Ther are many, many other things I could mention. The project took over eight months instead of the four promised, with work gaps of days and sometimes weeks. I met with the PM three times to create a timeline, but they fell behind every time. The only reason he gave was schedule conflicts with other jobs. One positive: Guillermo and Jose were responsive and fully guaranteed their work. They made sure I was satisfied with the end product before ending the project.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. CWF is a predatory restoration company that will max out your insurance claim, leaving you to cover the costs out of pocket. If you refuse to sign their exploitative contracts, they will threaten legal action against you. This is a legal scam at its finest. I have proof to support every claim emails, Ring camera footage, contracts, screenshots, and screen recordings. They manipulate their online reputation by deleting legitimate negative reviews. But I document everything. * Stephaine G's Yelp review? Gone. Screenshot attached. * Katie S and Nate E's Chicago Google reviews? Deleted. Screenshot attached. * Marc M, Corey D, and H9's Houzz reviews? Erased. Screenshot attached. I hired CWF on July 23, 2024, to restore my home after a fire. While my house wasn't physically damaged, it had significant smoke damage. They sent over a guy named Mike, and the first thing he asked was how much my insurance premium was, saying "we" were going to max it out. Being new to the restoration process, I didn't fully grasp the gravity of that statement at the time. They prey on homeowners' inexperience to take advantage of them. I hired them for full-service restoration, including cleaning and repairing my home, as well as storing and cleaning my belongings. Like Stephanie G and many others, I experienced their deliberate property damage--on three separate occasions, they intentionally damaged my home and lied about it. Their goal is simple: cause more damage, prolong the work, and max out your insurance claim. When I caught on to their scheme, I fired them. At that point, all they had done was bring in machines to remove smoke, remove AC insulation, and paint the attic an awful white. For this minimal work, they billed me over $60K. Since no real renovations had been done, I reported them to the insurance fraud department. My insurance company sent an auditor, who disputed their inflated charges, forcing them to lower the bill to $48K. On top of that, they charged me $13K for moving and storing my belongings for just four weeks--again, their goal is to drain your insurance funds so you end up paying out of pocket. When I fired them, CWF refused to return my belongings unless I signed a contract prohibiting me from writing this review. When I refused, they brought in a Better Call Saul-style lawyer to threaten me into signing. This ordeal dragged on from July to October 2024, causing immense mental anguish. They only released my belongings when I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau. WARNING TO CWF If you remove this review like you did with Stephanie G (Yelp) Marc M, Corey D, H9 (Houzz) Katie S & Nate E (Google reviews - Chicago location), I will report your business to Google every single day until it's permanently taken down. If real paying customers like me can't share our experiences, then your fake reviews shouldn't stay up either. CWF are cowards!! They had yelp removed the screenshot I mentioned. Look on Better Business Bureau Chicago CWF, it is full of customers who filed complaints against them. I added more screenshots of them threatening and harassing me. We had a leak behind our washing machine. The leak ruined the sheetrock and it had mold that concerned us. CWF Restoration was recommended to us. Two young men from the company came and removed the moldy sheetrock which also included the insulation. The two young men, Frankie and Julian answered our questions in layman's terms. Both men were very professional. Frankie and Julian worked well together and were patient as we asked questions about the process. My husband and I wanted to let the company know that Frankie and Julian are excellent representatives of the company. They were respectful as they cleaned up the water damage. If we need to call for future water damage we will call CWF Restoration again. We are highly pleased with the work but most of all these two young men exhibited a friendly and reassuring manner. Our plumber recommended CWF to us and we are very glad he did. Kade and Joshua came out and inspected the damage. They explained what work needed to be done when it would be done and answered all of our questions. They were very helpful and professional. The very same afternoon Kris and John came to do the demolition. They started to work right away and tore out all of the wet flooring and walls.
