Just hours after my car broke down late night in middle of road, when my alternator died, I went to bed that night knowing my priority was to find a mobile mechanic to come out to help me in the morning. After using the key that was made for me for about a week, the key wore down and wouldn't work anymore. I was unable to lock or unlock the trunk. I went in with the only other key for it and asked for a copy. I was informed the key is no longer made and they don't have anymore. Additionally, if I were to find the key on my own, I'd still need to pay for the keys and having them make copies. Good job making the key from nothing, but sadly, it didn't hold up well. read more

When our 2004 Sequoia ignition began to "stick", I stopped by to ask about the problem. John was professional, knowledgeable and very competitive. Paid $99 for two new "chipped" keys knowing the dealer quoted me twice that. To solve the ignition problem, John scheduled a one-hour service to remove, rebuild and re-install the ignition key. The dealer would have charged $500 for a new assembly and would have left us with two different keys - John's solution kept our original key. I have two Toyotas, an 05 Camry and an 03 4Runner, both with anti-theft transponder chips within the Master keys. Just out of caution, I wanted to have copies made for each just to be safe. First, I researched info on getting OEM uncut keys and instructions on how to program the transponders for each vehicle. I ordered the keys online, which were not cheap then a couple of days later they arrived. Next I contacted locksmiths in the area to get prices. The first was Mr. Keyman who provided me with a price quote and other helpful information about getting my keys programmed and cut. I then contactrd several other locksmiths who were somewhat reasonable in price but not as helpful or friendly. Finally I spoke with one service rep from another local locksmith store who seemed helpful at first until I suggested stopping in just to have my keys cut after stating that I was able to program the keys on my own. To begin with she was trying to discourage me from programming the keys myself then she was very quick to try and make an appt for me to stop in and have my keys made which was fine but then went on to quote me an unreasonable price just to have my keys cut. The price quoted was twice the amount I ended up paying with Mr. Keyman. It was Grag who helped me when I visited and not only was he friendly but also very humble and most importantly knowledgeable. He did a wondeful job and even though he stated that he was being put to the test in cutting my OEM Toyota keys which I understand are very difficult to get just right, he was very confident in his ability to get the job done. I would recommend the shop to anyone who wants a good job done at a reasonable price. If I ever need to have locks put in or keys replaced in the future, this is the first place I'm going to call. read more

Recommended by another locksmith company. Because this place specializes in Automotive Remotes. The owner John gave me a promo code, that saved me $75 - 100 lower than anyone in entire San Diego county to cut and program two replacement remote key fobs (and the existing one) to my car. This business is extremely professional in the way they work, and their happy customer service. Their shop is large, sunny and airy, with comfy stools and a big-screen TV for customers. After calling shop after shop, only to find adding two extra chip-type car key fobs would be really expensive - or no one had the specialized program equipment to make them - I found Mr. Keyman. His associate Matt, took care of the entire thing (and cutting some house keys I needed) in about ten minutes. Check out was high-tech because they use the square, with a tablet and laptop. So they are also mobile. They can come to you and do these services. While waiting, I noticed they had all the remotes on racks for all cars, and their prices for services and those remote fobs were lower than internet prices! I probably saved $300 or more from going to the dealer for these. What a score finding Mr. Keyman! Even if you don't need a key, stop in and say hello.
