Yesterday's experience here at Mr G's was total BUllS**T! I should've learned from last week when I was there. Stay away from here during the afternoons poor service when they take orders not worth the time or money. The quality of the food has gone down not what it once was back in the day. If they do get your order wrong don't expect a refund all the "MANAGER" and puppets will say is, "They Can't Do Anything, Cause There's Nothing Wrong With The Order"!!! Been going to Mr. G's and Chile Pepper for over 30 years, this is not the same as it was even as recently as a year ago. Let me start by saying the food is good but the customer service is terrible. This will be my last time here. So long story short, they are extremely weird about what they will allow on their rolled tacos. They will not put guac ect but they will put cheese. Twice now I have been told "oh we can't put cheese on your rolled tacos". I have to have a conversation and say "you always have before". A manager will then confirm this and I will get some cheese. Tried this place out, drive through was really long so I was hoping for good food. I ordered beef tacos and rolled tacos. The beef taco was decent, the cheese was good (mozzarella I think I read in other reviews). Salsa was really plain, no heat. The stand out was the rolled tacos, I don't know if what I got was standard, but the crunch, texture, and taste was really awesome. It was really light and crisp. Nothing like the hard dense rolled tacos every other taco shop has. I will be back to see if this is the norm. To make the trip perfect I just need to find out who has really good salsa so I can bring some for Mr. G's food. I'm not afraid of completing a puzzle with random pieces. read more

We came here for dinner tonight because their sister restaurant "Chile Pepper" closed at 6:30pm. We are so glad we ordered food from here. It was all fresh and hand made tortillas! Super delicious! I gave this 4 stars because their online ordering was very confusing. We ordered for 7:30pm pick up and when we got there they told us the system put it in as 7:30am for the following morning. I love these burritos. Since highschool 2002. Screw the bad reviews. Everyone has their take on a good burrito. This one is mine. I drive back to this dump town just for these burritos. I bought 16 last time I went down there and ate all 16 before the end of the week. I haven't lived in the town for over 10 years now so I don't know what the customer service is like, but the food hasn't changed ever and I love it. Some people don't get it. Some people hate the salsa. To each their own. I went today to try the taco salad that I heard was soo good, first of all as I was ordering my food through the drive through, the girl that was taking my order sounded like she was so angry, her attitude was horrible. When I got up to the window a young man helped me. My total for just the taco salad was $12. I drove all the way home to enjoy my dinner and when I get there all of my "house" dressing was all over the bottom of the bag! I was pissed. So a few weeks ago I placed a large order but had 7 machaca burritos missing, which is about $35 worth of burritos. We called to rectify the situation as the burritos were for a party. We asked for a refund but they said they "couldn't do anything" unless I had a physical receipt. I did make the order online so I had proof of the order and the physical receipt got ruined with the salsa. So I never got my refund or replacement burritos. I've been a huge fan of Mr. G's and have been eating here since they opened, so I'm feeling disappointed about how my order was handled. There wasn't a solution or even an effort from them to make it right or better. So be sure to check your orders especially since masks are being worn. I've been to Mr. G's twice, based on rave reviews from coworkers. I have to say, it did not live up to their hype. The Carne asada burrito is literally just a big tortilla with chopped up meat inside. No beans no rice no pico, nothing. They do give you a side of guacamole or sour cream if you want though. The meat itself was pretty good and they give you a lot, but I wish there had been other stuff in that burrito. It got monotonous to eat towards the end. Plus the grease from the meat was spilling out as I ate, it was a mess! My favorite thing I ordered was the bean burrito. The only thing it needed was some pico or salsa to help it from being dry. Unfortunately I was eating in my car and their salsa is terrible for eating in the car. It's just straight up liquid and the little plastic cups it comes in are so overfilled, when I went to open one it spilled all over the console of my car, boo. I like my salsa chunkier, not just liquid! Lastly, their soda sizes are odd. The small size of their soda is the size you would expect for a child's meal. We stopped here on our way to San Diego. I was trying to remember the great place we used to go back in the college days, and since I couldn't find it, we went to Mr. G's. We ordered the green chili burrito, bean and cheese burrito, chorizo and egg burrito (which they serve all day), and the rolled tacos lunch special. The food was solid. The green chili was decent, not fantastic. The bean and cheese burritos, which come highly recommended from all other reviews, were very good. You get little cups of salsa that are the consistency of water. We weren't really sure what to do with them, so we just figured this must be the Mexican version of a French Dip, and dipped. The end result was pretty darn messy, but tasty. The rolled tacos came out hot and not greasy. The best thing was probably the chorizo and egg burrito dunked in the salsa. All in all, this is a muy fantastic, cheap alternative to fast food and definitely worth the drive off the freeway to skip Macs and the other garbage along the I8. That being said, the green chili and beans would fail miserably if placed in a head to head competition against Rito's in Phoenix. read more

We stopped here on the way from Phoenix to San Diego from the recommendation of a friend who used to live in Yuma. I think their prices are great; it's very reasonably priced! We thought the food was very tasty. I got some sort of machaca combo. It was soupy (which was a bit strange to me) but had a good flavor. You had your choice of 3 small tortillas (corn or flour) or one large flour tortilla. My husband had a couple of the hard shelled tacos and shared rolled tacos with my son. My daughter had a bean and cheese burrito. The workers were very friendly and gave us recommendations when we asked. They also said they had good burgers, although we didn't order any. So I ordered one of those and two rolled tacos. The tortilla was tasty and delicious, lots of bean filling, my cheese seemed to be at the bottom end of the burrito but I mean, it's a burrito. Portion sizes are on the smaller side. The rolled tacos were crispy, good filling and my order came with salsa. I added guacamole and rounded it out with a large drink. I could see myself returning, it was good enough that I would want to explore the menu more. That being said, I probably won't be back in Yuma until next year.
