I finally gave in and went to MR. G's pizza. There isn't many reviews for the spot but one of the pictures looked promising and called in to make an order for their Meat lover's pizza in a large. The employee was nice both over the phone and when I picked up my order, it was fast. Now the highlight, is opening up the box, pulling a slice off the rest of the pie and watching the cheese pull away! It was beautiful I tell ya!! **insert cute kitten eyes here** Then it came to taking a bite off the pizza and wow! It was delicious! The meat was nicely cooked into the pizza pie, the crust was pure perfection and overall I was completely satisfied. DO NOT over look this spot! Atmosphere: G's is a small, independently-owned, low-budget décor, slightly worn place with comfortable booths, cheap tables & chairs, a limited menu, and seems to rely on pizza by-the-slice and a small buffet. It's not a booming business, but there were 3 other customers when I was there for lunch, and they seem to be regulars who like to watch America's Funniest Videos on a small TV while eating a buffet lunch. My order: Specialty Pizza small 10" for $7 (like a supreme, the works, etc.) Crust is inch thick, soft except for outer layer, allowing pizza not to sag until the grease soaks in, about 20 minutes into the meal. Over all it was little to be desired. Pizza was okay did have decent amount of cheese on it. But the mushrooms were like whole and not chopped so just fell off the pizza while eating. Wings were super good actually the sauce was the right amount of spice and wings were crispy. The ranch was tossed in there and spilled all over the place. It also was awful, and not ranch at all. I decided to check out the spot because I had a craving for pizza but didn't feel like driving to woodlands to back to humble. I went into this place with low expectation first thing I noted empty restaurant, very run down the lady and guy working the joint seemed very upset almost bothered I was walking in as a customer. No one at the register and I could hear them arguing about who should go to the register. Finally when the lady approached I explained to her the kind of things I was looking for in my pizza and how I would like prepared. She seemed rather unfocused and said yeah to everything I said with an unsure expression. She says they don't sell slices only small pie and large pie and that right there almost made me not buy as I wanted to try the thing for my craving not feed a whole family. I order a small pie and about 8 minutes later she hands me a small box. At first glance I notice the pizza pie seemed very average almost like a frozen oven pizza you buy at the store. I give it a taste some slices had more sauce, some had more cheese and others you taste the plain dough flavor. I keep eating only to taste something very sour, foul and rancid. I spit that portion out and keep eating to give it another chance and it starts to taste like what it appeared at first glance frozen oven dollar store pizza. I puked it all out. My wife and I have been craving pizza forever but haven't gone for because we are truly disappointed by all the big chains. So I went searching for a good place online. Mr. Gs had a lot of good reviews so we decided to try it. I have to say, they definitely deserve the rave reviews. The place isn't much to look at but, hey, Greenspoint. You walk in and are greeted warmly. The smell that greets your nose is both pleasing and enticing. You can see a middle aged man in the back hand making dough. I ordered and was told it would be about 15 minutes so I went to the store to get a couple things. I get back to Mr. Gs and sit in the parking lot and smoke while my pizza finishes. Halfway through my cigarette a nice lady walks out with my pizza and hands it to me. When I get home I'm already drooling from the smell filling my truck. Needless to say it tasted as good as it smelled. My tiny, 5 foot nothing wife ate half the 15 inch pizza. It was so good and the people so warm and friendly.
