The service was quick and the food was good. I was in the area waiting for my daughter and noticed Mr. Joc Peruvian chicken. I've seen it a few times and had been wanting to give it a try. Today was that day. It was pretty easy, not very crow when I went inside to order. There was no weight at all, and I placed my order at the carryout counter. I just ordered a half of chicken with green beans and fried plantains. The guy behind the counter was pretty friendly and told me my order will be ready within five minutes. It was prepared and ready as promised. I took it as Kary out so I didn't eat it until I got home. I don't live too far away, so the food was still pretty hot. The chicken was moist and flavorful. String beans were a little bit bland, but I won't hold that against them. Everything else was Delicious. I will definitely stop here again and try some of their other menu items. On my way out, I saw that they actually carry pupusa so I want to give them a try one day.

Been here a handful of times. Seems like each time it got worse and worse. Place is very clean. Service ok. Good tasting food but portions have gone down each and every time, most noticeably last time. Will give them more more shot before I don't return.

The chicken was really good and freshly made! Crispy skin and juicy inside Plantains, yuca fries were good Liked the mild and spicy sauces too Would definitely go back I thought it was better than Sardis which I think is going down hill a bit

SKIP THE USUAL BORING THANKSGIVING TURKEY AND BUY SOME DELICIOUS ROTISSERIE CHICKEN AT Mr. Jack Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken. My mom is 92 years old. She never tasted sweet potato fries until today November 27, 2024. This was my first time experience! Say good bye to boring fast food and say hello to Peruvian rotisserie chicken, sweet potato fries & fried rice!

This is your typical Peruvian chicken restaurant with additional options. Unlike others their menu is simple and easy to read. You are not overwhelmed with tons of other options. I think those who think their menu is overwhelming have never been to others restaurants like this. Since their menu was easy to read we decided to try something other than the standard rotisserie chicken. My husband got the cheesesteak steak he said it was the softest bread he has ever had. It was really fresh bead and super tasty. What a great surprise. The flautas were ok, although tasty nothing spectacular. The cheesesteak was definitely the highlight of what we ordered.

Great tender and well-seasoned half chicken. The spices were complex and served the protein well. The brussels sprouts were 20% less cooked than I prefer. The fried plaintains were soft, caramelized, and excellent.

$4 for a single piece of corn bread. Tasted like the packs they sell at the bakery section of a grocery store.

Chicken tastes really good. Brussels and plantains were good and we would order those again. Cornbread is insanely overpriced. $4 for a small piece. Maccoroni and cheese was flavorless and honestly the worst maccoroni I've had from a restaurant. You could buy Stouffer's and it would taste a lot better. The chipotle replica bowls are decent but I probably wouldn't recommend them. The rotisserie chicken is great though.

This place definitely has potential to be awesome and I came here knowing that they have only opened for a few days and there are probably kinks to work out. I'm just excited an option like this even exist in Eldersburg! I called in my order because I knew it'll be busy, the call took a few times for it to go through and the lady was about to hang up on me after my order and I had to ask if they remembered my name, she said yes but my order wasn't in when I arrived to the place. Again, no dings, they're just getting started and trying to get their bearings! I also couldn't pay over the phone. Let's just start with the chicken... the chicken was SO juicy!!! I grew up eating Peruvian chicken weekly where these chicken joints is on every other block. I would say that the skin has the right seasoning and flavoring but the seasoning doesn't go beyond the skin. Nothing some of the yellow and green sauce won't fix I suppose. I want to say that my favorite chicken place goes heavy in the cavity of the chicken with the seasoning as well so maybe that's something for Mr. Jack to consider. For sides, we got black beans and fried plantains. This was really where the disappointment kicked in, black beans were salty and tasted like canned beans with a load of salt. I've never had plantains as charred as these and had to pick out the extremely hard and burnt pieces but otherwise they were good. The menu is slightly overwhelming. Part of me wished that they offered less options and focused on their chicken and perfecting their sides. Part of me is excited these options are available to try since Eldersburg isn't exactly screaming diversity when it comes to food options. I'm for sure gonna be back a few weeks later once things are more settled to try their signature dishes.

A long awaited opening given that we need more eatery options in E-burg besides pizza places, and MSG laden national chains. I believe the food selection Mr Jack offers is unique to the area and true to the Latin / Caribbean theme advertised. The staff is friendly but it is obvious that they are in need of getting the kinks worked out. The order process is cafeteria style which is somewhat disappointing - it would be better if they offered table service so that you are not in line trying to figure out what is what from a giant menu overhead. I love rotisserie style chicken but have to say that I found this one primarily salty and on the dry side and then the yuca froes were fresh but lacked salt. In my opinion the portion sizes are small for the prices charged. I am certain that improvements will come as they refine their processes.

The chicken was good, not great. The sides were below average and the service was terrible. Went one time and don't expect we will go again.

Turns out it's 5 minutes from their home and they have eaten here many times. :) Lots of free parking in this shopping center. Easy entrance/exit, too. We arrived at about 11:40 and there was nobody inside except staff. The place is sparkling clean and the menu extensive! We both agreed we'll come back another time and try some different Peruvian specialties. But for today, I have been wanting a traditional 1/4 dark chicken, rice & beans, and coleslaw. This meal (entrée + two sides) includes a drink, for $10.60 with tax. We were out of there in 5 minutes - no kidding! and took our food to my friend's house to eat. Bonus for fast service! First, the chicken. Ohhhhh my. Melt-in-your-mouth tender, and that distinctive spice mix that says pollo a la brasa. I could have eaten a whole chicken! But I know better ... lol Coleslaw: exactly the right mix of sweet and tangy for me. Some folks don't like sweet at all, so you should know, it is a little sweet. But crispy and not at all droopy. Rice and beans: these are mixed together and it's brilliant. The black beans are cooked just enough to not be mushy, and the "sauce" from them has a hint of spice that melds beautifully with the vaguely saffron rice. Sauces: ah, here's a thing. The yellow sauce was perfect. The green sauce was FIERY. I found a good recipe for "authentic" Peruvian green sauce and have been making it at home for over a year. But truth to tell, I grow my own jalapeños and none of them were super hot. Both of us were a bit surprised at how hot the sauce was. It was just over the edge for me, and we added a little mayo (how many of you know it's made with mayo? lol) which brought it down to tasty level. It's really one of the best Peruvian chicken places in the whole area, and I will definitely be back!

Let's start with the beans... finally, real beans! Thick, creamy, flavorful, and not swimming in water like you find at so many other places. It sounds like a small detail, but trust me--it makes all the difference. The crema? Fresh, rich, and delicious. Again, not watery or runny. You can tell they take pride in using quality ingredients instead of cutting corners. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the plantains were sweet and caramelized just right, and every bite tasted homemade. Now... let's talk about the pupusa. I've eaten pupusas all over the DMV and in many different states, so I don't say this lightly... this is one of the best pupusas I've ever had. The masa had the perfect texture, the filling was generous, and the flavor tasted authentic from the very first bite. Here's the funny part... I took a few bites and immediately thought, "Nope... this is way too good to finish here." I asked for a to-go box because I wanted to enjoy the rest for lunch the next day. The gentleman helping us smiled and even brought me an extra bag of curtido without me asking. That small gesture made my day. And yes... that pupusa was just as incredible the next day! The restaurant itself is spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with colorful murals that make you feel like you've taken a little trip to Central America. The staff was warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely happy to make sure we enjoyed our meal. If you're anywhere near this area, do yourself a favor and stop by. And if you're an hour away like I am... it's still worth the drive. Great food has no expiration date on distance, and I can already tell you I'll gladly make the trip again just to work my way through the rest of the menu. Thank you, Delicias Dayana, for reminding me what authentic homemade food should taste like. I'll definitely be back... probably sooner than my waistline would like!

The food wasn't bad because I enjoyed the carne asada. However, the rice looked and tested like Uncle Ben's. Some of the wings didn't have a lot of meat on them. The empanadas were interesting. Essentially they used maduros and put a sweet vanilla filling. I didn't particularly like them but it's just personal preference.

During my visit, I stayed indoors. The interior is a bit small but cozy with TVs around the bar area. A Mexican restaurant that plays country music was a first for me but it was okay. The waitress was amazing! She gets 5 stars in my book. Ordered the jumbo margaritas. The Lola had some flavor but probably needed more guava. Also I had never seen cilantro in a margarita but I guess since this place is called cilantro, why now, right? Also the salt rim was great. Now the Enamorada margarita, on the menu it said coconut rim but wasn't available. I was sad about this but the margarita itself was very good. Mango and coconut was very tasty. Ordered the tacos. Suadero was a bit dry, also ask for slices of lime and then they got a bit better. The rice needed a bit more flavor as well as the black beans. The Al pastor tacos were a bit better but nothing to rave about.

Unfortunately, my recent experiences at La Brasa have been very disappointing. The biggest issue has been the customer service. The person answering the phone has been consistently rude, has taken our orders incorrectly multiple times, and instead of trying to resolve mistakes professionally, argues with customers. That is simply not the level of respect or professionalism I expect from a business that has been part of the community for so many years. I have also noticed that the food quality has declined compared to what it used to be. It's disappointing because this restaurant once had an excellent reputation. I sincerely hope management addresses these concerns by improving customer service, training staff to communicate respectfully, and restoring the quality that made so many people loyal customers. I'd be happy to update my review if I see meaningful improvements.
