Rick answered the phone on a Saturday and was able to come out to help us access the solution to a leaking water line that caused the city to shut down the water to the house. The leak was at the connection at the meter so we had no idea there was a leak since the interior of our house and our yard was dry. Rick was very knowledgeable and offered the best and easiest solution. It seems that, unfortunately, we have the old blue polybutylene pipes that are notorious for rupturing and all of the pipes out in front of the house should be replaced. A trench will need to be dug from the water meter at the sidewalk, through our yard (and our neighbors's yard), to the main valve at the house. It is a lot of work and very expensive so we will need to access the costs. On a tight budget, only a portion could be fixed, but that is only kicking the can down the road for problems in the future. I really appreciate Rick's knowledge, honesty, expertise, and responsiveness. It is extremely important to have that when you're dealing with any emergencies such as water shut offs. read more

I called to have a tub unclogged. He seemed a tad confused as to how to get to my house while I explained for 10 minutes that it is just 1 mile past Safari West on Porter Creek Rd. He made an appointment to come to our house in the afternoon. Then 30 minutes later he called back saying he was just 1 person and he gave me someone else's spot and he had to cancel with us. Mr. Plumber represented by Richard, came to house after I had made two phone calls earlier explaining my problem during which he never said he had a $100.00 estimate fee. He said he could fix it for about $100.00. He arrived on time at 5:00 p.m. and looked at the job, charged me $100 with a quote of $495.00 to do the work and promptly wrote a bill for $100.00 at 5:07 p.m. much to my incredibility. When questioned about the outrageous price and the fact he could not fix it and the $100 did not go toward the repair bill, he left after calmly saying he did not deceive me. My tenant called on a Saturday saying there's backup sewage in the tub and shower- EW!! I ask her to call a local plumber and keep me updated. The first company-Mr. Rooter gave us a quote but we thought it was a little high (see my review on Mr. Rooter). So we yelp for plumbers and found Mr. Plumber. They didn't call us 'till Monday, but was able to get the job done by Tuesday at a lower price. I would have given them a 5 star if the plumber didn't make my husband feel bad about paying him with credit card (which they say they accept on Yelp). I am sure we all have financial issues, but you shouldn't make other people pay for your problems. In fact, my husband felt so bad that he won't even ask for the $50 coupon offered on Yelp! Of course we didn't have the checkbook with us and we live in the city, so my husband had to withdraw from the ATM machine and borrow the rest from our neighbor! read more

We called with a backed up drain on Christmas Eve. He came out within an hour, correctly (and simply) diagnosed the problem - which turned out to be fairly simple, and fixed it! He talked with us about why it happened and what we can do to prevent it in the future. (By the way, don't just put anything down your kitchen disposal!) Rick was very nice, but mr. Plumber is lacking communication through their employees. I didn't like that I explained my problem to 1 plumber & got to know him on the 1st initial estimate visit. He quoted me 3-4 hours & $400; then some one else (Rick) showed up to do the work a few days later. I was very confused when I answered the door. I felt something fishy was going on. I confronted Rick & he assured me everything was ok. Rick looked at the problem & fixed the problem in less than 1 hour. Rick confirmed the leak was fixed and answered all my questions thoroughly. This was our first experience hiring someone to do extensive plumbing work. We needed a new floor, a shower and a toilet put in our mobile home due to water damage. Rude and unprofessional. - Changed appointment time 2 times on me - no bid deal I guess as I had a free day. Annoying nevertheless. - Refused to tell me his hourly rate - that bugged me, but I suppose everyone has their own business strategy. - Gave me a $530 dollar quote for repair which seemed very high. I let him know that, and told him that I will consider it, but also told him that I am considering other plumbers that charge as low as $55 per hour (but unable to do the work immediately dew to their work load). He laughed at me, telling me that no decent plumber would ever charge that rate, and charged me a $50 service charge fee, which I paid without any hesitation . When I asked him to give me a breakdown of parts and labor cost for my reference, he refused! I told him that it would be fair to give me a breakdown if he charges me a fee (maybe I am wrong here). He grabs my cash, leaves the house without saying good bye and slamming the door. While all my other complains could perhaps be questioned, such rudeness is absolutely unacceptable. I worked with Rick at Mr. Plumber to replace a water heater at a 4 plex I own in Santa Rosa. He gave me the least expensive price and was able to get it done fairly quickly. Then, about 7 months later the water heater began to fail. He went and checked it out and found out someone had stuck a rag into the vent which had disrupted the electronics. do not use mr. plumber, work is not done when promised. this was a modular remodel took 60 days longer than promised. not a reliable person. he said he would be here each day to work. no show, no phone call saying why no one would be there today to work. work was not be completed on time . he said he has "never done such a large remodel. kitchen remodled, bathroom remodeled & enlarged. closed sliding glass door & and made a wall in the space. old cabinets were taken out & new ones put in. he was not able to do this so hired a subcontractor to do this work. wanted money in between the 3 agreed payment schedule. i will never recommend anyone to use this company. read more
