After my car (2007 Honda CR-V) sat at his shop for three weeks, with the repair timeline being moved multiple times, I was finally quoted $730 for the job, including the diagnostic and labor. That sounded fair, so I agreed. However, when I came to pick up the vehicle, I was presented with a final bill of $1,137.29, that's 55.79% more than what we discussed. When I questioned the increase, Omar claimed I had agreed to the new price, which I absolutely did not. A proper quote should reflect the actual cost unless something unexpected comes up, which was not the case here. To make matters worse, I asked him to show proof of the parts pricing, particularly the starter ($425.31), and he refused to provide any documentation. That's a huge red flag for any honest business. Also, the $165 diagnosis fee felt excessive, especially when the problem was already obvious (starter failure). In my experience, this was not a transparent or trustworthy transaction. I cannot recommend Westmount Auto or Omar's services to anyone. If you value honest pricing and clear communication, stay away.

Cons - Couldn't fix misfire problem with 2000 Civic. - Shop and office could be cleaner, but maybe that is a pro and part of the charm. Background on the Civic: I was having it serviced exclusively at W & B along with changing the oil myself. I started getting an occasional odd misfire when accelerating at low RPM. They changed some electrical components and it seemed fixed (or at least greatly improved) for a couple months, but then returned badly. After that they couldn't fix it. I went to another shop in frustration and they couldn't fix it either. I ended up trading in for a new car, even though the Civic had another 5-10 years left in it if that issue was fixed.

I took the car to InspectaCAR for a second opinion. They were able to see all the comments that Kaltire had made and all the parts that were failed initially. And they inspected those areas very closely, and disagreed with the comments (e.g. they did not see the leak that Kaltire had claimed to have seen). And guess what? My car passed! InspectaCAR saved me from being scammed $3000, and provided detailed explanations why they thought my car should be passed, and how they disagreed with all the comments that Kaltire had made. It makes sense to take cars to InspectaCAR for Out of Province Inspections because they do not do the repairs, so they have no incentive to scam customers in order to charge thousands of dollars on repairs. I highly recommend this place.
