They will put your food in micro-wave for whatever you order that's meant to be warm. Their poke bowls are poorly made and the over do it with the soya - which ruins your meal. I've tried this place 3-4 times and it just gets worst. read more

Amazing service. Newly renovated. Great prices and unlike the other franchises they don't skimp on the fish. Also very kid friendly.

This is the 5-star culinary equivalent to Cirque du Soliel, in that six people collaborated in small teams to prepare and present each delicious course with flair. Before each round, we were presented with the fish that was the base of the dish to follow. I liked this a lot because often I need to google less common fish to learn what they look like. I appreciated the tea ceremony at the end. It was a lovely finale to a very memorable experience. We will definitely return.

We showed up at 5:30 without a reservation and I wasn't sure we'd be able to snag a table. And honestly, if we had gotten there 15 minutes later, we probably would have had a long wait. So far, so good. We were seated at a table near the sushi bar and there was a vibration coming through the floor that was loud and a bit unpleasant. The prices were a little high which was a little off putting. But, we saw a couple of options - like a sushi boat - on their website ... but it turns out that is only for takeout, which is just weird. Service was slow and the wait staff disappeared at times. Normally, these things would have me deducting stars. But can I just say that the food was so darn good that I can overlook all of it. It was absolutely outstanding. Vegan sushi rich with umami. Rich with flavor. We didn't miss the fish.

For our mains, we shared the Snake and Unagi rolls; both were 5/5. We wish we had ordered the Rainbow roll instead of the Snake, but my daughters love spicy. If we had bigger tummies, we would have ordered both. Cocktails and mocktails were on point! The mochie for something sweet at the end was delicious! Located on the 45th floor, you can get beautiful panoramic views of the city, including of the St. Lawrence river. Highly recommend stopping by to watch the sunset transition into nighttime. Now onto their menu- I was expecting a bit more food options, but they really only have light bites/appetizers, so I'd eat elsewhere beforehand. I ordered the Wagyu brioche, which was incredible, but I wasn't as impressed with the crispy hosomaki, which was overly salty and didn't have that much dimension of flavor. The drinks were incredible and innovative though, incorporating authentic Japanese flavors and three eras of Japan's history. Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.
