if I can give Mr. Fix it a 0 zero I would! Had Gutter Helmet installed by Mr. Fix it in 2008 with a LIFETIME warranty...well, one area leaked after the installation...Mr. Fix it comes out (when it isn't raining) and "fixes" it. It has since continued to leak in that same area so we call Mr. Fix it for service again...and here again Mr. Fix it comes out when it isn't raining to fix it. After awhile there's some things in life u just learn to live with, but yesterday it was raining and my wife & I were sitting out on back porch and the leak (the same leak) got annoying so I took video of it show Mr. Fix it where it's leaking. Well this morning I call Mr. Fix it to come out and fix the SAME leak that has leaked since DAY 1 and beings I had a new roof installed it's now MY PROBLEM! BEWARE of this company and their LIFETIME warranty for Mr. Fix it will throw it back at u!!! I'll get the leak repaired that Mr. Fix it couldn't FIX...and when I do I'll write another review and challenge u to call that company first!! STAY AWAY FROM MR. FIX IT!!!! read more

On November 30th, 2024, Mr. Lynwood Shackleford spent a considerable amount of time helping me choose the colors, fixtures and design for the two-replacement showers and bathtub for my condo. I had so many questions and there were so many choices, but Mr. Shackleford had the patience of a saint and never made me feel rushed. By the end of the selection process, I felt completely satisfied with the design, colors and fixtures for both of my bathrooms. Next process was the installation and the two Gentlemen that performed this miracle (Barrett and DK). They showed up promptly at the time promised and were very professional. They put down protective coverings for the floors and furniture, and never once complained about the 14 stairs they had to traverse so many times to take out all of the old fixtures and then bring in all the materials to replace the walls and flooring and the carry up all of the tools and materials for the actual installation. When all was finished, Barrett took the time to explain how to use the dual shower heads and went over all the do's and don'ts on keeping it clean, what products NOT to use and the best products to keeping it new looking. DK cleaned, swept and vacuumed their entire work area, leaving it cleaner that they found it! Mr. Fix-It has a great team, from Mr. Shackleford and his endless patience, Christine, Tissany and all the others who called to keep me appraised of the timeline for the installations, Josh who had the happy job of calling me to let me know the actual date of the installation and the two Supermen, Barrett and DK who gave me two of the most beautiful showers and bathtub EVER!!! This is a company that I would recommend over and over again. Professionals, each and every one, start to finish. Mr. Fix-It installed our Gutter Helmet. Gutter Helmet itself is a five-star product and does a great job. We have more than 15 years' experience with Gutter Helmet at a previous home. The experience was interesting. Without getting into too many details, I'd like to tell you how the management and installation team at Mr. Fix-It took what could have been a two-star experience and turned it into a five-star one. Communication at the beginning of the project was poor. We were not notified that a measurement team would be at our house first thing on a Monday morning. Surprise! We dealt with that. The installation team show up a couple of days later, also unannounced. The installers, Frank and Dequan, could not have been nicer. They offered to come on another day and apologized for the miscommunication. (I would hire a hundred Frank and Dequans to represent my company - THEY WERE AWESOME!!) We weren't going to turn them away and they did the installation. Anyway, there were a couple of missed details (not the installers' fault - they received incomplete or incorrect information from the dispatcher). We called the office again and spoke with Matt, who was very helpful, and received a call back from Jason, the Director of Production (I think that's his title). He could not have been more helpful! He had the team come back out at our convenience (and with an APPOINTMENT!!) to fix the MINOR issue. And we had heavy rain since then - and our gutters are working perfectly!!! Folks, there is no question that Gutter Helmet is a GREAT product and, in my opinion, second to none. But the customer service that Jason, Matt, Frank, and Dequan exhibited not only MET expectations - THEY EXCEEDED THEM!! Thank you Jason and Matt, and a high five to Frank and Dequan, two of the hardest working, nicest guys out there! I requested gutter guard to be installed on my ranch style house along with new gutters. Once job was assessed I could only get the guard on the rear gutters (I had a downspout that went underground). Problem started with the front. I had job assessed twice and informed both guys, along with sales person, I desired to remove the existing gutters myself so I could replace the fascia boards prior to installing new gutters and the guard. Informed them I would be out of state for a few weeks and we agreed on a project start date after I returned. Received a call from my neighbor while I was gone, informing me there were guys at my house working on my front gutters. WTF? Long story short, they removed everything and installed new stuff while I was gone...never giving me a chance to replace my wood. When I returned it was a pain in the butt to talk to someone...sales guy left company, manager said he would call me back, manager then states company VP is wanting to call me, etc. Finally they sent someone to look at the job. He said they could remove the new stuff, allow me to replace the wood, then they would return to reinstall the new stuff. It took me forever to hear back from them...I just told them to leave it alone that I was tired of the run around I was getting. I told them to finish the front-side gutters not yet installed and we would be done here. They finished and I have not heard from them in almost 5 months. I figured we were done here and they might have wrote the rest of the cost off due to their jerking me around.....nope. Called me today after almost 5 months wanting final payment. If I could I would give them a zero! read more

They received one star because I couldn't leave zero stars. They came out in November 2022 told us it will be about 6 to 8 weeks. Shortly after sometime in December they called and said we have you scheduled for January 27 and 30th. January 27 at 10 AM I called Mr. Fixit and was told your technicians left at 9:30. They're on their way. So then again at 1 PM January 27 I called and asked where the technicians were. They said they had to finish up a job from the previous day. They would be there Monday the 30th Monday the 30th I called and was told they won't be there until February 27 because they were busy. I asked to have a manager call me back and I waited an entire week, no one called. I called back, explained the situation and yet again, ask for manager was told your sales consultant will call you. Didn't receive a call couple days later I called back, and again, I was told my sales consultant would call me. This time he did, I told him I wanted to cancel because I could not rely or depend on the company before the installation, how would that rest my nerves after? And then I had to call back again today to get my $3500. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

A bad wind & rain storm came through our area and serverly damaged our gutter to the point it is drooping down over the garage door & front door. I got a representative to come out for an estimation on the quickest way to replace it. He came out a 11-15-2022, the week before Thanksgiving, we sat down & discussed the process & the product. He gave an impressive presentation, was very professional & seemed to be very knowledgeable of the process. The agreement was that I pay them a deposit of 850.00 and that they would then schedule a date for the work to begin. Little did I know, this was the beginning of the "Bait & Switch" operation. I specifically asked him, How long it would be from the time I paid the deposit to them starting the work because of the serverity of the damage and that I wanted it done as soon as possible because I don't want it to fall & injure one of us or worse to kill one of us to include the visiting guess we have coming in from out of town over the holiday season. He told me that it would take about a week from the day they received the signed contract & the deposit has been paid. I signed the contract on 11-15-2022, paid the deposit on 11-30 -22. I waited a week & called to find out what the status was. That's when I ran into the Bait & Switch buzzsaw. The lady I spoke with was rude and showed no regard for my concerns about the safety aspects of this. When I finally got her to actually listen, I told her what the representative said about the process; she told me, oh they just tell you that. They really don't know. I asked why do they knowingly do that if or when they know that's not true? Her response to me was read the contract. We have the right to schedule you for whenever we want. I told her I would call around to find someone else that could come out sooner. If they can, I'd call her back to process my 850.00 refund, if not I'll leave it at the currently scheduled date of 12-28-2022. She then told me that I WOULDN'T get back my full deposit. I ask what she meant by that, she told me to read the contract. It was clear to me at that point that this is an established pattern they practice. Get your deposit, hold it hostage while they drag their feet starting & or completing the task they've been hired to do. I told her, and I say again, that's a terrible way to do business. Scenarios like this is what caused the Dept of Consumer affairs to come up with the Truth In Lending Act among other regulartory rules, guidelines & laws. "Give me your money and we'll do our Job when & if we want to". Something tells me that this is the norm for them. I called customer service about her comment and terrible attitude. He said basically said the same thing except he wasn't rude & mean. He was curteous & professional. When I asked to speak to the owner, he successfully deflected! If you want a company that is honest with you, upfront about your expectations and their process, then this Is Not the one for you. They don't care about the hazards posed, they only care about getting your money up front. There are No other priorities for them. The two lessons I'm reminded of that I neglected to do; always get @ least 3 estimates before you select one & Never, Never, Ever fork over your money without reading what you've signed up for. I didn't do that & it's costing me the comfort of knowing that we're safe and I'm out of 850.00 with no results. This seems to be in all of these companies playbook these days. I needed some gutter work quickly in order to sell my house. Since we have had so much rain, I asked each contractor I called how long it would take them to get to my job if I decided to hire them on the phone before wasting time to get a quote. The lady that set-up the service all quoted me 2-3 weeks, but the contractor that showed up quoted me 10-12. Complete waste of my time. Not only was there a severe miscommunication regarding the timing of the work, but the contractor basically offered me no help to resolve my issue. Zeb & Hurson led the Mr. Fixi-It team that worked on our kitchen & half bath over the past 2 weeks. They were a joy to have in our home! They were both friendly and professional and clearly took so much pride in their work. They joked with our kids, asked about our music preferences and worked for hours each day with smiles on their faces. At the end of each day they would vacuum and sweep up not only the work areas, but the paths in and out of our house, trying to leave our home cleaner than they found it despite the construction. When they came back this week for the final checklist day, they even fixed a few cosmetic things they saw that we had not even noticed! While we will be happy to put our kitchen back in order, we will genuinely miss their company each day. Our kitchen is beautiful and makes me so happy! It went from being cramped to being a joy to cook in. While I know this isn't the case, both rooms feel like they got bigger through this renovation! They created an amazing transformation in our home. This was our 3rd home improvement project with Mr. Fix-It. They redid our 2 full bathrooms about 8 years ago, replaced our front door about 2 years ago and then this summer they just redid our kitchen and half bath as previously mentioned. My husband and I continue to call Mr. Fix-It for major home improvements because the quality of the work this company does is amazing and their employees are so wonderful to work with! The company also stands behind it's products. When we had a problem with the tub faucet on New Year's Eve a few years ago, the owner came to our home around 6pm to fix it himself. He was dressed nicely and clearly on his way to a party, but did not want to leave us without a working tub over the holiday weekend since we had toddlers at the time who were too small to take showers. That is the level of commitment this company gives to its customers and something I have not experienced anywhere else! I will warn you that Mr. Fix-It will cost more than if you sub-contract through a big box place like Lowe's or Home Depot, but don't let that cause you to dismiss them. You can be assured that you are working with trustworthy & knowledgeable people who will be honest with you, take pride in the quality of their work and stand behind the durability of their work for years to come! read more

I have been getting robo calls at my work to the tune of 10 to 15 a day. Ask to be removed, spoke to someone and told them I was not interested. One day I decided to go ahead and follow through to see who was calling. After being transferred about three times I was put in touch with Mr fix it. I would never use these people just because of all the robo calls they make. Very shady practice using automated recorded calls over and over again even after you have told them nicely that your not interested. I can only imagine how many people's number or information is sold to other companies if you actually use these people. read more

We contacted Mr Fix it, at first they were very helpful but when asked to provide the detail estimate, communication was very poor, it was really hard to talk to them as they were seldom responding to our voicemails, emails and texts. Very disappointed in the company, expensive compared to other very good contractors. I would not recommend them. Thank God, we found a new contractor. read more

We have a Koi pond and patio garden on the side of our house which included a nice pergola, however after 10 years the pergola was beginning to rot in places so we called Mr Fix It. We were hoping for repair but after inspection it became clear that it was going to have to come down. After discussing our options with Richard, the salesman, we elected to have them remove the pergola and install an electric awning. They demolished the pergola soon after we contracted with them so we could stop worrying about it falling in the pond and harming our fish or pond. The custom awning took a few weeks to come in but once it arrived they brought it out and installed it in about 4 hours. They were great! All their folks are so professional and personable and we love our new awning. We will be using them again. read more

I contracted with Mr. Fix-It for Gutter Helmet. This product is very expensive and I had high expectations. I met with Debbie Binshtok for an estimate. After her presentation, I decided to contract with them. It took several weeks for the project to start. I was aware of this. My main complaint is that four times people for that company came to my home without any kind of appointment or phone call to let me know they were coming. I could have been out of town or out of the country. I do not want random people coming to my home without any kind of notification. Some of them were in unmarked trucks so I had not way of know who they were or who they represented. I phone their scheduler "Jeannie" and she told me they were not accustomed to calling 5,000 times. She seemed to forget that I am the customer. I have left a message for the owner and if I do not get a response I will move forward to the BBB. read more

I was told they do everything in house and do not subcontract work out - this is a lie! My husband and I had two bathrooms re-done and they subcontracted the work out to an ex-employee. The communication between everyone was terrible throughout the project. It was supposed to be complete in 10 days - took almost a month. So the message starts off don't review if you got a freebie, somehow I don't think they'll give me a free shower. But on with the story, although we thought the cost was a little high initially, we are bought and sold on this company, our contractor Brian, was nothing but courteous, he called everyday prior to arriving, told me the next days plans prior to leaving, cleaned up everyday too. Our new shower comes with a life time warranty and we are in love. absolutely a superb job, from sales man to pulling out of the parking lot. We are very happy. read more

We recently had Mr. Fix-It in to do a shower replacement in our master bathroom. Everyone; from the salesman that initially came in and explained the services offered, to the installer that completed the work; were completely professional. They efficiently removed the old shower and extended the original space to twice the size by removing a dead space wall. All of the wood and insulation was replaced and the plumbing updated. The final product is elegant and spacious. The installer in particular took great care to make sure that every evening after working that the space was cleared of clutter. When the shower was finished, he made sure to clean the space and returned everything to where it was before he came in. Everyday he would update us on how the install was progressing and when he would expect to be complete. Our new shower is everything we were promised and more. The extended size of the shower and the hanging glass doors gives the entire room an completely new feel and openness that was previously missing. After waiting for a scheduling (longer than told) called them and secured a date. Workers showed up, then informed me they weren't aware 2 of the 4 windows needing shutter installation were 2nd story and they didn't have right ladder - they would have to come back the next day to complete. So there were periods of time where 1 worker was not occupied while the other went on to other tasks. Now a reasonable business person with integrity would think: this person could have completed the job while they were there, IF they brought the right equipment. Not Mr. Fix-It - they charged me $300 for the worker having to come back out and finish the install (2 hours labor for 4 shutters). Their reasoning? First it was "well he still had to come back out", then it changed to: "Well even if he had had the ladder, when they were there the first time, he would have had to work 2 more hours to get it done". Absolutely ridiculous and NO - 2 more hours on the initial day wouldn't have been necessary if he had been fully engaged and not wasted time doing nothing. No way did this job require 2 people for 7 hours. Stay away. I sent them 2 requests over a month's time asking them to breakdown what exactly they were billing me for in terms of time and materials - they didn't respond. Until one day I believe it occurred to them they hadn't received payment and they called. You're better off going elsewhere, even if you have to pay more for someone operating above board - it's worth it. read more
