare replaced. The managers were great there and took very good care of me. Since I was in a pinch and explained my situation, they offered me the best deal on 4 new tires to get me back on the road traveling that same night. The technicians were great and had me in and out within hours. Most tire shops don't have same-day solutions, but Mr. Tire did. The communication at the front desk is exceptional. read more

I question this shop's honesty. 7/17/24 I bought a Groupon for an oil change with a complementary tire rotation. I always secretly mark my tires before getting a rotation (I used to be in the car business). They gave me my car back without rotation, I had to call them out to get the rotation done. Today 8/12/24, my wife bought the same Groupon, oil change and rotation. I didn't know she was going to go here. Suprise (not!) they gave her car back with no rotation also, she had marked her tires as I had instructed her to...also, they added a bogus $25 service fee and an extra $20 for an oil filter...and she drives a CRV, not an expensive import! I'm kind of blown away by some of the reviews that I see here, they are completely opposite of the experience that I had there today Long story short I was in a pinch I needed a set of tires today, the tires for my car are pretty difficult to size and usually the dealer doesn't have the size and stock nor do most tire shops. the manager at this location took care of me, not only was he able to give me a great deal on a set of tires that they had in stock, but he was able to get me in and out within an hour. the waiting room was comfortable the staff was professional and I had absolutely zero complaints for the service that I received. I cannot recommend this shop enough an area where there are a lot of repair/tire shops to get work done. If you need tires or anything under the chassis definitely go here first. read more

Very disappointed with my experience today. I made an appointment to get an oil change and state inspection and to wait for my car. My appointment was at noon and I left two hours later with only the oil change done. After waiting over an hour I asked how much longer it would be and was told 20 more minutes. 30 minutes later I was told that the person that does the inspections had left to go to a doctors appointment and said he would be back in 20 minutes. But he hadn't returned and wasn't answering his phone. Why didn't you just tell me this instead of making me wait. I was so frustrated. I get if an emergency comes up but just be honest about it. So now I'm waiting at the Shell to get my inspection. What should have taken about an hour is now taking 2 and a half. read more

Terrible customer service I took a car there for inspection it failed for brakes and lights. No problem I personally fixed the problems and brought it back same day. They told me their inspector was off when he clearly was still there. So I tried two more times within the next 15 days and both times was told they were too busy. Now its been 17 days and they told me I had to pay again and have a new complete inspection. At first I thought ok... but they told me they couldn't get to it that day. So I went to sterling automotive service center. They took it same day. Why would I pay them again when it was their fault that my time limit was up. BS read more

I've been coming to this location for 15 years now, but not anymore. I recently had them replace my brakes and had to take the car back twice and it's still not fixed. After the initial brake service I noticed right away that the rear brakes were locking up and not releasing. They were running extremely hot, so I took it back to have them fix it again. When they gave the car back to me, they had fixed one side, but not the other so the problem continued. When I took it back a second time they said it would cost nearly $800 to replace the caliper (a $50 part). No thanks. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

If I can give MINUS 5 Stars I would. One star for this place is already 6 stars too high. BE WARNED, AVOID at ALL costs or you'll be paying out your pockets! This place is a SCAM! With a name like Mr. TIRE you would think they are professional with TIRES but the only thing they are professional with are cons, switch and baits, hustles, and swindles. Never have I been pushed into anything but this place feels like a sleazy used car dealership ....they are rude, insistent, and persistent. The customer is always wrong at this place. I came in to only PATCH a FLAT TIRE, not to pop my hood and check everything under it. I didn't ask for that and I will go to a real auto shop and a trustworthy mechanic for that. I went in with 1 flat issue, but they told me I had 4. Very very shady, I would even say they might have caused the other issues with my car because when I told him no the first time, the manager got angry and upset and then after minutes later, magically I got more issues. At this point they told me I should just get new tires at $300 a pop and TPMS sensors at $100, that's $1600 more not including the other charges they wanted from me. I'm not an idiot, my car is 3 years old and sensors last at minimum 7 years. You also can't hold any car hostage and add on new fees, that's ILLEGAL! Call the sheriff if they won't let you drive off. They wanted to charge me around $300 extra in fees, plus $1600 for new tires and tpms, after I came in just to get a flat tire fixed for only $40 which was already overpriced as other locations do it for $10-20. I didn't even asked how much labor will cost but at these prices why bother. Why have them fix it when the dealership cost less? Is it really a wonder why this place is falling apart, check out their world-class furniture and their high "2" Star rating. I always go to Walmart to get it done, but there was a snow storm and I was unfortunately around this area. The only thing I can hope for now is that some lucky driver reads my rating and avoid this place so their hard-earned cash doesn't get funneled into this corrupt place for crooks. My work employs hundreds of workers who work with a thousand of government workers in the area so guess what news will be spreading around at the water cooler. This little $40 charge is going to cost $$$'s in potential business for Mr. Tire and I personally guarantee none of my employees will ever set foot into this location again. But I'm sure you don't need my help to run this to the ground. *Special Tip* It doesn't help to convince people that they need repairs when you are rudely shouting over customers with a condescending attitude, whining like a big baby who lost his rattle, and then talk with your fellow co-workers in Spanish. Don't assume only you know Spanish. You also can't coerced people no matter how tough you try to pretend to be. Who do you think you are, El Chapo?! NO means NO means NO! My daughter took her 15 year old Lexus to the Davis Dr store for state inspection. The car was rejected for two burned out bulbs and a bad wiper blade. They wanted a hundred dollars to replace the bulbs and put on new wipers so she said no and brought it over to me. I looked it over and the wipers were fine and one of the bulbs they said was out was also fine. The license plate bulb was bad. Went to Advance Auto and bought a bulb for 3 bucks and it took all of 5 minutes to replace both bulbs for the rear plate. Savings of $97. Passed inspection with no issues at the Ashburn Goodyear. Mr. Tire would get ZERO stars if I could. Just because a young woman brings the car in they think it is a license for poor client service and a license to fraudulently charge for unnecessary work. What a rip off! Two years ago, I went to Mr tire to fix a repair in my right front tire. They said I had a nail in the side wall so I couldn't just patch it, I had to replace it completely. Since all four tires were pretty low on tread, I decided to buy the set of tires. Fast forward two years later, and my right tire was low again, so I took it back there. Correction, my father who isn't completely fluent in English took it there for me. They called me and told me that I had (any guesses?), that's right, a nail in the side wall. Is that the same line they try to pull on unsuspecting elderly Filipino men and pregnant women? They went on to say that because I have all-wheel drive I have to get all four tires replaced. It had only been two years and less than 15k miles on the tires. There is NO WAY I was willing to shell out that kind of cash. I called my husband and he said they were trying to take advantage of me and my dad and told us to get the hell out of there. On the way home, my dad stopped at shell gas, and they patched the tire for $20. Wth, Mr Tire? You have just lost a previously loyal customer. read more

After a regular check-up this week, BMW tells me I have wrong (nonstandard) size tires on my car. I was not notified that the tires I was purchasing at Mr. Tire in February were nonstandard at the time of the sale. I came in with some coupons from the internet and drove away with the wrong tires for my car. As it stands the shop, #597, will not refund me in exchange for returning the tires. It's a case of my word vs. their word. I am disappointed to have been duped like this after having been here for brake jobs, oil changes, balancing, and the purchase of a full set of tires for my last car. The 30 day return period is coming to a close and I want to settle this matter immediately. 30 day satisfaction guarantee doesn't apply when you're misled or not informed about what's being installed on your car. After taking my car to Mr. Tire and seeing the overpriced bill, I felt like I had just paid for Fendi sunglasses, but then saw they were knockoffs made in China. In other words, you can get standard car repairs done at standard rates elsewhere, and probably in less time. Mr. Tire gets two stars instead of one because the staff was very pleasant, and they fixed the problem. But their pricing seriously needs to be reevaluated. Failed my VA State Inspection (which was 3 months overdue) because my 2011 Prius needed 4 new tires and 2 rear brake pads & rotors. I am short on funds after paying mega$$ for high-priced coursework, so I was looking for a bargain without sacrificing quality. After checking prices and tire selection of several stores online, I called this Mr. Tire because I'd gone there once several years ago, they had the tires I was looking for in stock, and they weren't too far away. Dave, the person I spoke to, was very friendly and knowledgable, said they could do the work while I waited and he would gladly take my "Entertainment" coupon. He encouraged me to come right on over---which I did. Once I got there, Dave recognized my voice as "the guy with the Prius", honored the price he quoted on the phone, and was very polite and friendly. I only had to wait about two hours, he didn't charge me for any unnecessary extras (like an alignment I didn't need, even though they checked it), and the price was--again--what he'd quoted. I got some great tires and new brakes at a reasonable price and fast, friendly service. I don't know about other Mr. Tire locations, but I highly recommend this one! read more

This is the worst possible place you want to go for VA safety inspection. I took my car for safety inspection and was told that it failed because of light bulbs for rear license plates, and rear brake pads. Offered to repair the issue for $219 for brakes only and I'm assuming maybe another $20 - $50 for light bulbs, I declined the service because it's way too much given the simplicity, of the rear brakes and also it literally requires 20 minutes to install pads. Brake pads u can get right around. $40 So I went and picked up my car with a rejection sticker, paid $16 and I was told if I fix those issues they will rein spect my car for just $1.00. Got the issues fixed the next day, which btw the brakes were not worn out enough to fail inspection. They had a good 10 k miles left. I called the place and told them about my car being there the day before so they can recognize me, the person who answered the phone made every possible effort to make it as inconvenient as possible. and he was contradicting himself about the procedures, when I questioned the legitimacy of his claims, he simply said" we have your information we know who you are and your car, don't come here or we are going to call the cops" I was like what about my $16? He said don't come here. Then I called Loudoun county sheriffs office and asked for help. The officer met me at the location and after talking to them he was surprised and said " they said you threatened them yesterday that's why you are not welcome there" If this place can go thru so many lies and manipulation for just a brake service and then $16 worth of inspection, imagine as a repeat customer how much could you be robbed for overtime. If I'd read these reviews first I probably wouldn't have gone there, but they were open on Labor Day and I needed my car inspected. I was suspect of the place, but the people are really great inside. The overall feeling I got is I won't be back, but I feel I got tires which I am happy with. I wanted to replace them anyway. So the story is that I went there for inspection and was told I failed because of tire tread. I wasn't sure if it was true, but I wanted new tires anyway. $600 when I was expecting to pay $25 this morning. Unfortunately I have to say that it seems to be a pattern of people reporting failing inspections and the getting a hefty bill, but In my case I ok'd 4 tires and I probably could have gotten away with only spending $100. Why 4 stars? The prices are not super competitive, the speed of service is fast, the quality of service was good, customer service is good, and there are some knowledge experts there. I needed the synthetic blend, however, they were out of the synthetic blend, so, they put it in the full synthetic and only charged me for the blend. I was in and out in less than an hour. I've been bringing my cars here for years -- even back to the Curry's Auto days and they've always treated me right. Recently I had a car which suddenly developed braking problems (even though I had the brakes recently replaced at this location). Took it in and originally we thought it had a bad master brake cylinder. But further testing still showed a problem. They did some research and found a recall on a brake controller board, recommended I take it to the dealer and didn't even charge me. Printed the recall notice for me to take over. Dealer just called confirming the issue, they will replace the component gratis. That was a $3K component -- not even counting the labor. Thanks guys, that's why I bring the cars here and will continue to do so. read more

Awesome service by the Mr. Tire team! I had a leak in my tire. I called the shop and was immediately answered by Victor who informed me of what could be done, how long it would take, and pricing. Once I arrived, I was immediately checked in and notified that my tire only needed a patch job. I had informed him I was going straight from there to New York and they quickly patched my tire, inspected my car for further issues that may complicate my trip, and had me on my way in a timely manner. I bought tires from TireRack and had them delivered to Mr. Tire because it was close to work and my coworker had recommended them. Richard who I dealt with on the phone and in person was one of the friendliest people I've met. They said they'd check my alignment to see if it was off and it would be $100 if it wasn't right. I expected them to find out it was off but they said it was perfect and didn't need to be tweaked. Best of all the charge came out even lower than the TireRack estimate. Highly recommend this shop, granted I bought my tires online. I will try them out for a different service in the future. read more
