I have been to this location multiple time since we one off of Veterans Memorial has closed. I went to this location yesterday after hiking a 5 mile trail, so you know I was hungry. Mahogany is great, and very entertaining while your waiting your life away for your order. She told me it would be 20 minutes for my order, and that's when it turned into an hour. Me & some of the other people that were waiting on our orders outside were looking through the window waiting. I told them I felt like a kid during summer time looking in the house waiting for dinner, and being told not to come in the house by my mom, or grandma. Visited 1 Sunday. There was only one cook. Tons of people standing around and took over 20 mins to fix the order. At least the one on MLK you are in and out for the most part without a long wait tme. I didn't know this location existed. I used to always patronize the one in the West End back in the day for the best sandwiches EVER. Read Keisha P's review and took her advice. Got the yellow rice with chicken and veggies and creole sauce. DIVINE!! We called ahead like she suggested to both avoid smelling like food, and the excessive wait. Good move. I absolutely LOVE the yellow rice dish. I've tried it with chicken, steak, lamb, and shrimp. HOWEVER, the only reason I give it 3 stars and not 5 is because of the length of time it takes to get your food. I understand this isn't fast food, but if you try to place an order ahead of time, they DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE, or if they do answer the phone they pick it up and hang it up, then next thing you know it's busy...you have no choice but to drive a minimum of 20 minutes, wait in line to place your order, wait 30-45 minutes, then drive back home! I have tried to place my order online but no luck and if you use Door Dash for pick up there are extra fees. I'm not understanding the problem with answering the phone! Answer, the phone, take the order, then say goodbye...2 minutes...simple! Owners, please train your workers better! The girl at the counter isn't doing anything but taking orders. Very rude. Then I asked about how long and she said "I don't know". Like really?? Give me an estimate or something. We asked another personnel who told us maybe 20 minutes- it was more like 35-40. Also, as a business owner, I think it's important to play neutral music. The restaurant was playing rap music which doesn't offend me, but had I had my nephew or small child with me I would've had a problem. Cashiers act like it's a problem if you ask about your food, pointed to a sign that stated "30 minute min wait time" on a dry erase board. My order had been called and they sad "he's pulling everyone's off the grill at the same time". My friend who ordered after me got called and i told the girl my name and she says "we didn't call you." And told her I ordered after my friend and so she starts to look and hands me my food. I always eat at Mr.Everything...now normally I go to the one on MLK but the line is ALWAYS long lol...this is my second time at this location and the food is great. It's made fresh to order so we aware that you're going to atleast be waiting 10,15, or 20 mins for your order. It's worth it. I've had their Cheese Steak before and it's pretty good but my favorite is the chicken and rice dish. From there you wait until they take every last customer's order in the building. So if there are 10 people giving orders, picking up food , they take all 10 orders THEN they come to the phone after they take your order it is still a 45 minute wait. Want you go in you wait until it's your turn to pick up your order. If that was in bed enough they have started to cut the portions. It used to be a time that I can come in and get a nice size meal in which it may even last for one more day. Now they have smaller containers and smaller meal sizes and of course the price is still the same. They used to have a nice amount of meat in the meals? Now it seems like they have cut half of the meat out of the meal and all you get is pretty much the vegetables. If you come to this place or you know of this place you will know that I am telling the truth. I really like the food but the wait time and a disrespect that they have you on hold is really too much for me and i started looking for other places. It took about 20 minutes to prepared but everything, no pun intended, was fresh, finely chopped, not overly proportioned, and nicely seasoned...
