I bought a new garage door opener and paid for its installation. Six days later, my garage would not open. The only way to get into my garage is via a key, which I did not have. My neighbor recommended Mr. KeyMan. I called him, and by the questions he asked, I knew he knew what he was doing. Mr.Keyman came within the hour, made me three keys, opened my garage, found the problem, reprogrammed my garage door, checked all the other components of my garage door opener, including the safety feature, all within 10 minutes. I previously called a different locksmith, who came out, took one look at the job, and said there was no way he could do it, I needed a garage door technician. The garage door technician came over, the same one who installed the garage door opener only six days before, and said there was nothing he could do because I didn't have a key to open the garage. My next door neighbor and close friend needed help to get her front door lock fixed. Since she was out of town, she asked me to work with Mr. Keyman to manage the process. The issue was that the key worked in the other locks but not the front door, and she was going to be selling the house so she needed to handle this quickly and cost effectively. John showed up right when he said he would and got right to work. He was very friendly and warm so we began talking while he was working on the lock. I began asking him questions and learned a lot from him in the process. He ended up having to re-key the lock and kept adjusting to make sure it was just right. He intuitively knew from talking with my friend that she is very detail oriented and it would need to be done to a very high standard. I enjoyed the conversation so much that I had him come next door and create some duplicate keys for us for our house. Awesome service!! The remote keyfob for my moms lexus broke while we where out to eat so I called AAA. As we have a premier membership I knew that it would cover up to $150 in fees. They transfered me to another locksmith who proceeded to tell me that we would have to pay $345 for a new key of which AAA would cover the $150. When I asked about just replacing the shell and keyblank they said they could and it would be $100 but we could not use the AAA benefit?!? I tolld them i would call back and began to search online. I found and called Mr Keyman and was told they could do the shell replacement for almost half of the AAA recommended provider and that they would stay a little late to help if needed! I live in an apartment. I left my garage door opener in my car and closed the garage with the button on the wall. I called Mr. Keyman and spoke to John. He knew right away what kind of lock I was talking about on my garage door and gave me a total cost over the phone. Came out, said it would take about 30 mins but was done in 15. I was very satisfied with his customer service and knowledge over the phone. I called a few other places before hand to compare prices. Mr Keyman was the cheapest and was the ONLY company that would give me a price over the phone without seeing the lock. I went to Mr. Keyman, in Oceanside, to get my remote fixed. The young man at shop was very accommodating and fixed it right away. We went out to the car to test the remote and it worked great. He turned around and handed me the remote and said "Have a nice day". I asked him about the charges and he said there was no charge. He didn't have to do that, it was well worth it to me to have it fixed but I really appreciated his kindness. read more
