When our house suffered fire damage, we were in one of the most vulnerable and stressful moments of our lives. Clint presented himself as a faith-driven businessman who genuinely wanted to help families in crisis. That presentation could not have been further from the truth. From the start, we were pressured into signing a vague work authorization contract with little time to review it. What followed was months of frustration, unprofessionalism, and what I can only describe as predatory billing. When it came time for invoices, it took nearly two months of repeated calls and escalated emails to receive anything itemized. When we -- and our insurance adjuster -- asked basic, reasonable questions about the charges (fuel costs for a job less than 10 miles from their office, over 70 hours of labor and project management fees for a muck-out of a home under 2,000 sq ft), Clint became personally defensive and aggressive. Rather than answer the questions, he treated legitimate billing inquiries as personal attacks. The result: we were left paying approximately $10,000 out of pocket to cover the gap between what our insurance reimbursed and what Mr. Restore invoiced. For a family already dealing with a devastating loss, that is an unconscionable outcome. This company targets people at their lowest point, hides behind faith-based messaging, and then makes it as difficult as possible to hold them accountable when the numbers don't add up. I would strongly urge anyone considering Mr. Restore to hire a different restoration company -- and to carefully read every word of any contract before signing anything. To anyone reading this: take a few minutes and look at how this company responds to any review that isn't five stars. The pattern speaks for itself -- zero accountability, zero ownership, and a reflexive need to blame the customer for every negative experience. It is completely unsurprising, and entirely consistent with what we lived through. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. This company is the very definition of the shadiest, most overpriced, disrespectful contractors that Dallas has had the misfortune of being overwhelmed with. Stay away at all costs. My experience with them has been an absolute nightmare. They robbed my insurance company blind and left my house in pieces. I made the colossal mistake of bringing them to my home in August of 2020 for water damage to my attic from a drain pipe leak and they tore off my door frames, some flooring, and punched a massive hole in my ceiling. They then ran some heavy-duty fans for 3 days, collected them, and I never saw them again. My insurance paid them more than 3200 dollars for this amateur half-done work. The water-damaged crooked plywood in the attic was left for me with my belongings half-destroyed, thrown into a corner, as I was not there to monitor their work, but at work, making an honest living. The only time I ever heard from them again was when they caught wind of my complaints to my insurance agency and my agent, my actual insurance agent, felt so bad for me that she awarded me an extra amount to help get the house back to normal and they had the audacity to then finally contact me shortly after... after 7 months of waiting. DO NOT HIRE Unless you want a lien on your property despite insurance paying them - BLACKMAILERS For a (category 1) leak in the house, they billed the insurance over $11,000 which after a lot of negotiations, the insurance paid then they after being paid that, they went back & "resubmitted their invoice"for $22,000 instead to which the insurance denied & then they started Blackmailing to put a lien on the property. It has been almost a year since I had to have this company come out and do restoration work. As you can read my previous review the workers were amazing but the billing is awful. Since then I've had more emails and constant request to pay the difference that was never agreed to. I have a repeatedly asked them to contact my insurance as that is who they should be dealing with. They have refused to lift the lien against me even though I have in writing the agreement for the lower amount which we already paid 100% in full. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY!! read more

Got home from Hawaii to a broken water heater. Search Yelp for cleanup and tear down some drywall and found Mr Restore. The guys that came out were friendly and seem professional. They tear down the drywall, spray some stuff to kill anything growing, and setup fans/dehumidifiers. Tell me they will be back in a few days to check up. Came back after the weekend and said it's still wet and the fans and equipment needs to stay. After a couple more days, they remove the fans. Next is the repairing of my walls/carpet. After the guys took the equipment away, I discussed with them that the insurance adjuster would be coming out to do an estimate and they said to call them to come out too so they can help with it. When I find out the date, I called and left a message asking them to come out. Morning of the estimate, I have not heard from Mr Restore so I give them a call. They sound surprised about the request and tell me they will send a guy. The insurance adjuster gets to my home on time and Mr Restore isn't there yet so we begin examining the damage. 10 minutes into it, Ty (Mr Restore) shows up. He tells me he has no idea about what the situation is with my home, just received the info. So he was no help and basically stood there and nodded his head to my conversation with the adjuster. The adjuster finishes looking at the damage and then recommended a vendor for floor estimate. Ty and I stood there and nodded our heads. Adjuster and Ty leave, not much assistance from having Mr Restore come out like they said. Couple of weeks, nothing from Mr Restore. I get update emails from their automated system when they enter new notes into the system, so I see they have been in contact with my insurance company to argue over billing ($1400 difference in their comparisons for the cleaning), but no calls to me about any updates. Finally I see a note in the system about a conversation they had with my insurance: "Called Allison (adjuster) to request their scope or repairs. She sent it to me and let me know they already had a program vendor repair the floors. I let her know we would be billing her insured the overhead and profit on that flooring since we had a contract to repair it." Wait a minute. I was confused on what just happened so I call my insurance and she tells me that the flooring guy that came out was a vendor to do a scope (estimate) and repairs. That if I already had a vendor (Mr Restore), they should've done the lab work. I tell her ok well I wasn't aware of that and I am trying to have one company take care of everything from beginning to end for less paperwork headache. She tells me I can call and cancel on the preferred vendor. I call Mark (Mr Restore) and ask him about the situation, he said he wasn't sure what happened and would get with Ty about it, but hey if the check for the cleaning comes in, send it to them. 11 days go by and no communication with me, but new notes on arguing over getting more cleaning money still. The check comes in, I'm upset I have not heard anything from them through this whole process, so I call Mark and let him know the check is in the mail. He said thanks and he needs my wife's signature for work authorization. I tell him I will not be using their services for repairs and inquired about the flooring mishap with Ty again. He still hadn't found out what happened. Just said, "Ok, you don't want us to repair? No Problem. Bye." 2.5 weeks later (yesterday), I receive an email stating I need to pay them $832 for: "The contract is changed as follows: Admin invoice; Flooring Estimate: overhead $211.96 and profit $211.96 Repairs Estimate: overhead $204.00 and profit $204.00" I'm confused, what estimate did they do because the guy they sent just stood there. After looking over the documentation, it seems that they were charging me for breaking a contract (the one Mark had asked me to get my wife to sign). I called Mark and asked him about it, he said I had signed the contract previously, but they needed her signature for insurance purposes and not for their contract. I asked when I signed this contract, he said when Ty came to meet with the adjuster. I told him I don't recall signing anything and I'll have to look at the contract. I get back to the document, look it over, there was a signature, but it wasn't mine. I look at it, then examine the information, the geotag was manually turned off (default NYC location). After disputes of the authenticity of the authorization, I contacted Clint, the owner, to discuss the issues I was having with his company. Clint was out of town at a conference and says he would look into it, but assures they did work for me on repairs including getting me more money on the scopes, contacting my adjuster over scope, etc. I call my adjuster and she said she has not spoken to them about repairs at all and never received a scope or anything countering their claim. I had a huge mess when I woke up just days before Thanksgiving 2020. Water was pouring into my kitchen from under the sink. I called everyone I knew to help. The sun was not up yet. Bobby Meyers got to my home really quickly and went right to work helping me get the water sucked out from under my cabinets. He was there and knew just what to do. It was complicated due to my family expecting to enjoy a nice Holliday meal in my home. My big concern was for the mold that surely would grow if left beneath the cabinets. Bobby had this big blower like an octopus that had to blow for several says and Thanksgiving was a bust. The good part is that Mr Restore had the equipment to keep the mold from growing. I am an asthmatic and my biggest fear was that this flood could make me have a sick house to live it. We had a pipe burst in our wall in the evening. Clint and Stephen came out to get the carpet up, move the furniture, remove the pad, and start the drying process. They were very friendly and helpful. They checked in on our project every 1 or 2 days to see if the drying process was complete. Each employee that came out was great and very helpful. Their portal allowed us to keep up to date with our project and then Mark worked with us on the billing side. This was not an insurance claim, so they were very helpful in explaining all the charges and what we need to do to get the repairs done. When you get the call that your water heater has burst...trust me, you panic! My water heater is located in the attic on the second floor, which mean water is pouring through the ceiling, down the walls, and flooding the entire downstairs, while saturating the carpet and wood floors. I immediately went to www.TheGoodContractorsList.com and found the amazing guys at Mr. Restore. Did I mention this was a Sunday afternoon and that did not stop the quick response. I talked to Clint, the owner, and he dispatched his crew immediately. They assessed the situation and then started to remedy the situation. They rolled in 26 industrial fans, 3 dehumidifiers, a thermal imaging camera that allowed them to calculate the moisture behind the walls without having to tear out the drywall. Five days later, my house was dry, and because they were able to dry in place, there was minimal repairs required. They were truly professional and understanding. Mr. Restore has an incredible program that sends updates everyday, with pictures and progress made, and the moisture readings that provided reassurance to me and my family. I did not know who to call, but I will tell you now, I recommend Mr. Restore over and over again...call them! read more

I called Mr. Restore after the connector on the toilet fill-line cracked and flooded our house. I called at 11pm, but the first guy didn't arrive until about 11:40-11:45p. The first thing we asked when he walked in was what the cost was to come here, and he said it was "nothing". We then asked how they calculate their rate for service. He said he didn't know, that we would have to wait and talk to the supervisor who's on his way. He and another technician didn't arrive until 12:20-12:30a. The first thing we asked him was about cost. He said it depends on the size of the job and equipment needed. When they were done checking things out, we asked what the cost would be and he said $9,000-$12,000! We were flabbergasted! We said thank you, we don't want to waste your time, what do we owe for tonight? He said the billing dept would send an invoice, but it's usually about $150. The first guy was here for 1 hr and 20 min. The other two guys were here less than 40 min. You can imagine my face when I was emailed an invoice for $1,587!! Let me say that when I Googled Emergency Water Service, Mr. Restore had an ad that came up that said, "Serving the Frisco Area", with a 469 area code, so I thought they were in Frisco. I didn't realize they were in Denton. I immediately called and talked to the owner, who said he hadn't seen the invoice, but is sure it's not that far off. A couple days later, after I got my insurance involved, I got an adjusted invoice for $1,287. I asked another emergency water service how much their late night call would be and they said $180. My insurance says that a "Reasonable & Customary" charge for an emergency call is under $250, so I don't know HOW Mr. Restore thinks $1300. is fair when all they did was provide an estimate. I feel like they're taking advantage of someone in an emergency situation and would warn ANYONE, before having them come out, to get something in writing up front!!!! I've asked many people and 2 companies and informed them of the bill I got and they all say, "that's RIDICULOUS!" read more

Honestly these guys were incredible. Professional, courteous, responsive, and thorough. They even went above and beyond when the incompetent technicians sent from the A/C company failed to repair the leak in the attic. The workers themselves were professional, polite and did a great job. Just like the previous reviewer the problem is with the bill. They charged overhead and profit as if they did a general contractor job and this was not the case. Following a water loss in our home they used their own employees to dry the areas and tear out what needed to be torn out. Since the bill had not come yet I thought I'd use them for the restoration part. They had me sign papers before giving an estimate. Now I learn that the paperwork guaranteed them the job and if I cancel the contract they still get paid!! I've been fighting this bill for a week now. He took time to explain the details of his findings, and gave honest, true advice. There is no fee to have this company come out and examine. Beware ... These guys will rip you off. When they arrived, they were very friendly and I felt like I was being taken care of. I asked them for a quote on the cost when they arrived and was told .. Don't worry about it ... Insurance will cover it. All they did was wet vac up some water and Set up 9 fans and a couple of humidifiers for 3 days. After that, they billed my insurance $4,100 ... They are lucky to have received one star from me and that's only because the guys onsite were friendly and did a great job in a timely manner. Here's where it goes wrong. I'm convinced that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing inside this operation. From my initial call to Clint J., I requested both mitigation work and an estimate to restore the property to its pre loss condition. Once mitigation was completed they all acted stupid when I inquired about the restoration. I don't believe this company is capable of doing anything other than mitigation work. Now their invoicing; I think someone needs to inform Mr. Restore that they only get paid for the work they do, not erroneous claims of work that they attempt to scam out of the Insurance Companies. They claim their hours of operation are 24/7 yet during normal business hours they attempt to bill for after hour rates. Fortunately I used to be an Xactimate (estimating software used by the Insurance industry) Estimator for the insurance industry and know how to read their estimates. They add a lot of fluff in their billing which is just scamming the insurance companies. I don't recommend using this company as Clint is extremely unprofessional and tends to make up stories in his own mind to justify why things are not followed through with properly.
