This is a 18 month old boiler. in researching the maintenance kit from Weil Mclain for the boiler is about 150 dollars. I was quoted 1838 dollars for the maintenance When looking at the facts on time and material I find the following: Maintenance Kit Cost: Genuine Weil-McLain AquaBalance Annual Maintenance Kits (typically containing gaskets, an ignitor, and a flame sensor) are widely available online for $147.00 to $257.00. Labor Time: The manufacturer advises that a complete preventative maintenance procedure should take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Even if charging 200 dollars and hour and a premium kit price ($250), a fair total would be approximately $650 to $750. The quote of $1,838 is nearly triple the high-end estimate. Precharging 125 dollar up front , plus fees and taxes bringing it to over 135 dollars and stating it is required and never having even recieved what the possible fees they charges are is unscrupulous when they are charging over 3X the national average, and when i called for a refund on the estimate stating this i was outright refused. If i could give ZERO stars i would!!

The second job, just last week, required the replacement of a water pipe literally buried behind a bluestone wall, coupled with replacing a related elbow encased in cement (can you imagine?) in our basement. It's hard to ponder a more miserable and challenging job. Danny and Phil pulled off a mini-miracle, managing to complete the work entirely in our basement, and not rip up my kitchen, which we were dangerously close to doing.

Another Plummer from Angie's list was called in for the repair that HSM failed to complete and this second plumber exhibited such integrity he showed up and quickly accessed the minor clog problem by removing a washcloth that was clogging the drain under the shower area for a reasonable price of $250. ALL I WILL SAY IS BUYER BEWARE OF HSM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE DEALING WITH A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL.

Anyway they assessed the situation and broke into my bathroom wall. The problem was a leaky pipe that connects to the tub upstairs. For a tiny leak in one pipe in the corner of our bathroom ceiling, they tore tear down MOST of the ceiling, removing the overhead fixture, and breaking it, breaking the hot water valve, leaving the toilet so it would not flush, leaving bulging in the wall showing there was still water behind that wall and destroying the plaster and wall, disabling the overhead electricity, leaving the wires wrapped in a plastic bag, and smashing a beautiful vanity and sink. So, they left us with a smashed sink, no hot water, no bathroom ceiling, no flushing toilet, a badly damaged wall, and no light in that bathroom, a broken fixture and electric wires wrapped overhead in a plastic bag They said they would return,,would not give their name, and lied about all of the damage to everyone we reported it to. We feel M&M plumbing hires independent workers off the books so they cannot be found or held responsible.
