I really enjoyed my meal here. I was actually surprised at how very much I enjoyed it. I had the grilled salmon over yellow rice. The salmon was cooked nicely (not overcooked). It was served over a bed of yellow rice and grilled onions, peppers and cheese. Everything was seasoned nicely and tasted delicious. I would have to agree with some of the other reviewers about the service. It seemed to take forever, and the staff was not that friendly or helpful! I'm giving this two stars because it's black owned otherwise it would be one star. I waiting 45 mins to an hour for this bowl. I tried to avoid that by calling in but I was told they do not take call in orders. I tried to order online but kept getting an error on the webpage so my only other option was order on DoorDash (which has their own prices that are higher than the restaurant) OR go inside and order and wait. I was weary because of the reviews but I still gave it a try, the food is decent at best for an hour wait but the steak on the bowl is steak that they use for philly cheese steaks not actual "steak steak". I feel for $20 my bowl should have real steak or you should make the customer aware of the type of steak it is. Been meaning to try Mr. Everything for quite some time and we finally made it. I knew I wanted the rice dish with meat over it but I didn't know if I would get steak, chicken or shrimp. After looking at the pictures, I decided to get the chicken over yellow rice with no mushrooms and peppers. While the place wasn't too packed there were a few people waiting and coming in and out. The wait was a tad bit excessive as it was well over a half hour plus when they finally called us for our food, my boyfriend's dish was prepared incorrectly. So, another few minutes added to that then we were on our way. The only good thing was the girl at the front caught the mistake rather than us after we'd left. Once I was finally able to get somewhere to eat, I was beyond excited after the first bite. The cheese was perfectly melted and it wasn't too much rice. The spinach gave it a great added bonus. Plus, the Chipotle ranch I got on the side gave the loaded dish some extra flavor. It's a bit spicy but I used it in moderation. Jabari's little brother got a sandwich and boy, I was almost tempted to ask him to trade. They need a Mr. Everything closer to me because as I typed this review, I began to have the taste for more. Initially when I started coming here a year ago I would have given this location a 5 Star. But I have had at least 5 meals that were incorrectly prepared. The food is good. You may or may not like all of the cheese that comes with the yellow rice dish. In theory you tell them what you want and or do not want. You pay extra for more meat or veggies. My problem has been that I ask for no mushrooms, extra spinach, but I have om a few occasions gotten just the opposite. And Lamb and mushrooms look kind of similar once Its all mixed in together. Now the even bigger problem to me is that it takes 20-30 minutes to prepare your food. So if they mess up your meal then your lunch hour is over and you are late getting back to work. I guess my biggest issue with getting the wrong order is that I have food allergies so this issue of not preparing my order correctly is a major concern for me. I waited 30 minutes for 2 cheesesteaks. The sandwich had very little steak sitting on top of all the condiments. Majority of the steak was on one side of the sandwich and tons of Mayo to the point I couldn't tell if there was any cheese. Disgusting. I spent $34.75 on two sandwiches including a 15% tip to come home to 2 Mayo, lettuce and tomato sandwiches with a touch of meat and no cheese. I'll never order from here again. My sister and I decided to check out Mr. Everything since I've always pass by the area and heard great reviews on yelp. We made sure to go around 11:00 A.M. in order to beat the long lines. As soon as you are outside the establishment you can smell the wonderful aroma of the food. When we went inside, the restaurant, there was some pictures of celebrities like Serena Williams on the wall. You can also see the cook behind the counter, making the food. The tables circled around the counter; aesthetic wise it looked okay. They were playing 90's music, which in my opinion is the best era for music. This brought back my childhood memories. A girl took my order and there was one guy cooking the food. Even though there was one person ahead of us, we still sat there, waiting for our food for about 20 minutes or more. I got the yellow rice with chicken and steak on everything. The sauce that I got were the Creole and Chipotle ranch. At first I was afraid I may not like the food because I eat rice all the time at home and have high standards. Plus having cheese as a part of this rice meal was iffy, but surprisingly it tasted good. Everything blended together perfectly in harmony. But if I had to describe the taste, it would be like Gyro without the flatbread, but with rice instead. Thought I'd try this restaurant through UberEats. While waiting for delivery, I checked my bank account for a separate issue. Lo and behold, there was a charge back from Mr. Everything Cafe 10 minutes after placing the order. My order was cancelled with no phone call, text or email. Had I not been in my bank account I'd never have known. Seriously?? How sublimely ridiculous! Customer service and communication just don't get any worse than this. I called the restaurant and had the luck to speak to the lady who cancelled the order. She said she cancelled because they were out of pastrami. Ummm.....okaaaay. How about a phone call? Text? Email? Smoke signals? She cancelled an entire order, only 1 item of which was pastrami, rather than COMMUNICATE by any number of means at her disposal to ask if we'd like something else - AND left us hanging on an order that would never come. She said she "put a note why the order was cancelled". Trouble is, there is no note. Wish I could show a screen shot. Apologies....I have no idea how the food tastes and never will.
