Bubble tea

So impressed with this place! The food was so flavourful. Authentic and delicious! Feels like a local go-to spot as I saw tons of take out orders while I was picking up my order. I had an order of the pork wontons, the shrimp and chicken dumplings, hot and sour soup and a bubble tea. All fantastic, a must try.

Great dumplings and great service. They have 5 choices of dumplings and you can get them steamed or fried. We chose D1, D2 and D3 and they were all delicious. You can dip them in their home made soy sauce which is sweet, sourish and not too salty. We also got the salt and pepper shrimp. Although the taste and spiciness were good, the fried batter on the shrimp was too hard and it made the shrimp very dry. I also got the jasmine milk tea with boba. For a place not specialised in bubble tea, it was pretty decent and not too sweet. The boba were also very chewy. The place is small but cozy and clean. It has 4 tables. The girl was very sweet and helpful and the food came quickly. Would definitely come back!

------------------LOCATION: 5/5---------------- The location where Mr. Dumpling is at is one of the prime locations in this area. If you're checking it out here, there's paid parking outside. --------------------FOOD: 2/5------------------- I got the Matcha Milk Tea with Lechee Pearls and I would say that it was okay. I'm not a fan of the pearls. Although, I originally wanted the Milk Tea with Pearls but they ran out of about half of what was on the menu, unfortunately and that was the only thing they had available. I deducted points for unavailability for my tea, for my pearls, as well as the lechee pearls. Not a fan. The cups were cute though, it looks reusable. They should use an incentive that if people bring back their cups, they get a discount. Could pose a hygiene-risk, but I'm just trying to be environmentally friendly. -------------------SERVICE: 4/5------------------ The woman in the front seemed like a really nice person and I could see she had a lot going on, especially for a new business that just opened about 7 weeks ago (as of this writing). We waited about 10 minutes for our boba, which seems a bit long but I think with time, the process and skills of being served will be better. -----------------ATMOSPHERE: 4/5--------------- I like how small and quaint it is. However, I can see how it can be a bad thing since there's only a handful of tables and people might have to wait longer to be seated. --------------------PRICE: 4/5-------------------- I would say the price is average to what other restaurants charge boba. Total for two including tax was around $13. =============OVERALL: 3.8/5.0=========== I understand it's a new business. I believe that once they're able to stock up so they don't run out of tea and pearls, they could be a neighborhood favorite. But as of now, a 3.8 is what I would rate them. Although, my partner and I are keen to come back!

An assortment of steamed & fried dumplings, won top soup & peanut sauce dumplings (get those!)

Highly recommend this spot! Dumplings are delicious and prices are very reasonable (the dumplings are larger than most other spots I've tried). The shrimp+chicken dumplings, porc, peanut sauce were all great and the won ton soup was delicious. The service was perfect, the woman was very kind, patient and brought the food out when it was ready to not have to enter again. Very happy to see this in verdun as it's the ultimate comfort food along with some soup & tea in winter.

Pretty pricey but you know I'm still buying it! This is an absolute must for a Montreal visit, or…read moreeven as a local. (I got my friend who lived here hooked on these!) This spot is so cute as well and totally ig worthy if you're into that - with cute little pink chairs at the front and aesthetic cups! The flavours are so so interesting and unique, you'll never find anything similar. I'd love to give everything (other than original) a try. I'd recommend the milk based ones because they're just so much creamier and more satisfying than the fruity ones! The one with mango and condensed milk is absolute FIRE from the sip I stole. Also they can switch out milks if your tummy is sensitive to dairy, which is what I did. The matcha guava was super interesting and delicious, and the pandan horchata was a show stopper to say the least. (Apparently the miso milk tea is an acquired taste - a bit too savoury... so don't get that unless you're into it!) These run at about $10 a cup so definitely the priciest boba I've ever bought but definitely still a must try!

A different kind of bubble tea place. They have such an interesting menu. I've only had two of…read moretheir drinks so far and they're good but a bit pricey considering the size. The ube is easily my favourite, great flavours and really fresh. The other one I had was with pear and I thought that one was hit or miss. It wasn't my favourite. I do enjoy this chain but with the overwhelming competition around I think they just fade into the background a bit more. I love that their cups and straws are eco friendly!

This is a casual Taiwanese joint in the heart of downtown Montreal, with easy access to Centre…read moreBell, which came in handy for us recently. They seem to do a fair bit of takeaway for bubble teas and foods. We were seated quickly and the menu was accessible via a QR code, except the code printed on our table was so faded that our scanner didn't recognise it and we had initial trouble loading up the menu. There was another of the same code printed on a specials menu, which is how we got our menu up. The food took about 10 minutes and there were a few other groups dining in. The vasir rice is something we had wanted to try for a few months, and it was overall worth the wait, although it's still not my all-time fave minced pork rice. The pork was tender and thankfully they serve a good amount of juice so the whole thing wasn't dry, which has been an issue with some other versions of this dish elsewhere. The use of stir fried veggies is interesting and again something we haven't seen elsewhere, and while it's not my fave, it's one of the better versions we've had. I initially balked at the seemingly copious amounts of sauce over the cheese potato korokke, but apparently we needed all that sauce and, while is rather not have cheese in my korokke, it was cooked like it should (crisp on the outside, tender inside) and was tasty. Staff come around with a handheld EFTPOS for payment, and it was all in all a pretty seamless experience. I would return for the same and other stuff in the future.

We ordered: General Tao poutine ($16) Fried squid tentacles ($7) Iron plate noodles ($14) Oyakodon ($13.45) Beef noodle soup ($13.25) Drinks: Dark oolong creamy ($5.75) Aloe lemonade winter melon ($5.7) Passion fruit green tea ($5.8) Pretty decent size portions here! The general Tao poutine was surprisingly really delicious and unique! It used sweet potato fries and instead of gravy, a sweet savory sauce! The squid tentacles were super crispy. The iron plate noodles were kind of basic. It straight up tasted of just black pepper. The oyakodon was pretty okay too. The beef noodle soup had really chewy noodles and the beef was good but portion was smaller than I thought. Don't order this if you can't handle spice! The drinks were especially good and extremely worth it if you order their biggest size! Love that they come with so many options and toppings.
