Don't recommend going here as a girl as I got scammed and upsold against my wishes!!! I went in to only get an oil change and I was told that I required TWO flushes and when I asked if I could get the oil change done without it Mohkam straight up said no. When I told my boyfriend later he said that I definitely could've done it without flushing my car and two flushes was overkill! I feel they were trying to take advantage of the fact that I was a girl, as they also were trying to force me to get my filters changed when I just wanted only an oil change. A simple 80 dollar procedure I ended up being charged 163 dollars! Which is insane they tried to bring up my price up to 220 dollars but I finally snapped. I kept saying no but they were acting as if my car would implode if I don't do what they were trying to charge me for. I will never come back and will tell my other female car owners to avoid this place since they won't listen and force you to pay for more than necessary and I really believe if I was a man they wouldn't have lied to me about having to get flushes and listened when I said no. Very unprofessional management. I called ahead to get quote. New rims put on winter tires, tires to be installed on the truck. Once in the bay, they took over three hours to do the job. Fine, but while I was waiting I asked about the pressure sensors and the attendant told me they were included with the price I was quoted. Whew, please bear with me. Anyway, I checked my tire pressure on my truck display, fine all good, right. Nope, as soon as I start driving on the Deerfoot two days later, "Alert tire pressure system failure ". So, I brought my vehicle back to them and asked them to fix it only to informed that no pressure sensors were installed. Why not I asked? " no one told me " says the Manger (trainee), he was the one who gave me the quote. The actual manager would not even come out and talk to me. They were sorry but were willing to charge me $80 per tire to install sensors. Another 2-3 hour wait. They could have offered to install them at cost to make up for the time/mistake but NOPE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. wish I would have checked there reviews before I chose them. read more

my wife bought a 2014 Impala, similar to my 2018 Impala. For her first oil change with the car, she went to this Mr. Lube. The personnel there (I'm not using the word "techs") told her that she needed synthetic oil, which of course was the required oil, and when she was done, she was given a bill of $141.00, which apparently already included an AMA discount of $14.00 (or it would have been $155.00) When she told me how much she'd paid for her first oil change with her 2014 Impala, I nearly hit the floor. I pay $95.00 for the same synthetic oil change regularly at a GM dealership. She had obviously been completely hosed, so we both went back with the same car to the Mr. Lube location and asked them to make things right, and refund a portion of the bill (the part that I will refer to as the overcharge). They said no. With no apology. It would seem that they are quite comfortable in their practices. My wife now knows to never again return to Mr. Lube. I suggest all who read this to do the same, unless you want to get taken advantage of. P.S. I tried to give them zero stars, but I could not a review unless I gave them at least one. read more

i was driving through Calgary and needed an oil change. they recommended other services other than the oil change, but that's not all. for them to change my oil, they bent the metal skid plate under my car to get at my oil and it later came off when i left Calgary. the piece of metal was dragging under my car and i needed to remove the piece immediately. they did not do it properly and I called them to let them know and spoke to the supervisor and she did not apologize for this or take the fault. Saying how this happens all they time to hondas... it was very disappointing to have issues with my car from a service I've done multiple times before at a different shop with zero issues. i will never go to them again. read more

I don't even want to give them 1 star. I pulled up and I was the only car not in a bay, I let them know I needed both tires and oil change. I was told it would be a 2 1/2hr wait and I was okay with waiting. The mechanic was almost annoyed that I was willing to wait. He tried to convince me to not wait. I waited about 30 minutes and I was still the only car outside the bays waiting until a Range Rover pulled up. Then after a quick talk to the mechanic he was in the bay that I was told I would be put into for my oil change. So I guess if your driving a Range Rover then you don't have to wait at all. When the mechanic seen me pulling away he approached my window. Instead of apologizing for this he proceeded to yell at me. I've never experienced customer service like this in my life. Save yourself the disrespect and go somewhere else ... well unless your are that chosen one in the Range Rover. read more

Ok. I admit I am a bit of a princess and have never gone alone to get an oil change until today-usually I just make it part of my repairs at the dealership or I get my man to take it in (I know how sad that makes me sounds). Anyway today I decided I was going to tackle this oil change trip all by myself. When I got there around 9AM on a weekday (day off) there were two cars in the bays ahead of me. The "paper man" the other reviewers noticed was at my window in under a minute advising me the wait would be 5 minutes and offered me water or coffee. While I declined, all were a nice touch. I think I waited 3 minutes before having to drive in. They were clear on everything they were doing-they clearly have speeches prepared for every service they offer and an order in which they do it in. They were courteous and did a good job of informing me of extra things I could have done, always with the price up front. In a way I liked that the payment screen always faces you so you can see how things are adding up... They also signed me up for the Mr Lube club which gave me a 10% off coupon for the oil change. Nice! I admit I was a little overwhelmed at first with this "first" for me but they made it easy and relatively pain free. I will definitely be back. One little thing I would like to see is Mr Lube put prices and packages on their website. I like to look at stuff like that before heading out just so I have an idea of cost and options. Service was fast, honest, and polite! The whole service took under 15 minutes, though it seemed much shorter with the free newspaper and shaw open wifi. Staff looked professional and without a doubt knew what they were talking about. They checked over every component of my engine except brake fluid, which is probably for the best. They let me know what was good, what can be serviced next time, and what should be serviced right away. They actually showed me what needed to be replaced like the difference between my new and old air filter. Wow! Up selling is pretty much irrelevant because they only recommend what my car truly needs and there was absolutely no pressure to buy. With this kind of high quality service I will definitely recommend them to friends and family and I'll be back every 5000 Kms! 10/10 read more

Great work, Mr. Lube! I went today for an oil change, and what I really appreciate about Mr. Lube is the service. I was 4 cars deep in the waiting line, and a guy came out with a newspaper to chat with me. He said that it may take about 45 minutes at the longest to get in. It may be sooner, but it could be up to 45 minutes. I appreciated that a lot, because at least I had an opportunity to decide if I was staying or going, based on that timeline. I chose to stay. The guy gave me a newspaper and was on his way. It was about a 30 minute wait, but I was pleasantly amused with my paer and my ipod. When it was my turn, the staff members explained what they were doing every step of the way, before they sent them on their way. This is not my first visit to Mr. Lube, but it definately won't be my last. read more

Don't be fooled by lube shops. They are ok if you want a quick oil change but be careful. I don't think that they make any money on just changing your oil. Every time I have gone in the past they always try to sell you a bunch of other flushes and services that are likely not needed. I think this is where they make their money. The other thing is that most places employ teenage kids who likely don't really have much experience or knowledge. I know that they aren't licensed mechanics, that's for sure. So would I got if I just needed a quick oil change and didn't have time to get to a real automotive shop.....yes. This Mr. Lube is similar to most s"it in your car, get your oil changed" kind of places. I have been to other places like this, but I find that Mr. Lube is the most thorough. Certain locations in the city can have hellish waits, but I have never waited long at this location. They have 3 bays which helps with the wait time. The staff will come out to your car, offer you a water or coffee and provide you with a complimentary newspaper. Nice touch. The actual oil change follows a set format every time, they have a checklist of things that need to be covered and methodically go through it all. They do try to up-sell things a bit like higher grade oil etc, but it is a business after all and if you are not interested they are polite with no pressure. Your car details are stored in thier computer system so they know what your cars history and needs are. Mr. Lube costs more than some other shops like this, but they offer consistent quality service. read more

Biggest rip off oil change I've ever had. More expensive than the dealer. Oil change in my truck at the dealer $115. Here: $200. Wtf?? And rude too. Ford diesels require ford filters, I brought my own, which cost $30 and they said "no we will only use our Ford filter" and charged me almost 40!! read more

Overall I was fine with the service. It was a 1/2 hour wait to get in and there was no waiting room, so I was slightly allergic to the garage - waiting in the car while they worked. They did try to upsell, but they were not as pushy or aggressive as other places. I would try them again. read more

I just got my oil changed today and have left absolutely irritated. Short of little customer service I was left wondering if my oil change was done right with the two techs constantly messing around. So much in fact that a car showed up after me and left before me for what was essentially the same service. I left with no sticker on the window and no satisfaction that this was worth the money. I will not be back to the Mr. Lube by chinook center again. Will advise everyone I talk to to stay clear and will think very long and hard before I spend one more nickel under their roof. read more
