"Gooey" is absolutely used in a complimentary way here. Where other big-name bakeries might make "gooey" cookies that just seem underdone, the softness of the cookies here is very intentional, well done, and lives up to the bakery name. Their thick cookies are fun and reminiscent of Levain Bakery, but their Bazookies are where they really shine (their version of BJ Pizookies). They can turn any of their cookie flavors into a Bazookie, and the consistency and flavor are second to none. As a self-proclaimed cookie connoisseur, I think Half Baked Goodness makes the best cookies in Houston. Tiny's is strong competition, but their cookies are completely different. Anyone with a sweet tooth will definitely find something to love here. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 5+++/5 - Service: 5/5

Forget about Crumbl, where the excessive mounds of icing try to mask dry & unremarkable cookies…read more Instead, you need to run (not walk) to this little cookie spot that knows how to do cookies right!!! Half Baked Goodness is indeed so good!!! The namesake "half baked" style equates to a THICCC, gooey cookie base that resembles a brookie (fudgy brownie + chewy cookie lovechild). Each GIGANTIC cookie (I'm telling ya, they weigh a brick and the size of my hand) is loaded with chips/toffee/special ingredients or schmeared with just the right amount of topping. I am obsessed with the Creme Brûlée, but I've tried some insanely good flavors from their rotating seasonal menu/weekly flavor features! While I have my top faves, I honestly think ALL the cookies are done well and worth trying! Do yourself a favor and grab a variety box. Bet you'll have a tough time picking a favorite, too. I keep making my way back here for a sweet tooth pit stop.... Also worth mentioning is the staff here are always very friendly, and the owners take a lot of pride in this location. They exude wholesome energy & lots of love. Hands down, THE BEST cookie shop around!

We have been wanting to try Eden Table and finally did. We visited on a Friday night about 6:30 PM…read more We were greeted with smiles and sat promptly. The restaurant offers a comfortable yet semi elegant environment and feel. No need to dress up, but I wouldn't wear your worst. The menu offers kids meals but this is a date night place. Alma was our waitress and provided excellent service! We started with an old school gin martini. Gin, splash of vermouth, an olive and a twist of lemon. The first one was terrible. The bartender added lemon juice to it when we wanted lemon twist. That said, they made it right and it turned out delicious! We ordered the calamari to go along with our drink, but got the calamari early, so we had to eat it while it was hot. Needless to say, it took a while for our drink to come out and then be remade. The calamari was good. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my other half ordered the petit filet. Presentation on the plate was great! The chicken fried steak was good, but very thin. The mashed potatoes and green beans were great. The wedge salad my other half got with his steak was wonderful. The blue cheese was very mild and excellent (and I'm not a blue cheese fan)! The petit filet was cooked perfectly but the risotto was clumpy and mushy. I hate to say this, but the steak was good, but not $50 good. My other half said it was kind of bland. Overall, this is a good little place. We do plan to go back and try other menu items like the seafood tacos or the almond crusted red snapper. We also want to enjoy the live pianist on Thursday nights. Give it a go!

We had to track down our server who then had to also be the bartender despite the fact that there were multiple people in the kitchen that could have assisted him. It was kind of frustrating because while we were in the midst of our food our friend who did arrive about ten minutes behind did not even get her drink order. I did appreciate that he specifically pointed out that due to the size of our group, they already added gratuity. I think there is less of an issue with this particular server as opposed to all the other people that could have helped him. Food: I enjoyed all the food and the drinks. I did the chicken satay, which wasn't traditional for what I'm used to from Singapore but it seemed like everyone in my group enjoyed it. I also did the lotus leaf which was absolutely delicious. Venue: this place almost doesn't deserve to be in the woodlands, and more feels like it would be more appreciated in houston. I absolutely thought it was fantastic and loved it. And loved all the care that went into it. Value: I had two happy hour beers and three appetizers, and my bill was less than fifty. I was totally full and had room for leftovers. The next day. I think everyone should try this place. It is a unique experience with lots of different foods.

Ordered Prickly Pear Mezcal margarita, Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing light IPA beer, cup of Cream of Cauliflower Soup, Caprese Panini on Focaccia bread with Herbed Fries, West Coaster Panini (Ham, Avocado, Arugula) on Ciabatta bread with Herbed Fries, and a Coffee Fudgy Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream to go. Service was fantastic with our server (Will) being very knowledgeable and friendly. Drinks and food arrived quickly and were fantastic - the drinks were on point, the food ample in quantity and flavorful in taste. The Fudgy Brownie was divine! Well-done! As I mention above, the final tally was a bit shocking. Otherwise, a great place to hang out; planning to return to avail of the Mon/Tue $25 Wine and Bruschetta Board special.

[EDIT only to correct to "Postino"]…read more I use the one-stars sparingly, I really do. This has nothing to do with the food, as we never got that far in the course of my miserable experience at this location (not sure if it's a chain or not). Walked into a relatively quiet restaurant somewhat later in the evening after strolling a bit in the summer Houston heat around the Woodlands. A couple of people recommended Postino. The issue arose when I asked for a possible menu modification. Specifically, I was trying to avoid GOAT CHEESE on the meatball dish I had my eyes on (which otherwise looked pretty tempting). The server indicated that they probably couldn't do it but I nevertheless requested this... a couple of minutes later the server returned with the bad news. Apparently, it simply had to be served as-is, according to the menu. This in itself wouldn't have got me to the point of writing this review. However, I, incredulous, was kind of laughing (you have to laugh) and said something like "so I can only order exactly what's on the menu, and the kitchen can't do anything different?" (slight paraphrasing, perhaps). There wasn't much further conversation with the server but within about 30 seconds of this exchange, a "manager" stormed over to the table and borderline-abusively shouted "is there a problem?!". This "mini-manager" as I will refer to her, proceeded to inform me that they could NOT accommodate changes because it would "violate the integrity of the restaurant" ... I of course I also found a bit humorous, and in this state inquired further about what sense it made to be so obnoxiously strict for someone just trying to grab a quick bite about 30 minutes before closing. I'm sensitive to the work involved in running restaurants and serving obnoxious customers, but I was NOT rude, obnoxious, or difficult. Just blown away by this treatment. I was then informed by the mini-manager that she was from LONDON which I assume meant I should accept that her cosmopolitan background and (I assume vast and high-level culinary experience) meant that I should shut my trap and stop being so picky. At this point I was compelled to mention that I, too, grew up overseas and was very surprised at this complete lack of flexibility. Within another 30 seconds or so of this dialogue, the mini-manager tipped the menu over on the table and abruptly shouted, "you know what, I'm refusing you service!" That made it all easy from there as we promptly (while laughing, partly out of shock) exited the facility. Huge disappointment and embarrassing in my view for a restaurant that seems otherwise to have maintained a great reputation - and especially so for the fact that service (and people in general) in Houston tend to be kind and accommodating, not typically RUDE or reactionary. I'm encouraging this restaurant to have a look at the service model. I can't say I'll try Postino again the next time I'm in Houston, but I certainly hope it continues to truly earn its 4.5 star rating, 'cause they sure did NOT when I was there this weekend.

There was live music playing outside, but we chose to sit indoors that day. The hostess opened the front door right away to show us inside. My wife ordered the blackened flounder with two sides, southern green beans and the sweet potato cakes, because the server recommended it. I also went with the server's suggestions and ordered the Wagyu chicken fried steak with bacon jalapeno mac-n-cheese and jalapeno cream corn. It might not have been the healthiest choice, but I wanted to enjoy the evening. lol My wife really liked the blackened flounder. The green beans were a bit more overcooked than she liked, though. The chicken fried steak was outstanding and very tender. I liked that the delicious gravy came on the side so the steak stayed crispy. The sides were also outstanding. The GM (Glen, sp?) came to say hello because it was our first time there. I told him everything was wonderful and that we would come back. For the price, I expected something significantly better. Charging $14 for a slice of cake that tastes this average feels like a complete ripoff. I left disappointed and frustrated with the purchase and will not be returning. To make matters worse, they don't even accept tap-to-pay or Apple Pay. In 2026, that's an unnecessary inconvenience and shows a lack of investment in the customer experience. Between the overpriced, mediocre dessert and the outdated payment options, this was a thoroughly disappointing visit.
