Food was mediocre at best. Chicken Quesadilla had little to no cheese. :/ pretty bummed. But the worst of all was the odor inside the restaurant. I love the food in Mr. Peabody's because they used to be cheap and good but now with inflation, the prime rib that used to be $20 is now nearing $30, which made me a little sad. They also had golf on tv so that was unexpected since I was hoping to watch a basketball game for March Madness. The good news is that they still do live musics on Friday and Saturdays, but the service here is so slow that I'm not sure if I wanna go back especially for takeout (just to give you an example, I was ordering a slice of pie but ended up waiting 20+ minute for it). I come to Mr. Peabody's on occasion. It's a small bar that quite often has good bands. I was there a few nights ago to see a favorite band. I had one cocktail. When I was ready to check out, the waitress was nowhere to be seen so I went to the bar to get change so I could leave payment, including a tip ($15), on the table. I stood at the end of the bar (closest to the stage) for at least five minutes while the female bartender chatted up another patron down the bar. I know bar employees are very aware of their surroundings and who has or hasn't been helped so I assumed she would take a break from her chat and come wait on me. In the meantime, my friends (and ride) were walking out the door because they were paid up and ready to leave. I finally lost my patience and left. People who work at establishments that require interacting with customers need to remember the customer pays their bills while attitude does not. If I hadn't thrown away the check I might consider going back and pay the waitress directly because she did nothing wrong, she did not deserve to be stiffed. I'm posting this mainly so management is aware of this experience and why some people such as myself walk out when that is not something they would normally do. read more

The place was awesome, plenty of seats with an awesome large stage for performers. Live music almost every night is a great touch. Food was incredible! The chili cheese fries were so good! So much flavor in the chili and big enough for our group of 5! Our entrees were also a win! The prime rib was so tender and flavorful and for $17, it was a steal! The prime rib sandwich was " the best sandwich" my friend has ever had. The cod was also excellent with the loaded baked potato that was incredible. Portions are huge! Been by here a few times and really enjoyed the food and service. Food is really top notch for a bar. Something you wouldn't expect. Lately due to Covid, they've reduced their menu as well as hours. When I came through last week, I was pleasantly surprised that the happy hour specials ran all night on Wednesdays. Some good deals to be had on wings, ribs and other appetizers. I think that's where I made a mistake in ordering something that's available throughout the night. Ordered some tacos and two orders of ribs. The tacos were pretty good. Had two potato and fish. They weren't bad. Just gotta remember to keep the tacos to the taco shops. The ribs were a different story. I took a bite and while the meat easily fell off the bone, it was bone dry. No matter how much sauce you lathered onto them, it was dry. Almost as if they were cooked, put away for the night (or two) and then reheated again and again. I should've said something, but didn't. A few hours later, ended up sick with food poisoning. Almost positive it was the ribs. On a positive note, we also ordered a chicken salad that was ginormous and delicious. Tender chicken breast atop a mountain of greens. I'll likely stop in again, but definitely will avoid those happy hour ribs. I'll stick with the regular menu. Keep on Yelp'n! read more

Asked for a burger cooked Medium rare with pepper jack cheese. That wasn't the case. Burger was pretty dry and not much flavor. I am glad I waited to write a review, or it would have been 1 star just based on how frustrated we were with atrocious service. He was able to watch some football. We both ordered Prime Rib. It was perfectly cooked. It comes with several sides. I had fries & sauteed mushrooms for my sides. He had baked potato & some sort of squash spinach medley. Portions were huge so I am glad we didn't order any appetizers. I took half of my food to go since I couldn't finish everything. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. They were not busy when we came. The deal breaker was when I noticed on my NextDoor app that everyone was raving about their Fish and Chips so I just had to try it!!!! So after surfing today I went online to place a lunch order for me and my friend. Their website was super easy to navigate and ordering and prepaying was a breeze! They're fully set up on-site for COVID-19 safety- The super friendly staff wears masks and gloves. There are social distancing makers on the floors. They fully sanitize each table. They provide hand sanitizer. Takeout orders are touch less. Their Fish and Chips did not disappoint! They were moist, flakey, hearty, and totally YUMMY! It's the BEST I've tasted, next to Fish District. The Cole Slaw was spot ON too!!! The Prime Dip sandwich was sooooooo buttery and meaty. I would definitely request this as my last meal! The wings were very good sized and cooked perfectly! Full of juicy, meaty flavor! The shopping centet that it's located in can get pretty congested on the weekends but there's usually plenty of parking in the perimeter of the lot. Mr Peabodys, you're definitely ON my list now!!!! They are known for their Prime Rib dinner $19.99, which comes with a loaded baked potato (or fries) and sautéed mushrooms (or mixed veggies). I had a business excursion in Encinitas, and this is my favorite restaurant that I tried there. The food here is great. I ordered the fish and chips and they gave me a whole mountain of fish and chips with a bowl of coleslaw. The fish was hot, tender and flakey. It tasted really fresh and the fries were perfectly seasoned and fried perfectly. The sauce that they give you pairs well with the fish and chips. The prime rib that we ordered here was also cooked to perfection. The food comes out quickly, which was great since I was very hungry after a long day of work. The selection of drinks they offer here are solid and reasonably priced. The environment here is great and the vibes are immaculate. The place gives me the impression that there is always live music, and I enjoyed the DJ they had that night. The bartender was very helpful and made us feel at home.
