We stopped in yesterday while on vacation in GA. Not having checked yelp beforehand we were blown away by the great food and service (yes, YOU, Jonathen!) We had gyros, of course, but they were different than ones at other Greek restaurants we've been to. The meat had a crispy edge to it like the end cut of prime rib, but was juicy on the other side. So good! The veggies were fresh and tomatoes were red, not pink. We had Avgolemono soup, delicious. Hey...DO NOT skip on the baklava. Omgosh it's served warm with extra honey drizzled over. We've never had it this way and we'll never eat it any other way now. It's a very large piece. Think of sharing it. Thank you, Jonathen for that suggestion! Here's what we had (online pickup order): * Baked Lemon Oregano Grecian Chicken with salad ($21.95) - half chicken, oven-roasted; garlic, Greek potatoes, and green beans * Chicken Platter with Greek potatoes ($24.95) - two chargrilled chicken kabobs with salad, pita and tzatziki The food was fresh, flavorful, tasty, and relatively healthy. I am a sucker for Greek food. I was originally trying to go to the Zaxby's across from this restaurant. I'm happy I stopped by to try them out. I loved the falafel. It was packed with so much flavor. I got the falafel platter and it came with a side of pizza as well as the salad. I wanted to try the kebabs but not order a second platter so I got an order of a kebab and it also came with pita and tzatziki sauce. I really wanted to get a dessert because look at their desserts. It's amazing, but I was too full from my food. The tzatziki sauce was good, but I wish they used fresh cucumber instead of pickled cucumbers, it was starting to taste a little pickley. I also love that they do catering as well, and the prices weren't bad either. Next time I have to try the desserts. It looks amazing. read more

Stopped for a late-night dinner. Usually I just take a gyro to go. We had an option to sit outside in the patio, but we chose to sit inside. It was freezing. Service was good and the food was amazing. I ordered calamari apertiser and it turned out to be very satisfying. My daughter chose a gyro platter wich was bigger than a sandwich, and actually could feed two. My husband enjoyed his gyro sandwich. Baklava and chocolate cake were also a success . My carrot cake was too sweet to my taste. $108- including a good tip was money well spent. read more

We decided to give It's Greek to Us a try after reading the reviews. I grew up loving Greek food thanks in large part to my father whose extroverted (and some times embarrassing behavior) got me a front seat into the kitchen of many Greek restaurant owners who my father said, "loved to show off their dishes." Sadly, without my father today, I did not inquire about a tour, this time. We had just wrapped up our Easter helicopter egg drop at Sprayberry Highschool so we were in the mood for their lamb shank served with a nicely spiced red sauce and orzo. Supper Yum! Nicole had the gyro wrap also excellent. I had no qualms with the less briny feta here, as one Yelper wrote in another review. We polished everything off with one of their many cheesecakes choices: the baklava cheesecake. OMG, very good. The restaurant has a nice sprinkling of Greek quotes from Socrates and Plato and one of their walls has azure Mediterranean waters with each of the renowned cities and Greek islands that are bucket list stops. I have been to Athens and Crete a few times but there are a lot of other cities and isles missing that I need to take my family one day. I enjoyed the family atmosphere here. The lemon soup was huge, delicious, and a great value. The gyro was a delicious balance of meat and toppings. So many places put way too many onions but not here. I upgraded to the Greek potatoes for but not sure I'd do it again. They were good but few and cumbersome to cut. The Buffalo chicken salad had 3 huge tenders. They have a nice array of homemade cheesecakes but we chose to try the generous portion of baklava. It could've used a bit more honey on top but was overall fresh and tasty! It wasn't so busy and our server was pleasant and attentive. She made great suggestions and answered our questions. The dining room was open and bright. The bathroom was clean as well. I have been a loyal fan since they opened and had lunch there yesterday, ordering the chicken oreganata. The food and service were fine. After a doctor's appointment nearby with my wife that evening, I even suggested having dinner there - two meals in a row. However, I noticed that their inspection score dropped from 100, one or their typical A inspections, to 82, a low B. I emailed them about the inspection and hope they can and will request a follow up inspection to get back to their former safety level. In the meantime, we will not return. I urge anyone reading this review or anyone who is aware of the situation to write to them at itsgreek2us@gmail.com and itsgreektous@aol.com, urging them to do the same. I'm a little disappointed. Parking is an issue at lunchtime. When I arrived there were only 2 open tables, both of which still had the remnants of the previous diners' meals. While I wouldn't call the restaurant dirty, it's basic. For the pricing, the portion is rather pitiful. I had 3 times the amount of lettuce on my Hercules wrap, is supposed to be extra meat. A gyro meal for one person shouldn't cost over $20 (after tip) when you only order tap water as a drink. I will say, the gyro meat does have flavor, but I can get a steak for about the same price. The manager refused to honor my Groupon voucher, to add insult to injury. The servers were friendly and attentive, however. I won't be going back. read more

Not too sure how I feel about this place. The chicken I had was really dry and overcooked! Only seasoning it has was salt and pepper that you can clearly see was sprinkled on after it was cooked. The place was not busy at all however the food took awhile to get to us. The server hardly came over to ask how everything was. Once we paid it was like they were anxious for us to leave. No one asked for refills and once we got up they quickly cleaned up the table. I feel like my meal was totally over priced. $21 for my platter with just a glass of water. I've always wanted to try this place since when I first moved to Atlanta and DoorDashed here a few times, on top of me liking Greek food. I was NOT disappointed. The ambiance is nice, family like and laid back in a sense. It's what I expected from a Greek restaurant. The customer service was amazing; all the servers and staff were nice, and had no complaints at all! They filled my drinks when needed, always came by to ask if everything was okay and if I needed anything, and they did it with perfect balance since sometimes it's either overkill in asking or other times you'll be looking for your server. Now, the food was PERFECT! I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Platter and it didn't disappoint. It had everything I needed for my diet right now since I'm having to eat multiple food groups in one meal. The portion size was better than expected, the temperature and flavors were perfect. And they had real chunks of feta cheese, not just the crumbles! My pita bread was nice, soft, and warm, and my chicken was grilled just how I like it, and it was not dry at all! This place is a 10 out of 10, and of course I'll be going back! THIS WAS AN ORDER WE HAD DELIVERED: I had the Greek platter. The moussaka was great! The pasticcio was what you would expect. Meh. Haven't tried my spanakopita yet, nor the baklava. But the baklava definitely does not have the flaky layers I am accustomed to and is VERY dark brown. But the biggest problem was with my husband's gyro. He immediately said, "Don't ever order from here again!' The gyro could not be eaten handheld, even with the foil. It fell apart and the bottom of the pita was like paste. For some reason the bottom of the pita as soaking wet so everything fell apart. It seemed the pita bread not been heated on a griddle and the salad that was in there with it soaked everything, and he threw it all away. Also, the gyro meat was dried and curled. It tasted like it had been sitting out and was not freshly warmed. Personally, we won't order from them again. P.S. My husband just tried the baklava.... threw it out after one bite. read more

1st time here just an overall bad experience. I ordered the chicken rice bowl which with tax was $16 I don't like tomato or onion so it was just rice, chicken and taziki sauce. The rice so so bland it tasted like a heated bad of big pilaf it was awful. The chicken was fine it was literally one kabob with all rice so portion size not it for the price. The Taziki sauce was so overpowering gave the worst breath for hours. The whole ambience is just a very confusing. This looks like a counter service when you walk in, but then you have servers which there's really no need for. I'm just guessing that they want more tips so then they have servers? My server went on a break without telling us so she never checked back on how bad the food was. Someone else came over to give us the bill as flagging him down. I must first say the service here is excellent. I believe Cynthia was our waitress and she was so friendly! There are plenty of pictures to illustrate the yummy spread of food we had for lunch. We will be back and once again, practice gluttony. With food this good you can't help yourself... As for the restaurant interior, it is spacious and plenty of room to sit without feeling like a sardine. We did not try the desserts, but they look delicious. I'm torn between 3&4 on this one We stopped by here on a Saturday around lunch to try them out and got the Pekelia platter app: kinda pricey at $16 but it does have a good bit on it. I wish they gave more pita for how much dip there is though. It comes with veg in the middle like cucumber, olive, tomato, onion + feta and dips are feta, hummus, eggplant and tzatziki. We liked the feta best and the hummus was super thick and stuck very well to the pita. Wasn't crazy about the tzatziki being on here especially since most places kinda give you a side of it as dipping not as a paid app. Chicken lemon orzo soup: the broth was creamy and very tasty, full of lemon flavor. Chicken was pulled chicken pieces and it did have a good bit. The pic is deceiving because all of the fillings are on the bottom. Hercules gyro with salad: we were a bit disappointed in the gyro as the flavor wasn't really vibrant. It was very moist meat but no grill marks from the spit or charring and kinda just tasted like boiled meat. They add tzatziki or something as a sauce but it was kinda bland in the flavor. I think of the sandwich, you could taste the pita the most which was a surprise since most Greek places, the gyro is the star. They do give you a lot of meat though All of this around $40 and we have half the wrap left and a little of the spreads left and the salad side. They have some desserts like cheesecakes for sale but we didn't try any on this visit. The vibe is super casual but entrees priced kinda high for how casual like diner casual but $16+ for most entrees except wraps. Menus were kinda sticky and the booth seats were pretty torn up but they were friendly and the cutlery/machinery looked clean from what I saw. We love It's Greek To Us. It's our go-to for Greek food anywhere in Atlanta. Latest experience... met friends for dinner. 2 of us had the Gyro platter. Their gyro meat is fantastic. One had the Chicken Souvlaki. Huge portion. Delicious! Brought 1/2 home. The 4th is vegetarian/vegan???. Ordered the Falafel wrap. She enjoyed. The service went above and beyond... wife dropped her purse in the parking lot afterwards. She didn't realize her wallet was under the car and didn't notice until next morning. Checked with the restaurant as soon as she noticed. Turns out one of the waiters (Jonathan) drove it to our house and dropped it off after his shift. So thankful for his efforts. While visiting my sister in Marietta, it was a late Sunday evening and I needed dinner. This was the only place that wouldn't be closing in the hour so I swung over to get some food. Service was very efficient. From walking in, order placing to walking out with my order, I couldn't have been there more than 20 minutes. They were super friendly too. Got the shrimp wrap with a salad as my side. That was one of the best salads I've had. I loved the dressing on it. The shrimp wrap had several plump shrimp on it that were seasoned well and I liked how the pita had just the right amount of crispness to it without it being over cooked. I used to visit this place once weekly for the same order for years. Falafel wrap and fries. It was good at first then the food started declining. So I would always place a to go order and pick my food up only to get back to work open my food and the falafel's are way overcooked and the french fries should be called soft fries small all the salt I backed off from ordering for about a year and recently went back in the last couple of months. The food was a lot better, but I still order no salt fries with freshly made falafel's, but today I get in pick up my order and the order has went from $12.74 to $15.50 only to look at my food and it's a handful of fries or a pinch is more like it and back to the black falafels so from this point on, I have decided to no longer give my money to. I have eaten here twice in the last few months. Both times was for lunch and each time they had a good amount of customers, but not packed. There is off street parking right in front of the restaurant. The food was pretty good, and the service was good. Lots of to go business going on I could see as I waited and ate. They have a patio outside also when the weather is nice. The place seems more like a diner of either days gone by or somewhere up north. I would have liked to see Greek people but none of them appeared to be Greek. Oh well.. They have a condiment basket too on most tables or they bring you one. Most everything comes with a choice of side and most get fries. They drop the condiment basket with the food and I opted for fries for a change and just my luck there is no salt in the condiment basket. A bit annoying but so it goes. read more
