I live in a 2-story condo. I called 3 roofers when I developed a small leak. Albert with Mr. Roofer was the most thorough. He went into the attic, then onto the roof and back into the attic. The morning before the roofers came Albert went into the attic to mark the spot. I do not have drop down steps to my attic so he had to carry in his ladder each time. I called the main office to explain my situation and was told "well he isn't working today so... we can't really do anything". No apologies, no "we'll try to make this right". Called in the morning to set up a time to get an estimate on a new roof. An awkward and young receptionist robotically asked me questions off of a questionnaire and ended with "Someone will get back to you." 6 hours later at 4:45pm I have a missed call and email from an Angela. The next day, I call back and it's the useless receptionist again. She said she'd take my message to Angela. Nothing back from Angela, and then today I get a phone call from some random girl saying, "Someone said you wanted a call back?" And I said, yes, Angela was supposed to call me back. I need an estimate. And after a very long pause (I almost hung up during this pause), she says, "Oh I see... it'll be $450 for an estimate." Nope! During the 3 days this took I had already scheduled another roofer on the first phone call to do an estimate for free. Why is it so difficult to get a simple response about setting up an estimate?? read more

We made 4 appointments trying to get an estimate and we were waiting for hours. We were assigned to "Josh" and we never got a call from him to say anything. We have them 2 phone numbers and none of them were used. So disappointing that a company does business like that. read more

STILL PROCESSING THIS ONE! . Roofer of Atlanta was a company that I recently contracted to repair water damage to a portion of my roof. I liked the initial consult because the Manager arrived in his service truck and dressed to tackle a problem. His assistant Josh immediately removed the ladder and climbed up on the roof to assist with the assessment. The manager was very straight forward in terms of what was observed and what needed to be done. He submitted a detailed estimate, (written by Josh) along with photos. So, on the day of service I ask if Josh will be doing the work, he says no that Josh will only be dropping off the materials and that his repair crew will be doing the work and I say that I simply need to know that the crew who shows up has been totally briefed and has a clear understanding of what is to be done. His response: "We do this every day". A little snarky and kind of funny but only if we have an established relationship. I am a new customer and what I needed to here is this: "I am very confident in my crew, they have been with me for ten years, they are well trained and we have never had a dissatisfied client. I guarantee their work". THAT'S WHAT A NEW CUSTOMER WANTS TO HERE. If anyone gets uncomfortable with me asking questions about work on my home, when I am paying them, I am going to see a red flag go up! Incidentally, my husband (Mr. Rogers), was sitting next to me and started getting nervous because I was asking relevant questions. He calls it micro-managing and I call it asking intelligent questions which is why he is not allowed to do the hiring of contractors. Here is the problem with the "every day" response: That cook who screwed up your meal last night cooks every day, the lawn care guy who massacred your precious flowers, grooms lawns every day and that guy who jacked-up your car repair, goes to work every day. Every day is no guarantee of competence. Yes, you are confident in your workers but that confidence needs to transfer to the homeowner so that there is peace of mind. We run a few errands and when we return home the guys are working on the roof. We attempt to engage them before we realize that there is a language barrier. Uggghh! This means that I don't get to grill them like I want to. Thank God, my daughter arrives and she is able to explain to one of the guys that I am nosy and I want to know about "that" specific material. The guy smiles and confirms what I am thinking. I let it go and decide to just trust the process because I don't want the guys to get nervous or feel uncomfortable. I deliver their water and disappear. Incidentally, when people are working in or outside of my home, I always like to introduce myself, get their names and offer them a beverage. When it's appropriate, we also engage in conversation and I realize that this is not a common practice but it is how I do business. This is just a common courtesy to everyone. ***Also, the more I know about the crew, their knowledge and experience, the better I feel. Just know that the job really boils down to the specific crew. For example, my friend had some work done with a specific company based on the recommendations of his friends who had great results. However, it was evident that they had very different crews because my friend's results were horrible. So, if you like the work, don't just get the name of the business, get the name of the crew when possible. ***When it comes to business, I am very much about building relationships because I tend to use the same businesses repeatedly and want to be able to recommend them to others. I can honestly say that the guys worked hard and did a fair job, (they didn't match the existing shingles!) and this is not okay. Make a point to see your shingles prior to installation. 7/2/18 EUREKA! After spending a couple of days processing this interaction, I figured out the problem: impersonal service. Today, companies do all they need to do to make the sale and get paid. This company actually told me that I could just leave the check under the doormat. Really? Is that what we are doing these days? I would NEVER do that because we like to actually hand the check over and say Thank You. It is sad that basic courtesies are now just considered "old school" or unnecessary. I say give me old school any day! This is yet another reason why I try to stick with smaller businesses and individuals because you get an entirely different level of service and I LOVE good service. ***On Monday afternoon, I receive a call from Albert stating that he is "on his way" to do the final inspection and asking if some will be available so that he can pick up the final check. Once I let him know that the check was given to his employees, I never hear from him again. For the lack of integrity and no final inspection, this business only gets two stars. read more

I would not recommend. I complained about their completed job and asked them to come review. They refused to even look at it and completely dismissed my concerns before rudely driving off. I was flabbergasted. I would have paid for additional work if it was needed. Terrible, dismissive customer service. (This was my second hire of them too!) I would have hired them again too! I originally had Brad from Mr. Roofer come out to look at a leaky sky light. Sadly he ended up informing me that my skylight needed to be completely replaced. I stuck with him since he was the only person that even bothered to get up on the roof before giving me an estimate. I ended up having him give me a quote for both a new skylight and a new roof since I knew that my roof was going to need to be replaced within the next two years anyway. His quote for the new roof was extremely competitive with another roofer I had out weeks before and one from a year before when the skylight was originally patched up. Despite the bad weather we were having at the time Brad and his guys replaced my roof within a week and a half of signing the papers. Both the roof and skylight look fantastic. I haven't had any problems with either and it's been about 6 months now. My only side comment would be that it would have been nice to have a heads up about when the supplies were showing up to the house. The supplies very quickly showed up at our house while we were at work one day. Thankfully my wife and I didn't carpool that day or one of our cars may have been stuck in the garage until the dumpster was picked up. read more

I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about Mr. Roofer Atlanta. I highly recommend this company and if you want to hear why, read on for details....My husband and I bought our house in October 2013. Being first-time homeowners, we had no idea that the gutters installed on the house at that time were shoddy, DIY gutters, with ill-placed gutter screens. Soon after, we realized there was a huge problem, as the basement kept filling up with 3-4 inches of water every time it rained (this lovely summer rain never seems to let up!). Furthermore, when we looked out the windows, we could see that water was literally pouring over the sides of the gutters, as well as behind the gutters- they were doing absolutely nothing to catch and direct water to the downspouts. The water was running down the side of the house and pooling around the foundation and then finding its way to the basement. In addition to all of this, several pieces of the fascia boards and soffits were severely warped/rotted from all the water damage. Horrible. So in late May 2014, Angie's List set us up with our first estimate from Mr. Roofer Atlanta. I checked out their website and was really pleased with what I found - pictures of all the employees, a gallery of photos of completed work, as well as rave reviews from previous clients. I was also happy to see that they are licensed and insured. Brad Thomason, the owner, called me promptly to set up an appointment at our house to assess our gutter situation. He was punctual, professional, and thorough when he arrived for our appointment. He took the necessary measurements, he said he would work up an estimate and email it to us, which he did within 24 hours. The estimate listed all work to be completed, the materials to be used, orders to haul away all debris and leave our property clean, as well as a 1 year labor warranty. My husband and I were sold on Mr. Roofer after we met with Brad, but we wanted to make sure we were being thorough and so decided to let Angie's List set us up with two more contractors, just so we could have a point of comparison. This was a HUGE waste of time - I'm not going to spend too much time detailing our interactions with the other two companies. I couldn't get one company to call me back for almost a week, and the estimate was in the format of a 3-line, email paragraph. The other company was equally as much of a joke (I don't even know how these other companies have A and B ratings on Angie's List!). I write all of this to illustrate that prompt communication, professionalism and thoroughness are CRUCIAL when you are preparing to spend thousands of dollars with a company for home repairs, and HANDS DOWN, Mr. Roofer was clearly the winner in each of these categories! We hadn't even hired them yet to do the work! Finally, in August, we had our funds ready and called Mr. Roofer to set up a time to begin work. We signed the estimate and sent our 50% deposit. After some coordinating, they were able to schedule the work within a week of receiving our deposit. Brad called to let me know that Bert would be performing our work, and that he had known and worked with Bert for 14 years. On the scheduled day, Bert and his associate showed up and immediately started work. Bert was very professional, friendly, and even took the time to answer all of my annoying questions throughout the day. At one point, I was inside my house and could hear Bert outside telling his associate to make sure the gutter was "perfect." That made me smile! Once the gutters were up and the rotten wood was replaced, my husband and I went outside to inspect everything. The gutters looked AMAZING. We had selected a dark bronze color and it perfectly matched the trim and color of our house! The rotten wood had also been replaced - this was not an easy task, as only certain pieces needed to be replaced, so they had to cut into these areas and insert new wood. It looked seamless. And they had already picked up all the trash and old gutters and loaded it, so our property was clean. Brad called the next day to follow-up and ask how everything went. He also said he would be coming out to do a post-installation inspection, which again, just illustrates this company's professionalism. The real test came a few days later when it POURED, and my husband and I rushed outside with our umbrellas to see how the gutters were working. No spill-over! And it has rained at least 5 times since the installation, and THE BASEMENT IS BONE DRY! YAY! The whole process with Brad and his team from Mr. Roofer, from start to finish, was seamless and extremely pleasant, and I will have no problems recommending this company to my neighbors and friends. I had 2 other companies supposedly "fix" the problem only for it to start leaking again after a decent rainstorm. It has been almost 6 months since he repaired my roof and not a problem since, even after this bad snow storm we just had.
