Special spot. Very special. So we live in the middle of the Pizza trail of NJ.. I'm close to all the legendaery spots and within a mile radius I have three amazing local spots. Amazing. Worldly type NJ pizza spots.. but u know what? One sticks out a little more for some reason. I wondered why. It's in a fully residential area in a super unexpected spot. I used to drive by for years and years wondering that it's gotta be good if it's been here this long. Now I know why. I finally figured it out. Their weekend pizzeolo's been there for 17 years and the weekday guy has been there for over 20. These guys are certified and the pizza well done.. at least for me, is the best in the entire area. When I really need a pie almost to myself, this is my go to Neoplolitan pie. The cheese/ sauce ration is Perfect and the cheese just tastes better for some reason. The sauce has perfect balance. The rest .. in the hands and care of the two pizza masters that ALWAYS make the pizza. They're always super nice and willing to chat. I had a very long conversation about pizza with the weekend guy. They understand it. They get it. The respect it. All the pizza spots around here respect each other. It's just Aweosme! I've never tried anything else their except their pizza, but I hear it's all just as good. I go to the other neighboring spots for what I think they're best for, but when it comes to the simple large cheese pie, it's Mr. Pizza. Period.

There are some good hole-in-the-wall pizza joints and some GREAT hole-in-the-wall pizza joints…read more This place fell into the "great" category and was actually one of the few times where I did NOT look at Yelp's reviews of a business prior to coming here. And this is none other than "Tom's Delicious Pizza". Located directly on Summit Ave (and tucked in between 17th St/18th St) in the heart of Union City, NJ, this small pizza business has been dishing out mouth watering pizza (by the whole pie or the slice) dating back to 1998 (according to their website). Best of all, they have very generous hours of operation being open Monday-Saturday from 11am-10pm and Sunday from 12-10pm. I came here during the evening of Monday 10/13/2025 at around 6pm. Since it was a cool, windy autumn day, I wanted to find something in close proximity to my Airbnb. This part of Union City is fairly easy to get to (foot, car, transit, etc.) and doesn't get too busy. However, the inside is very small with only a few seats to enjoy your pizza. Their menu is quite extensive for being such a small place. They carry traditional and unique pizzas (in various sizes) as well as wings, fries, tenders, mozzarella sticks, hot dogs, burgers, pasta, and even seafood! However, my lady and I were just craving a piping hot pizza (by the slice) and this place absolutely satisfied our cravings! The guys that worked behind the counter were great as I ordered a slice of their "Chicken & Bacon" while my lady went with a slice of "Pepperoni". Prices here are very reasonable as my slice was only $4 while hers was $3. Once our slices were ready, we proceed to sit down, add our mozzarella & Italian seasoning, and were ready to indulge. I have got to say that this place is legit amazing. Some people say that this best pizza is in NYC but New Jersey is also up there at the top. The slices here are a traditional thin while they did not skimp on the toppings. And the crust had that amazingly consistent texture; buttery, crispy, and absolutely heavenly. All in all, "Tom's Delicious Pizza" is not only delish but the service, prices, portion, selection, and nostalgia of this place made it feel as if I was in an old school neighborhood pizza parlor. And if you just happen to be in Union City, NJ (which is roughly a 15-minute drive to NYC), definitely give them a try. With that said and done, I am giving this small business a perfect five-star rating.

I'm always searching for an excellent place for pizza delivery. Tom's has great reviews all around,…read moreso I was excited to give it a try. I ordered simply - a large pepperoni pizza. It was delivered fairly quickly on bike and arrived in good condition. The pizza itself was very average. Average crust, average flavor, and A LOT of average pepperoni that appeared to be mostly uncooked (it almost seemed like they put the pepperoni on after the pizza came out of the oven?) Tom's seems a reliable neighborhood pizza spot, but not a destination.

It was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and easily my favorite dish of the night. I would absolutely order it again. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, which was cooked well. The breading stayed crispy, the cheese was balanced, and it was a satisfying meal. The sauce was good, although it wasn't my favorite part of the dish. Juliana provided wonderful service and surprised me with a complimentary tiramisu, which was a thoughtful touch. The tiramisu was good, but I've definitely had stronger versions elsewhere. There were a couple of small issues during my visit, a noticeable odor near the outdoor seating and a very loud child inside but neither reflected the quality of the food or service. One suggestion would be to replace chipped serving plates. Small presentation details make a difference. I'd definitely come back. It may not be the best Italian restaurant I've visited, but it's a solid neighborhood option, especially if you're nearby.

I know this is an absolute staple in the area and it has its own regulars and cult following. However, if I wanted to go out for Italian food, I would not pick this place. In fact, every time I go here, it's always because of someone else's suggestion. There are some things on here that are fine - the pizza, for example, is sufficient. Their salads are also decent - usually large and fresh. But I've had some of their other hot foods and have been majorly disappointed. The calamari - from a bag, greasy. The grilled chicken panini - no flavor at all. I asked for balsamic vinegar and they had none, which is wild for an Italian restaurant. Even the wine tasted stale the last time I went here. I will give props to the waiters who are always very accommodating and pleasant. The vibe here is nothing fancy - more like a step up from a pizzeria, great to go after a movie or another activity. Like I said, this just wouldn't be my first choice for Italian food because there are much better places in the area, IMO.

I've ordered their specialty pies to margarita pies and all have been solid. The large size comes in square form and the small comes as a pie. I've had pasta here as well and recently had the fettuccine Alfredo which was tasty and came with a grilled chicken pieces which was abundant. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the mood for good brick oven pizza especially since Brooklyn Pizzeria closed in Edgewater... * First come first serve - no reservation option
