Reached out to Rooter Hero for checking out a backyard storm drain before the rain season starts. Our rooter hero was Benjamin Zecic and he was absolutely great. He was very patient in explaining the process for snaking the drain vs getting it hydro jetted. We did the snake to clear some gunk immediately , and then he came back with his supervisor to do a camera inspection and recommend further fixes needed. Overall great experience making the appointment, tracking the arrival and handling the service! Price is also very reasonable for unclogging drain but we're still thinking about a much more expensive job for the hydro jetter. read more

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this business. I found them through Yelp while trying to contact a different plumbing business. The company replied to my service request immediately and sent a link to make an appointment for an estimate online. I made an appointment for between 10am-noon on a Friday. That morning they call me to say that they need to reschedule (strike one). A person showed up within the updated 2-hour window only to share that they had sent the wrong person, he can't do estimates (???!!!) and someone who does estimates from their company would need to be sent out later (strike 2). I started to get annoyed because I had taken off the morning for work, but thought, let me just be patient. About an hour later the first worker comes back with his telephone and asks me to speak with his manager who said that he couldn't come out that day but could come out the next day (when I wasn't available). He proceeded to argue with me about what was needed and never once apologized for my wasted work day. (strike three) At this point, I felt that I had wasted enough time with this company. No one seemed to know what they were doing (the company's dispatch), or why they were doing it (the first worker sent to my house). I'll take this as I dodged a bullet, as I had not read the other reviews until just now. At least now I know better than to just trust Yelp to pick good companies when they ask if you'd like to send your service request to other companies. read more

Ben did a great job! It's a pleasure doing business with someone who has the same name as myself. Will go.

Called and asked if they did a free estimate. They said yes to free estimate. I Got charged $180 for them to inspect the P trap. I called them and asked for the written estimate and he verbally said 14K over the phone. Never gave a reason or estimated invoice or anything. I was CHEATED. They're not even in Rohnert Park despite the address on yelp. Tech was from east bay. STAY AWAY! read more

very similar experience to others noted here. had them come out for a slow draining toilet and the guy looked at it and said "it's draining slow". he had zero idea why and made no effort to figure it out. then his manager came and they looked under the house and gave me the whole "this is a dire situation and it will cost over $20k" story. same line about recalled pipes... etc. Hopefully people get a second opinion from a trustworthy source. I ended up hiring another plumber who figured out my issue in under a minute, gave the estimate, answered my questions and job was done a week later. read more

I cannot in good conscience recommend Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air to anyone--especially not to families with elderly members or those who value timely service and basic human decency. My elderly mother and I were left without hot water for over a week due to their sheer incompetence and utter disregard for customer care. After the initial inspection of our broken water heater, they strung us along with vague promises and constant delays. On Saturday, May 24th, a technician (Alex) came out to diagnose our broken water heater. He confirmed the pilot light was burned out and informed me that since the unit was under warranty, he would have to contact the manufacturer on Monday, May 26th to order the replacement part. Fine. I understood there might be a delay due to the Memorial Day holiday. But when Tuesday, May 27th came and went with no update, I had to take it upon myself to call Wednesday morning, May 28th, just to get some kind of information. I spoke with Clifford in customer service, who told me that a request for the replacement parts had been made -- but he could not tell me anything else. No ship date. No ETA. Nothing. He told me "We'll forward your message to the office, and someone will contact you shortly." Surprise -- no one contacted me. I called again on Thursday, May 29th, and guess what I was told? Yep, that my message would be forwarded and someone would reach out. Spoiler alert: they didn't. By this point, my mother and I had been without hot water for nearly a week, and all I kept getting were empty promises and absolutely no follow-through. Starting to see a pattern? When Friday, May 30th came and went again without a single update, I was livid. The fact that I had to keep chasing Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air down for basic information is beyond unprofessional. I am calling day after day, getting brushed off with the same canned excuse from different reps who cannot actually do anything. By Saturday, May 31st, I am done being polite. I call -- furious -- and it's Customer Service Representative Cassie who answers and unfortunately has to deal with my full-blown frustration. To her credit, Cassie keeps calm, assures me she will personally make sure this is handled, and guess what? Suddenly, my phone's ringing off the hook with updates. So, let's be clear: nothing got resolved until I got angry. Apparently, being polite and patient gets you ignored, while losing your temper gets results. That is NOT how customer service should work. Eventually, I was told we'd be getting a replacement unit under warranty, but the earliest appointment was Monday, June 2nd -- meaning we were forced to go without hot water for well over a week. Absolutely unacceptable. The only competent, compassionate person I dealt with was Cassie--if not for her persistence and follow-through, who knows how much longer we would have waited for the unit to be fixed/replaced. And even after the job was finally completed, the company has made zero effort to follow up. No apology, no check-in to ensure the system is working, no offer of compensation for the week-long inconvenience and hardship--nothing. It's as if once they got the job done (eventually), we ceased to matter. Bottom line: Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air's customer service is disorganized, unresponsive, and clearly indifferent to its customers' needs. You will have to do all the follow-up yourself, and unless you raise hell, you will not get a single call back. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

I should have checked Yelp on these guys. Bait & switch, I told the tech I needed 100' min line cleared, was then shown a "coupon" on an iPad to sign for $77. In the fine print that was for a 75' snake. Which didn't fix it, but did leave a mess. Sill y me, I thought showing the tech my 200' measuring tape, and saying I needed 100' + job done, that that would have been what he did. Nope. The boss on the phone was quite unpleasant with deflections and wielding the "coupon" as a binding contract. DO NOT HIRE THESE SCAMMY PEOPLE. read more

Caution. RooterHero repairmen seemed professional and cleared a sewer pipe blockage. Afterwards they recommended a whole house sewer pipe replacement based the age of our pipe, a past recall, plus the assertion that our pipe joints appeared to be in the early stages of failing. We had two additional plumbing companies come to give us estimates. Both of these companies said that our pipes were in good condition and in no need of replacement or repair. By looking at the writing on the pipe itself they determined that our brand of pipe was not one of the ones recalled. Grateful for the integrity of these two subsequent evaluations that saved us from over $18,000 in unnecessary expense. read more

HORRIFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCAMMERS!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!! IF THIS HAPPENED TO YOU, CALL AND REPORT THEM TO THE CA ATTORNEY GENERAL!!!!!! Technician: 8378 Max Dukes (CL/BANE) Technician: 9914 Ezhaun Richardson they full blown did a bait and switch lie to us to try to get us to get all new piping when we just needed a simple snake and grey water repair. The technician, and then the manager Max Dukes, lied and told us there was a full sewage leak and break with black mold... Ezhaun said that the sewage was "everywhere" and that we needed to get out of the house right away and get a full new sewage system, costing over 22,000$ with a "managers discount." I spoke with the manager, Max Dukes, and questioned the estimate they gave us as it even gave us a brand new toilet and everything you could possibly think of, he told me that it was very serious and that we had to leave and stay somewhere else right away and that once the city found out our place would be "red taped." they tried to get us to sign on contact and the manager told me it needed to be signed that day, and to have an emergency work done by the following day. I am so grateful I took a moment and waited and got a second opinion. I then got a third opinion just to be sure. THE TRUTH was that we had NO SEWAGE ISSUE we had a simple clog in our sewer from roots, and then SOME grey water from a SMALL leak in a pipe from our dishwasher. We went with Yorkshire plumbing, and paid 2,000, for the simple fix. he showed us full video of what was happening under our house to prove the scammers wrong and walked us through what was really happening. Expensive and Incompetent thieves. I had a kitchen faucet that needed replacing, made sure to get the same model, so it was an easy job. Also had a simple shower drain clog. They showed up at the door and offered to do it for $600... which is ridiculous but I was desperate to have a kitchen sink with an infant in the house. I know I wasn't paying by the hour, but he was here less than an hour. The sink previously had low flow to hot and cold. After the job was done, the sink had flow only on hot. They explained to me that I needed to spend thousands of dollars to replace my pipes in order to get the sink working. I did not do that. I called in after the plumber left to ask someone else to take a look. After talking to that plumber, who insisted his 20 years of experience meant he couldn't make a mistake, he let me speak to his boss, also his brother, who insisted they had pictures proving they did the work perfectly and thus I was not entitled to their guarantee. I called another plumber, and they solved it 5 minutes, a simple kink in the line. Also pointed out that a piece was missing in the handle. Had to spend another $150 for that plumber's minimum. read more

I experienced a lot if difficulty in getting the plumber to my house. No one showed up at the appointed time the first day (2-4 pm). I called at 4 and they could not get anyone out that day. Name your time for tomorrow they told me so I said 10:00-12:00. It was supposedly scheduled. At 11:00 I called to see if they were coming by noon. Ahhhhh no can you reschedule for 2:30-4:00pm. I was not happy and asked for a manger to call me. Rescheduled for 2:30-4:00. I went to do my errands and get a text that the plumber is on his way. I rushed out if the store and called them and said I would be home in 10 minutes and asked the plumber to stay. This was at 11:45. Get home and look at the message again and can track the plumber who was 67 minutes away!!!! Called again and asked for a manger to call me. The plumber who showed up (Angel Ramirez) was great and installed the part I had bought. He was here less than 20 minutes. I never received a call from the manager. I would probably not use this company again as they are located in concord and I am in rohnert Park. They should not advertise to service my area. read more

This company scammed us! We had an emergency backup in our plumbing and they unblocked the pipe, had tree roots clogging it. It took them 3 days to. I called Rooter Hero at that point. The receptionist understood my emergency and said she would have the scheduler contact me. We have a slow draining kitchen sink. I submitted a request for quotes via Yelp. Francisco came over today, and took care of my short term need: getting the drain unclogged with the motorized snake. Things I especially appreciated: - call from him with an (accurate!) arrival time - I don't know as much as I'd like about plumbing, but he listened to me and was patient answering my questions - he got it unclogged - after coupon it was very reasonable I don't yet know what a longer term fix will be, but I was very satisfied with the service today. read more

We had a troublesome blocked kitchen pipe for about a week that was not responding to anything we tried. I used their $77 coupon and was able to set up a next day appointment which worked perfectly for me. The tech came on time and was conscientious about wearing booties to keep my dusty floor clean! He listened to my explanation and then went out to use the pipe snake to hopefully clear the pipe. He came back a bit later and said there may still be an issue but was clear about outlining the next steps and cost. I wanted to talk it over so he left me an estimate. But thankfully his effort was great as we have had no issues since! Highly recommended. read more

I rarely write reviews, but the way my job was handled was inexcusable. I clearly explained in my initial call what my problem was - a clogged kitchen drain. I had removed the P trap and it was not there. I also explained that there was a clean out on the outside of the house that they'd probably need to use. However, the cover to the clean out was stuck. I expected you would send someone who could deal with this. The first technician got involved in an accident. I hope they are okay. They were already over an hour late when I called and was informed that someone else would be coming in an hour to an hour and a half. Well over 2 hours later, they arrived. He went first to the p trap and tried to snake it, which did not work. He had no idea how to deal with the stuck clean out cover. Why would you send someone that couldn't do that, when I said that was an issue? They called a supervisor, who was supposed to get back to me to tell me when they'd be over. It's now 5:30 PM, and I have not heard from anyone. As I have money invested (at least they said the $77 would be applied to whatever other work would be done. At this point, I'll believe it if I see it.) I'm hopeful someone will be here early tomorrow to unclog the drain. Having not heard from you, I called around noon the next day. The supervisor, Alex, said no one was on the way, but he was trying to get someone here. I told him that at that point, not to send anyone and that I would definitely not use his company again or recommend them to anyone. He said he was very sorry and that he'd contact "corporate" to see what he could do for me. Three days later, still nothing from corporate. The next company I called solved the problem. I've owned a home for over 40 years. This was the worst home service I've ever had. read more

This company scheduled our first appointment and blew us off for other "priority emergency calls"... ok fair enough things happen. Rescheduled for a Sunday and after waiting for arrival, AGAIN we lose our appointment to other "priority calls" they want us to wait even longer on my Sunday where MY time is very valuable. Completely unacceptable to waste My valuable time. The free market allows people to run their company how they see fit, and Also me as a consumer can choose Not to patronize a company because they want to disrespect me and my time. This company might have the best plumbers in the world but that means nothing if they can't show up to their own chosen scheduled appointments. Sadly I will remember and give my two cents for anyone who asks me about a good or bad plumbing business. I will never tolerate this form of time management and disrespect from a company. Also Rooter Hero don't try to respond to this review just to save face like you care because I left a poor review, your opportunity to save face was showing up on time the first or even second time, not to try and effort on the Yelp app. read more

A simple clog turned into a frustrating series of expensive spot repairs, 2 weeks of no sewer services, and $16,000 of unnecessary work due to scare-tactic upselling, poor diagnostics, and sloppy execution. Rooter Hero's faulty hydro-jet equipment and subpar video inspections diagnosed a broken pipe/sinkhole under the driveway. After jackhammering and excavating revealed no broken pipe and no sinkhole. The concrete driveway repair work was also ridiculously bad-- had to be torn up and redone entirely. Ironically, the real issue was a city-side blockage that could've been fixed for free. Rooter Hero's sorry excuse for not seeing this in the 3 video inspections; "Too much water in the pipe to see anything" I later discovered Rooter Hero has faced multiple consumer complaints and a 2023 CA Attorney General hearing over similar practices. No, I do not recommend them. read more

Jacob responded to my request for a quote to move the drain and water lines in a bathroom where I was relocating the vanity. I ended up going with a different contractor, but I wanted to leave an excellent review because Jacob was so very helpful. This was my first time calling a plumber for an emergency. I received impeccable service from Angel Cuevas Ramirez. I was given a 2 hour window, he showed up a few minutes early. Impeccably dressed, courteous, with all the right tools. He clearly takes pride in doing good work. This matters so much in the service industry. He solved everything in under 20min, cleaned everything up, reminded me about my coupons etc... credit card payment was smooth and easy. Keep in mind this is all happening right before the holidays, I had two plumbers cancel before Angel, most services were winding down for the weekend and offering $375/hr for overtime. Very grateful for rooter hero, definite hero's. Also shout out to the very kind operators too! read more

I requested a drain cleaning for the sewer line which was advertised for $71.00 . After Douglas was finished he asked if I would like my lateral line inspected. I agreed. I followed up on an ad in the Marin Independent Journal claiming a $77 drain cleaning. They were very efficient, had someone here in under 2 hours, with lots of electronic communication along the way. However, when he got here, he gave me an estimate of almost $350, almost 5 times the price in the ad! He cited the type of sink (it's a standard issue bathroom sink!). I said no thanks, I was not in a position to spend that kind of money (Roto Rooter charged me $175, and I thought that was high). To add insult to injury, he charged me a $50 "dispatch fee", which I begrudgingly paid (he did come all the way out here, his time, gas, bridge tolls, etc.). I feel really ripped off by a classic bait and switch. If I could give negative stars, I would. read more

When it rains it pours! Well it wasn't rain but our water heater started spewing water the other night! Not wanting water spewing all over the place overnight I started calling plumbers that offered 24 hr service. Everyone else was busy until tomorrow except Rooter Hero. They had Luis out within an hour of calling! He managed to turn off the fountain of water and determined the problem was the top connectors for the water were corroded and we needed a new water heater since ours was 15 years old. Luis gave us two estimates and we picked one and he said he'd come back in the morning to put a new one in. The next morning Miguel, the supervisor, came by and said they did not have an appropriate water heater in their warehouse and they were going to drive to their one in Walnut Creek to get one and they would be back around 1:30 pm. Around 1 pm another technician Ed came by and said he was working with Luis and Miguel and had come by to start on taking the old one out. All three guys were great and truly heroes! We now have a brand new water heater with expansion tank that doesn't spew water and works even better than the old one. We know from now on who to call for a plumbing emergency, Rooter Hero! read more

I had a sewer pipe blockage. Rooter Hero arrived promptly and for $360 rooted the pipe unsuccessfully due to a blockage 20' down the pipe. They offered to then hydro-jet the line for $1950, which seemed ridiculously expensive, but I had company from out of town and they seemed confident this would clear the pipe. The hydro-jetting hit the same blockage 20' down the pipe and it did not clear the pipe. They then offered to dig up the area around the blockage for $6,600 !!! and replace any pipe required. I declined and they left. I rented a 100' rooter for $103 the next day, installed a spiral tip on the rooter cable and pushed it down the line. It hit the blockage at 20' and I pulled it out. There was a shop towel wrapped around the spiral tip, and the line was clear afterwards. I will not use Rooter Hero again. Almost seemed like a con game of sorts with ever escalating costs for unsuccessful results. read more
