The bread is fresh and if you're lucky, you may even get some day old bread at half off. I highly recommend this.

I'd never before seen sourdough croissants or cheese danishes; there's an abundance of gorgeous loaves/boules for sale. (Cheese fondue supplies! Yes!!). A baker's rack to the right sells day-old bread at discounted prices (make your own croutons!) I opted for an almond (sourdough) croissant and a small coffee; I was asked if I wanted a mug or a to go cup? I was given a beautiful glazed mug - very charming! Two things worth mentioning: There's a small seating area downstairs, and five large tables upstairs. The stairs? A polite way of describing them is, "grandfathered-in". The rise/run makes it difficult to navigate if you're in thick boots, carrying a child, or have stiff knees. The pastry had a beautiful crunch. I enjoyed the almond flavor. And then I found: cherry preserves? I'm aware that "croissant et confiture" (eaten with jam) is a standard French breakfast, but it did change the mouth feel of the treat. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something earthier and beautifully executed.

We ordered a pumpkin latte, a cappuccino, and a breakfast sandwich and grabbed two donuts from the self serve donut wall opposite the cashier. The donut cases are many but there were only four donuts total left when we arrived! We grabbed the last frosted pumpkin filled and glazed donuts and, after devouring them, I can see why the rest were already gone! Those donuts were hands down the best I have ever had. The chew and texture were perfect - especially the glazed. The pumpkin filled had a good amount of filling inside and the donut itself was airy and light with delicious whipped frosting on top. The drinks were good too! We will absolutely be back...I have thought about those donuts many times since. Thank you so much, Old Souls Bakery!

We were just passing through looking for some morning snacks, and these hit the spot. The maple frosted custard filled was just the right amount of custard, distributed well inside, and with a good maple flavor from the frosting. Plain (yeast raised) glazed was well fried and with a nice bit of chew. The plain old fashioned and cinnamon sugar (cake-style) both held up quite well until the next morning, presumably even better if I'd had a second stomach to cram them into when they were fresh. Highly recommended!

The ambiance…read moreis warm and inviting, the food is excellent, and it's the kind of place you want to linger with a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, what I experienced this past Saturday morning completely undermined that charm. A local running group had clearly made this their post-run stop, which in itself is perfectly fine. Many of the women were seated respectfully like any other patrons. However, one man took it upon himself to turn the front of the bakery into his personal gym. While customers stood waiting for their coffee, he was drenched in sweat, performing cooldown exercises right in the lobby--hands flat on the floor, legs in the air, squats, jumping--completely oblivious to the people around him. The smell alone was enough to turn your stomach. This isn't a locker room. It's not a sidewalk. It's a place where people come to eat and drink. There was no awareness, no courtesy, no basic respect for shared space. It was uncomfortable, unhygienic, and frankly shocking to witness in a setting that otherwise prides itself on atmosphere. The bakery deserves praise for its food and environment, but management needs to step in and set clear expectations. Allowing behavior like this diminishes the experience for everyone else. There's a line between casual and careless--and this crossed it entirely. Hope you are ashamed of your self sir and I use the word sir loosely...

There are not enough stars possible for the amazing cookie dough cinnamon roll I had here!!!…read more I've been on a huge cinnamon roll kick lately, and I've been trying any ones that use real vanilla icing (ain't nobody got time for that cream cheese icing monstrosity, lol) that I can get my hand on. This amazing place is located at the end of a large strip center that also houses an Aldi and Mighty Taco. The all glass windows and doors give it plenty of light and very open feel - something that we haven't seen much in this area with the beautiful intricate architecture (to us Floridians anyway, lol). The first day we went it was fairly empty and they were nearing closing time. Despite this, the lady who helped us was friendly and informative. She explained they make regular cinnamon rolls and pastries but also have a specialty roll of the week, which was cookie dough this week. They were out of almost everything except some of the day old rolls - which included a cookie dough one. Where we live, specialty cinnamon rolls are filled with the typical cinnamon and just topped with specialty stuff, so I assumed I would get the cookie dough one and try both their cookie crumbles and their traditional cinnamon roll in one. Boy was I wrong. Having bought far too many desserts in the last few days of this visit, I put the cookie dough roll to the side a few days, but when I tried it - OMG!! The center of the roll is COOKIE DOUGH AND NOT CINNAMON. When I tell you this is one of the best desserts and food inventions I have ever seen, I MEAN IT!! Nevermind the crookie or cookie dough croissant craze, these people have created heaven in a dessert. Needless to say, I had to go back again today for another, as they close on Mondays and change their flavors on Tuesdays. A different person was there, but she was just as helpful. And they had just one last cookie dough roll, which of course I had to get. If you ever get the absolutely divine timing that I did and find yourself in the Hamburg, Buffalo, or Amherst (I know of these locations specifically, there may be others too), and they are running the cookie dough rolls, you HAVE TO try them!
