Food is always so fresh and amazzzzing! Huge fan of anything shrimp and they have the best options…read more Service is always with a smile Ambiance always a easy check out

I have a tradition of treating my students to an end-of-stage lunch and while usually I bring them…read moreto Tranche de Bonheur this time, because of a snow storm, we opted to order delivery instead, which meant choosing something else. (Because I'm not hip and refuse to use UberEats and whatnot..) We decided on sushi and both whipped out our phones, my student checked Google and I, of course, checked Yelp. Cross referencing between the 2 we settled on Rabu Sushi because it was the only nearby sushi option with 4 stars or more on Yelp. Thank you Yelpers you've done it once again! We ordered: - Kappa ($3.45) : delicious as usual, good portion of rice to cucumber and it stayed together well - Vegetarian ($7.20) : I'm not sure I agree with the price for these ones, but they sure were delicious and I was pleasantly surprised with how well the shredded carrot went with the other ingredients - Spicy Crab ($8.00) : fantastic! I think it could have been a bit spicier but that turned out ok 'cuz my student wasn't really into spicy - Angel ($9.65) : one of their specialty rolls with raw tuna, tomago and crab as well with tempura, absolutely my favorite. It was soo tasty! The soy sauce was the usual perfect sushi soy sauce and came with the usual wasabi and ginger fixins. The service was really very sweet over the phone and the dude who delivered. The lady initially said a 40 minute wait which was a bit overzealous I think in the snowstorm that day. I called at the hour.15 mark and they were really very sweet about explaining the delay. Total wait was 1.5 hours which was totally reasonable with the weather that day. I do find it a bit too expensive as far as sushi goes, but it really was fantastic and fresh. No fishy taste whatsoever which gets my 100% seal of approval. I would definitely order from here again. I give it 4.5 stars rounded up in good faith that service and freshness will remain.

I can't believe there's an authentic Japanese place 30 seconds from my apartment! I should be…read moreashamed of myself as a Japanese lmao. I have walked by this place so many times for the past year and I never entered because I thought it was a shady place owned by a non-Japanese person. However, I was still really curious, so I decided to take it to Yelp (like I do with every restaurant), and I found out the owners were Japanese! Also, by authentic, I don't mean authentic as in it's completely the same as how they make it in Japan. This restaurant adapted well, kept the essence of Japanese food and culture while adding in some Canadian/Montrealer elements. It also isn't fancy Japanese food like many restaurants here, it's very casual and has a lot of foods that Japanese families would make (which might not be appreciated by people who aren't too familiar with Japanese culture). I personally really liked that a lot though! My family and I went there for a weekday dinner. It was not crowded at all, there was only another table taken by 2 people and that was it. The place is small, only has a few tables, which gave a nice homey vibe but seemed difficult if it was super crowded. We ordered a sushi plate and many appetizers because we were very excited. We got Japanese croquettes, ebi tempura (shrimp tempura), aji furai (fried horse makarel), agedashi tofu (fried tofu with dashi or broth), then we got some matcha ice cream as dessert. They were all delicious and being deprived of Japanese food, my sister and I were just in heaven. The only letdown was the service, the owners had a somewhat cold attitude and didn't have a lot of "will" to serve, unlike the usual customer service in Japan. But I personally don't mind that too much, since I care more about the food than the service. But if you do mind the atmosphere and the all-around vibe of the place, you might want to take that into consideration. Overall, I would recommend this place to smaller groups on non-peak hours. They're only operated by a couple, so it will be understaffed when it's a full house. Our food came super quick when there was only one other group, but I don't really know how bad it'll be when there are more people. The food brought me back to my childhood so I'll definitely be visiting when I feel like some comfort food again, especially when it's so close by!

This place is very small but do not judge a book by it cover. The menu is very good selection. We…read morestarted off with tempura vegetables which were very hot crispy and fresh. We order 7 different types of sushi. The sushi rolls were fresh and tightly rolled. The service was great and recommend the place as one of the five top places in Montreal. The prices are very reasonable and we will be back.
