After being told the price was 127 and agreeing to it, everything was good till they changed the in cab air filter. Not telling me the price until the service was done. I was charged 89.00 for a 20.00 filter bringing my total to 228. Outrages. read more

This company has no regard for customer service. All you get is taken advantage of and get the run around from staff and management and even head office. After going to Mr. Lube (7215 Winterburn Road in Edmonton) for a routine oil change and wheel balance we began having engine trouble. Diagnostics showed that during the process of the oil change, the engine air filter was put back into the vehicle backwards, causing dirt to enter the engine, which is what caused the issue with the vehicle losing acceleration power and the inability to remain running at all. We asked Mr. Lube to take responsibility (we provided proof with documentation, receipts, and even the actual filter in question) but instead of being helpful or even courteous at all we were given the run around by the Assistant Manager, manager and district manager. Even our requests for assistance from head office went ignored. I even went to the Better Business Bureau who tried to contact them and those requests went ignored. Warning to anyone! Run, don't walk away from this company!!! read more

Had no oil in my driveway. Went here for an oil change. Oil all over my driveway. Tried to tell me it had nothing to do with the oil change. Seems incredibly odd that the oil on my driveway started immediately after the oil change. Then charged me $1000 to fix the leak that they somehow caused. Visited the 130th St location this morning and was advised that they would not be able to complete my oil change because they do not use customer supplied products. I wanted to use my supplied Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil which i explained to "Guy" the tech trying to assit. The only explanation for refusing customer supplied product is because it does not allow you 'Mr Lube" to mark up and profit from the Prem oil supplied by the customer. I sold Mobil 1 Oil for over 20 years and have never been refused service of installing my own prem product. I only use Mobil Prem products in all my 5 vehicles and it is changed every 5000km max. The lube business is very competitive and if this continues to be your policy, you will not get my business. The next move is yours....... read more

Been there many times and seems the service is going down hill steadily. They said my transmission oil needed replacing and showed me a dipstick with gray fluid, I know I changed it a few months back and checked again when I got home and it was reddish. So they are pushing service not needed, And while checking found nut missing for engine cover, and another nut stripped. Also oil handprints everywhere, not professional at all. Plus the price has gone up to almost $100 for a simple oil change! Ridiculous. I take our vehicle there because it's should be quick and easy, but not so much anymore. They will not see my business again not even for my wheelbarrow. read more

Not recommended. Pros: convenient location off McLeod Trail Cons: everything else I love the Mr. Lube commercials on TV --- "eh Jerrry!!!" They are probably the best Canadian-made commercial in years! But this Mr. Lube location is full of r-t--ds. I got there at 9:10am on a Friday morning and already there was a two car wait to get into each of the two bays that were working. I was told it would be a 45 minute wait to get in, which it was. However in the meantime, I was asked to move my car three times in between the different bays as cars entered in order 'to get in a few minutes quicker'. Now, I was getting the oil changed in my company vehicle & I wanted to pay for it using my fleet card. Basically that fleet card is like a credit card with a limit of $500 per transaction & I only use it to purchase things for that one particular vehicle. The kid that was 'in charge' of my service that day was also training a new hire at the same time. I asked for a basic service: house 5W30 oil and a basic oil filter. He suggested that I take their premium oil service (at a premium price). When I asked again for the basic service he said, "You have a fleet card with a $500 limit so just get the premium service." I find this very distasteful, especially since now I had to ask him for a third time to sell me what I asked for. I'll skip some of the details, but they wanted to put the wrong oil filter on my engine and I had to Google what the correct filter was and show them on my phone, they couldn't get the oil filter screwed onto the engine and they would not take my fleet card in the end to pay for the service & I had to use my personal credit card. I will never go back to this Mr. Lube location again...I probably will only take my vehicles to the dealership from now on. My suggestions to the owners of this location are: - spend a bit more time on training these employees on positive customer service, or - pay a few dollars more per hour and attract a bit more experienced employees - send your manager around to check-in on each car at some point during their service to make sure things are okay...when I got out of the car to speak with the manager, he went running into his office and I was told to get back into my car for my own safety. The best word I can think of is "disappointed." When I pulled in there was only 1 vehicle waiting, in line for Bay 1. I was flagged over to Bay 3 and offered the customary coffee/water and newspaper. So far so good.... I waited almost 20 minutes, lines were starting to form, and the F1-50 at Bay 1 was still waiting. Finally the woman running the lineups came over and started (with very poor communication skills) to explain that "it's a first come first served basis," her first sentence. No "hi" or "sorry" or anything, cutting right to the grammatical nightmare of a point, "and we need to get the F1-50 in first so we need you to switch lines, but it should only be 1-2 minutes difference." Already I'm baffled because it will take at least 2 minutes to switch lines, so who is this helping? But I did as I was asked which, in that cramped space with other vehicles waiting, was a nightmare. We get to our new lines and I wait another 20-25 minutes (15 or so after the F1-50 pulled in. So much for that 2 minute difference) so that by the time I pulled in, he was already paying and getting ready to leave. When I got in it was MOSTLY clear sailing, except for an attendant with a VERY thick accent who was hard to understand over running engines and yelling, but when it came time for the up-sells they pointed out engine leaks I already knew I didn't have a number of little things I knew for a fact I could fix myself for free or close to (one was literally as simple as opening the hood and pressing a little plastic clip back into place). It really seemed like their whole game is to over-state problems to get you to pay for services that nobody with a screwdriver and access to Youtube should ever need to pay for. I used to get my oil changes done at Walmart for about 40 bucks, and for more or less the same package these guys charge 70, ON TOP of being abbrasive and condescending when you tell them that no, you don't need to pay them double retail price for a pair of wiper blades to avoid the 30 second chore of attaching them. The oil change itself was performed fairly quickly, once I got inside... but that's really the only thing I was satisfied with. I think I'll be looking for a different place to get my next oil change. read more

Went to Mr. Lube today to get an oil change on a family member's vehicle. I have to say that they were speedy, efficient, and got the job done quickly. They checked the filter and told us we needed a new one, and offered to do it for $30--my partner knows a thing or two about cars so we said now and went to Canadian Tire after to pick up our own for 1/3 of the price. It's also incredibly easy to replace, which is good to know. All in all, Mr. Lube did a good job though. Will be going back if I need a rush oil change again. read more

I was a little skeptical of these oil change places as I have always gone to the dealership. Took my truck in - all bays were full but an employee came out and gave me a paper while I waited. Once I got in for my oil change they recommended some other services which I declined and didn't feel pressured to get. Employees were knowledgeable and friendly. I will come back here. read more

Generally fast and efficient for being located right on McLeod Trail, though you'll likely have to wait if you're here at rush-hour, or on a Friday. Not all of the bays are open all of the time; however, I've generally had good luck with someone coming out and letting me know which lane to pull into. Staff are friendly and talk you though what they're doing and why. All the usual up-sells are there, but they don't seem to have the hard-push that some other places have. (and sometimes, they'll even acknowledge that yes, you can get a part for %50 less at the C-Tire down the road). I've really just gone here for regular oil changes, but did have them notice and then change a HIGHLY worn serpentine belt in my VW. While I'm sure I could have had it done cheaper elsewhere, it was nice that I could just get it done there, at the time, and the cost was well worth the convenience. PLUS... if you check in here with Yelp, you get $10 off! Solid. read more

I like Mr. Lube because they're thorough and get the job done right. I've been to multiple Mr. Lube locations and have generally been happy with the service. There's something about this particular Mr. Lube location, though. Some (not all) of the staff speak to you very condescendingly. I don't come to be patronized about the care of my car. I just need to know what their assessment is and what my subsequent options are. I'll just avoid this location, all other locations have been super friendly. read more

My experiences at "quick lube" places have been sketchy. My unfortunate visits have included parts being installed incorrectly (fuel filter dangling with no bracket); watching employees struggle with how to open my hood, or remove my air filter; watching them question the readings on the dipstick, and so on. It's apparent that at some chains, certain employees have pretty rudimentary training at best. So when the inevitable "up sell" comes ("Sir, would you like your X/Y/Z flushed?"), and my confidence in their abilities at zero, I've ONLY gone for the oil/filter change lately. Anything else is left for the dealership technicians. That being said, leaving my vehicle at a dealership for the day is hugely inconvenient, so quick lube spots have their place. Enter this Mr. Lube location: Driving home from work on Macleod during rush hour, I passed several quick lube spots that had cars lined up at the bays. Forging onwards, I found this location with zero lineup. In I pulled, and actually right into an empty bay. During rush hour? Score! It all went like clockwork. They were professional. They didn't do anything that made me wonder if they were installing something backwards. And they even asked for my keys when I shut off my truck (you just know someone in the past drove through a door by accident, or started their car sans oil, so they could listen to the radio). No complaints: best quick lube experience thus far. read more

I go to Mr. Lube to get my oil changes done. But, I may not in the future. I went to this location after work and waited patiently in front of one of the bays. All lanes (they had 4) were empty except for mine of course, so all I had to do was wait for the next one to open up and I would be next... right? That didn't happen. I arrived. An attendant arrived after 5 minutes (yes I was timing, I had to be home sooner than later that day). They did the usual customer service pleasantries and I waited for the next bay to open... I was first in line afterall... right? Another car pulls up 15 minutes later. I start getting a little paranoid... "what if..." sets in. 5 Minutes later (I'm really precise with my time)... you gotta be kidding me... they let her in first. I'm not happy. 5 minutes later, the bay door in front of me opened up FINALLY. *sigh* woosah! All in all I waited 25 minutes and despite being first in line apparently I wasn't. - 3 Stars for this joint for their bad customer service. Well, what else does one do? I swallowed my pride and when I got in, I let them know that I wasn't happy and what had happened. But, did they make up for it? The guy that worked on my car apologized and then gave me a 10% discount for my troubles. BTW, here's a tip, if you check in to this location, you actually get a $10 or $15 YELP coupon! Either way, I spent less than full price and eventhough I could have given these guys a harder time, I didn't. Mistakes happen and I know I've made my share. They did attempt to make up for it, but it still lingers. + 1 Star for some good customer service, although not enough to make it up to 5 which is what I would have given them if I reviewed them before that day. read more

Terrible service. They didn't bolt down my plate correctly after a routine oil change and it fell off almost entirely on the highway. When I went back to tell them about it I had to wait half an hour to talk to a manager. When I finally got to talk to someone they told me there was no real damage so there was nothing they could do. The only reimbursement they gave me was the same 20$ off coupon they are offering in their flyers. Won't use it because I will never go back. read more

Worst Mr Lube in the city. Most of the workers are more concerned with chatting to each other than actually doing their job. In a business that's all about customer service you'd think they'd care more about how they treat them. Also they have no respect for the whole first come first serve idea, which is really surprising considering their whole business retention is built on it. I waiting on a non-busy day for over an hour while they constantly let people in who arrived after me. A person who arrived 15min after me got in well before I did. When I voiced my complaint about being forgotten the person apologized but I understood it wasn't really his fault. The real kicker is when he then told, what seemed to be, his manager about my issue I saw the manager laugh. Ive been to a whole lot of Mr Lubes and this one is awful in comparison. If I could give a rating of .5 I would. The only thing saving them is that they're cheap. I will definitely be making the extra 20min journey to get to any other Mr Lube then this one. read more

Had a line of about 10 people waiting in line for two hours, only to be told we weren't getting in to get our tires changed. They didn't have the insight of counting us and telling us they did have room for us earlier. They didn't take responsibility when one man called the general manager, Moeun, refused to do anything to help us. Mo, the man behind the counter, was the one who lacked foresight in store. Their staff members is friendly, but they don't have the skill and the experience. I bring my Toyota Rav4 for oil change, after 45 min I received the call from them, that they can't able to remove the oil filter because they said the previous oil change over tighten it. My previous oil change I did on the Toyota dealer (too far from where I live) so I bring it back to Toyota and complaints. Well, Toyota said is not over tighten and their mechanic should able to get it out. So I just waste over $60 for oil change, I know there is the labour fee and othere stuff, but its unfair to me $60 oil is very expensive as customer and especially the job is not done. So from now on, I don't think I would go back there. read more

First of all, they were out of the synthetic oil... what?? You're an oil change company. Second of all, "all fluids checked" is complete horseshit! They didn't look at my brake fluid. It was basically empty yet on my service order they marked it as "appears ok." Luckily I went to go get my cat detailed and the person who was giving my engine a wash noticed it the same day. Yikes. Very disappointed with my visit here. I had my oil changed here a few weeks ago and yesterday I noticed oil on my driveway. I called them up and told them and they asked if I could hurry down. I did , and they kept trying to tell me there was really no leak, even though I was down a third of a litre and this was on my brand new Ford F150. They then told me that it may have been a bad filter so they changed the filter. The first guy couldn't even read the dipstick properly and wasn't going to fill the oil until his supervisor told him needed more in. It looks like these kids don't get very much training and although they may they think they are mechanics they don't have a clue. I won't be back. Now I need to clean my driveway off. read more

I have attempted to contact Mr. Lube directly before posting this review, but they were uninterested in assisting me. My first clue something was wrong with this Mr. Lube location - my tech didn't know you couldn't put regular air into nitrogen tires. I had to explain to him what it does to the tires and why it's a bad idea. They tried to sell me a new air filter, despite the fact that a) Mr. Lube had replaced my air filter at my last visit and b) the air filter was obviously in great condition, still brand new in spots. I found rather rude and wondered if they were trying to fleece me because I was a woman and alone. The next day, my check engine light came on. My husband and I popped the hood and began poking around. It turns out my transmission fluid was low. My husband, who has been a Mr. Lube customer for years, asked me what it read when they showed me the dipstick, as they have done at every single oil change we've had in the past. I realized they hadn't showed me the dipstick or told me the fluid level was low. We filled the fluid. We also found a hose, appears to be an air intake hose, disconnected from the service. Check engine light still on. My husband asked about the PVC valve. We review the Mr. Lube invoice. Despite this being part of my service package, the tech decided to skip the check of the valve and the PVC filter. This was not disclosed to me. We ended up having to disconnect the battery to get the check engine light off. As originally stated, I did attempt to contact Mr. Lube, but even their CEO wouldn't answer my questions. They apparently don't care that I paid for services that their shop didn't perform (and the CEO also doesn't seem interested that his manager lied to me!) and had to spend my personal time fixing their mistakes. All I have to say is - I won't be back. I refuse to patronize businesses that treat customers this way. read more

I do NOT like being lied to! I went for a oil change at this Mr. Lube today, I got in pretty fast as the person who was getting me water didnt have time to get me some until I was in the bay which was Bay #1. I got my oil changed, and then I had them asking me if I wanted to change my air filter (pretty standard for them) I did decline stating that I am going to be changing it later. I had them ask if I also wanted them to check my tire pressure, as I knew I had a slow leak in my tire and I needed them to fill it up a bit for me. They told me it was all at 35 PSI. When I did my engine check and my lights I noticed my low tire light was still on. Before I left I asked him to check my front driver side tire, he said he did but he will again. It took him a bit but when he came back to my window he said it was reading at 35 PSI. Well I took his word for it and drove off. My gauge in my vehicle was at 192 kpa and then dropped down to 188 kpa which equals out to 27 PSI. I dont like the fact that they have told me a lie when I KNOW my tire is going down and I needed some air in it! I think after that this will be the LAST time I will be going there as I dont think I should believe anything they tell me anymore. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone... I did before, but now after being lied to.... i'm actually going to be taking my business elsewhere. read more

So I've been coming to Mr.Lube for a quite awhile. With a number of different vehicles. There have been a number of small things that have bugged me about this place but today was the nail in the coffin. I took my work Van in to get an oil Change and once I handed in my keys went to the washroom when I came out the guy shows me some dirty pile of something I knew there was no way it could have come out of my Rear Diff and with absolute assurance tells me the guy under my Van says it's from my rear Diff. When I say "You guys changed over my diff fluid last time" He looks at the computer and sheepishly looks back at me and replys "Oh? Yes so we did" then proceeded to feed me a line about how he is going to talk to his manager and "See what's up" I never got to speak to said manager instead was fed some BS line about how he misunderstood what the guy under the van said. Think I'm just going to start doing my own oil changes again. On top of a broken Dipstick and an oil cap that didn't get put back on I've reached my limit with this company. If you are reading this don't trust a lube boy who shows you a dirty rag and says your rear diff fluid needs to be changed they should show you the actual plug. On my car they needed to remove the skid plate to drain the oil. Apparently they didn't put it back on properly because few days later I heard this strange sound. It was my skid plate dragging on the ground while I was driving along the highway. I managed to string it up with a shoelace and made it back to town. I brought the car back to them twice, and despite my best efforts, they refused to repair the car or take any responsibility for the damage. Don't make the mistake I did. I dropped by to get an oil change on April 7. Once complete, I drove home to Cochrane. The next morning, I noticed a big splotch of oil on my previously pristine driveway. I took my car to a Cochrane mechanic who quickly ascertained the problem: the oil drain plug wasn't even hand tightened. It was barely staying on. The mechanic said I was lucky: if the plug fell off while I was travelling 100 km/h on a two-lane highway, my car would have been toast and I might have been, too. So I call the manager of this location, Doug Feher. Rather than apologizing, he says: So what do you want? I tell him: a refund on my oil change and whatever it costs to clean my driveway. He says I need to negotiate this. He calls head office and, two hours later, he returns with this. (1) driveway damage is irreparable so Mr Lube is off the hook. And (2) a refund is not possible but Mr Lube will meet me 'halfway' and offer me a complementary service, which I rejected. I don't know what's worse: the potentially catastrophic error or the response afterwards. Nice to know Mr Lube thinks the value of my vehicle, my safety and my property is roughly $60. read more
