I don't know what I expected when I entered Mr. Pot Pie today, so I'll try to clue you in. First of all, there was not a lot of product in the store. A small amount of baked goods were spaced out across the expanse of the store. There was a freezer case full of pies, and along the tables we saw packages of shortbread cookies. Everything in the store was beige. Nothing was elegant. Everything looked common. We did not buy anything, so we can't comment on how the product tastes. We walked in today - around 11am on a Tuesday & bought a frozen mini Guiness pot pie & a frozen mini chicken pot pie to take home to bake & a small chili to eat there. The chili was surprisingly meaty & delicious. The pot pies were good when we made them. But! We were charged $47 for only these three small items! As delicious as the food may be here, there is no way we will be coming back to pay these exorbitant prices. read more

It was our first time here; we were staying in East Aurora and driving to our parents' house about 45 minutes away, where there is nothing to eat besides pizza. (It's in the country!) So we picked up a classic Chicken Pot Pie to have for dinner. It was one of the best we've ever had! And the staff was so nice. We live downtown and were making it out to East Aurora for the first time in awhile. While driving down the main road, we saw Mr. Pot Pie bakery and knew we had to stop in. The wares that we found inside: multiple different types of savory dinner pies, frozen and ready for an easy meal (we decided to sample the steak and Guinness pie and the chicken curry - yum!); delicious desserts including a wide selection of shortbread cookies and giant cupcakes; a nice selection of giant pierogies; and a table full of fluffy, perfect looking homemade breads. What more could you ask for? Additionally, service when we stopped by was lovely. Just the type of local bakery that we love to stop into, and has something for everyone! read more

My go-to place when guests are in from out of town. They always have some seasonal baked good that can't be resisted. At this particular visit they had some apple and pumpkin quick breads, a couple coffee cakes, and almond rings. I picked up an almond ring after reading that it's award winning. I have not yet had one of the excellent-looking and tasty-sounding pot pies. However, this place does have a nice selection of breads and pastries. The homemade breads are good. Today's purchase was a 6-pack of unsliced English muffins. The price is not cheap at $4.99. The muffins are quite good, however, and turn out well when toasted. They are larger than typical English muffins and would do well as a hamburger or sandwich bun. A good place to stop. As far as pot pies go, they have a good selection with nine varieties, which you can find listed on their web site. There is the traditional chicken pot pie, but you can find some interesting ones such as seafood, fiesta chicken, and butternut squash. But what sounds the best to me and might appeal to you is the turkey, bacon, and gouda cheese pie. Definitely worth giving a try! read more

I have not had every single item in the place but there is one I must highlight. The most sensational, inspirational, celebrational...sorry I had a flashback of the muppets....cinnamon coffee cake. Best I have ever had. Not kidding. I hit the little Main Street shop in East Aurora desperate for some non-national-chain dessert for some guest. I saw they had a few of these little miracle cakes and grabbed one. Later that evening, as each person bit into their cake, it was like Carol of the Bells as I heard "wow, this IS good," overlapping one another. Sure enough, after bite 1, I was hooked. I went a week later to buy another one as a gift for helping me with a home repair. That's right, it's good enough to be a gift. The experience here is really pleasant and covid safe. The person cashing out always has a smile - sorry, that was a mask joke. But she does always sound like she's smiling if that counts. I went in to purchase potpies for my wife but 9.95 for a pot pie equivalent to the portion size you get at a grocery store. Unless it has a winning lottery ticket in it then this it too much to charge. I purchased perogies and honestly they are bland. I could do better on my own. Very disappointing. I love Mr. Pot Pie! Every pot pie I have tried has been delicious. Awesome for a quick week night dinner. A little pricey but I understand, they are pretty gourmet. They also have yummy baked breads and packaged breads to take home. My mother in law is obsessed with the lemon blueberry bread. I like that you can get a soup for lunch here. They have great coupons out all the time in the clipper. I wish they were open more hours, they always seem to be closed when I am in the village. read more

East Aurora's Mr. Pot Pie store is a very friendly experience, HOWEVER the product in the form of CHICKEN POT PIE, shipped from Clarence, has become an incredibly expensive vegetable pie. The pies are smaller than prior purchases and cost more. Our recent purchase was nothing more than vegetables and chicken grease. WHERE IS THE CHICKEN???? Purchased the Turkey/Bacon/Gouda pot pie. Very disappointed. Turkey was processed. I thought that because it is "home made" that it would be filled with real turkey.
