    Ambiance

The ambiance is everything!! Food was ok but not totally my speed. Service was absolutely great, from the host, to the waiter and everyone in between! I ordered the beet salad, a filet, macaroni gratin, and a Dot Dot Dash drink (so refreshing). The steak was cooked to perfection!! The Mac & cheese had great flavor. I only did the beet salad because it reminded me of my abuelita and it wasn't bad just nothing I'd ever crave. I wouldn't say this is a place that I'd have to come back to but it is a place you need to experience once.

This place is rather unfortunate. Is a really beautiful space that's been renovated completely. The decor is elevated and beautiful.. but that's where the elevation stops. Their apparently are two hostess stands, which doesn't make much sense because although there are two people staffed at the one host to stand, they have you walk through the entire restaurant to go through to the other stand to be seated. This is so inefficient can they not communicate with each other to just see the people from whichever door they come in? We met the waiter. He was very crass . He did not have any polish considering the price point of the restaurant. We started with some appetizers, including the beet salad, the ravioli, the jumbo shrimp, and the bread service. The beet salad looked nice but the dressing had no flavor at all. The ravioli were so underwhelming the sauce was flat. The filling of the ravioli had a sharp taste like lemon zest. Probably just a touch too much. The bread was good, but not amazing. Serve nicely. The shrimp or served per each. $12 per shrimp. They were nicely sized and very fresh.. For larger plates, we shared the steak dish for two . We also added onto two vegetables, one being succotash, the second one was creamed chard. The state came to the table room temperature. This was a total turn off. It is served with bone marrow, which was nothing but fat. The side dishes, the creamed Swiss chard was actually the star of dinner. It was most flavorful and salted well. The succotash should have been titled creamy mixed vegetables. It taste it more like creamed corn with mixed vegetables. If we had known it was gonna be creamy, we probably wouldn't have ordered the chard. The service was a little bit on the slow side. We had to ask someone to bring the wine bottle back to the table to refill. The bus person handed us the bottle of wine. He didn't even make any attempt to pour it. All in all outside of the ambience, this restaurant has a lot of kinks to work out. I would like to say it was all in the service, but that was lackluster as well. The food needs some work, especially in the flavor department.. it has great potential being such a beautiful space. There were many empty tables tonight. The meal was $360 all in. That includes one bottle of wine, one shared entrée, three small sides and two vegetables. Definitely not rushing back to the restaurant, especially as it's only been open for four weeks.

    Posted dress code

Don't bother trying to go here if you're not White. They have a made up and discriminatorily enforced dress code -- the dress code posted on their website is actually not consistent with what the hostesses will say at the door. We came here after dinner at Uchi (no problems there). And they claimed "graphic tees" were prohibited online (not true, see below). They intentionally have a different dress code posted online from the one they enforce at the door, making it a roll of the dice whether you'll get into this place for your res. Avoid this NYC trap, go support a local Philly business.

After reading reviews prior to coming, I was a bit wary that maybe the atmosphere sold itself more than the food quality. However, I was pleasantly surprised by both. I made a reservation for my friend and I, and we were both seated fairly promptly. We shared 6 plates and a table-side Negroni; none of which I had any complaint. As someone who considers themselves particularly critical when eating out, Mr. Edison left me without words. Every bite we had was fantastic, including the 5 oz. filet (I'm very particular about steak & this one was incredible). If I had to make one complaint, it would be about the table-side Negroni: when being served, the drink tended to splash around a bit because of the ice cube, but this is neither a detrimental or unfixable mistake. All in all, I thought it was an incredible dining experience, with beautiful scenery, and amazing atmosphere (including the music). I will definitely be back

When I attempted to gather my things and leave due to his uncomfortable behavior, he physically blocked me with his arm to prevent me from walking away, forcing me to push his arm aside and tell him explicitly not to touch me. After being persuaded by the other women to stay in a different area, he followed us, continuing to make inappropriate comments. It escalated to the point where six people, three men, two other women, and myself were actively telling him to leave us alone. When security finally stepped in as things became heated, staff merely hung around rather than removing the individual causing the disturbance. We moved to the Red Room to get away from him, but he followed us and sat next to me again. An employee or security staff member sat between us, but while sitting there, the man in the jacket continued making disgusting remarks about me directly to your employee. When I defended myself and snapped at him, your staff told me to stop, effectively policing the victim rather than addressing the aggressor. Despite us repeatedly asking why he was allowed to stay, your staff continued to serve him alcohol. Instead of removing the person causing the harassment, your staff escorted our group into the Vault Room during a private wedding party event, placing us out of sight rather than removing the threat from the main venue. When we eventually moved back to the bar, he approached me yet again. He boasted that it was "his bar" and that he "knew the owner," implying he was immune to being removed. He then attempted to shake my hand, claiming "no disrespect," after an entire evening of harassment. It was a slow night with minimal crowds. If your venue prioritizes safety, I encourage you to review the camera footage from that Sunday night or speak directly to the staff who worked that shift. Escorting uncomfortable women to separate rooms and continuing to serve an aggressive, physically boundary-crossing man simply because he claims a connection to ownership is not protecting women. It is enabling unacceptable behavior.

Admittedly, when we used to go, it was during a time we could only really sit outside and enjoy our bevs, or take them to go, and NOW we get to bask in the warm lighting, the INCREDIBLE soundtrack, and the perfect energy of the staff, so I think it's about time to re-review. Four Humours is the place I'd take a date (in fact, I did bring my husband last night), a girlfriend, a group getting ready to hit the town, OR for a night cap. it's so versatile - it can be whatever you need it to be. Like the Room of Requirement, only boozier. The crew gets SO creative with their cocktails - we've sipped on ones featuring pho-infused agave, chicken schmaltz-washed bourbon, carrot and pineapple foam, pandan - and they're always switching it up seasonally and I can not WAIT to find out what's coming this fall. Cocktails range from $15-20, pretty similar to most of the neighborhood, but they are STRONG. I started buzzing after 2 the last time I went. I love this for the jump-off to a night out or, as a mother of 3 who's hustling home for the babysitter, a one-stop shop. Added bonus: you can order food delivered to the bar! Pro-tip, if you get pizza share with the bartenders. If you order South Sichuan you just might melt from the SPICE level. No matter what you're doing with the night, you're gonna have a great time AND a few great bevs!

Conflicted experience for our pre-game here before taking in a concert…read more First off, there are not many options in this part of the city for bars which is located across the street from Union Transfer (small concert venue). As we were attending a show at 8pm at Union Transfer we met up for a drink and some food at Poison Heart. The vibe is a very darkly lit bar, heavy grunge music (think screaming, all screaming and rage), and a movie on a large screen in black and white from what looked like the 1950's. I started with the Yamanote Line (Midori, Japanese vodka, Tequila, Honeydew & citrus, bubbles). This drink packs a punch and I enjoyed it; it is a bit too sweet to have multiples of the drink, so I moved on to the Trouble Boy. Trouble boy consists of a Thai tea infused mezcal, aged rum, coconut, orange & lime, and nutmeg. Again, the drink was a bit sweet and now I am in for $32 for two drinks. They have interesting drinks for sure, but my gut told me they may be trying too hard to find a killer drink as neither of these really spoke to me except on raising my blood sugar pretty severely (I can watch in real time as I have a dexcom blood glucose monitor that shows my sugar). On to the food. Again, very interesting items. I went with the Keeg Veeg (fried eggplant, long hots, pickled carrot, cukes, cilantro, black bean paste & vega sriracha mayo). Now this item definitely cleaned out my sinuses. I only ate half as I didn't love the seeded bread. The sandwich reminded me of a Vietnamese hoagie. I enjoyed it but didn't love it. My friend got the Gary Cooper, which is a hand cut ribeye burger. The burger appeared to be very small but looked good. Couple tips based on my experience, do not get the Oyster River dry cider, my friend said it tasted like oysters and he had to send it back as it was undrinkable. All in all, the place wasn't bad but after the concert we had a choice to go back to this place or walk about half a mile to the nearest bar and that's what we did. The four of us each getting two or so drinks per person and some bar food came out to $267. This one is a one and done for me, but I appreciate they have some unique items on the menu.
