However my wife ordered a tortilla bowl and did not receive multiple of the ingredients she added to hers Including the pico that we paid $2.50 to add. Clean new burrito place in Chattanooga. Not that Chattanooga needs another burrito place, but I feel it's more authentic Mexican wrapped up than the usual burrito fare around the city. They also grill the burrito before they serve them, so that's a change! We got two burritos to go. I got a regular grilled chicken and my husband got the chipotle. He didn't care for his chicken, but I'll let him share more in his review. By the time we got home (almost 30 minutes because of a traffic and trains) the burritos were still pretty warm and everything had congealed into a yummy mixture. I do think that grilling the burritos, while delicious, compromises the integrity of the shell and my burrito fell apart more than half way through. Also, it had a fair amount of oil on it that made it super slippery. But that could all be because it sat so long, so I'm not deducting stars from that, yet. Burritos are served with chips and a 4oz side of their salsa which was homemade and so good. We'll definitely return, but will just eat there instead. Plus queso is FREE inside the burrito. I came here on my business trip to Chattanooga. The parking situation at the location is hectic. If you can't find on street parking, parking in lots around the restaurant is hard to find without fear of getting towed. I decided to park across the street at Champy's and rush in and out of Mr. Burrito Grill. This place was delicious, it is like chipotle or pretty much any other burrito place except with more variety in meat and toppings. When we arrived it was just after 8pm and the dining area was trashed. No tables to sit at other than the ones by the soda machine. The kitchen area was clean and looked fresh. The staff was short and not super helpful. I think more than anything there may have been a language barrier but they definitely made my meal the way I asked. My friend had a little mix up and one of the ladies was a little upset with him. The food was great though. I ordered two tacos and I had al pastor and the chipotle shredded chicken. Each had great flavor and I topped them both with spicy mayo and pineapple as well as most of the common toppings like lettuce, cheese, and fajita veggies. When I bit into it I was in awe so much flavor. I would definitely go back for the food. My friends got burritos and same thing. What I really like is that once you finish adding all of your burrito items they will then take it to the back and mix everything together. Real amazing concept that sets them apart! read more

I'm so happy this place opened up in our neighborhood! As other reviewers have mentioned, you get way more than you pay for. The prices are incredible. Luckily, when we went, it was my turn to pay. We thought we were really splurging, getting guacamole and queso on both items as well as a drink. We still got out for under $20, which never happens in Chatt. We met one of two men that own it, and he was very professional and friendly. It's very clean, and the selection is phenomenal. Almost everything has a mild, regular, or spicy option- the queso, chicken, and salsas each had these tiers to pick from. We were even offered samples on chips of sauces we weren't sure about or hadn't had before. We went in the middle of the day on Sunday, but it looks like the keep really great hours. It's nice to finally have somewhere to go sit down and eat on MLK besides Champy's after hitting the two breweries on the street. Speaking of which, they have craft beer cans as well as Jarritos Mexican sodas! Definitely recommend. read more

For as pricey as things can get in downtown Chattanooga, mr. Burrito is really found a late-night Mitch with me and my family. It is authentic Mexican food, so authentic that the ladies making your food can barely understand what you say to them. That's fine though, we all make it work. Their burritos are massive and for $10, not a better deal in this area of town for this kind of food. I've only ever heard of the tacos being a smaller portion and for 7:50 I would expect that, but had never experienced it firsthand. They do Tinder app charge for extra queso or sauce I believe it runs about $2? I can't really remember since I'm not there. Look; the food is awesome. But I simply can't return after a situation that could have been avoided with some respect for a regular customer. The owner got my 2 tacos and told me i would get upcharged for adding 2 kinds of beans (black beans and refried beans...the black beans to balance out the health and refriend beans for the taste lol) and he told me immediately it was "too difficult to add that much" and that "there will be a 99cent" upcharge. It says nowhere on the menu about adding 2 kinds of beans being an upcharge; and the previous 3 times I have been here--with one of the times the owner actually making my 2 tacos like I usually do-- they never upcharged me for the 2 kinds of beans. He got mad at me when I pointed out that they never upcharged me; and we kinda started arguing to a point of where I felt it was pointless to argue over such a simple matter. He kept reverting back to his stance that "other people always ask for so much extra stuff" and I kept trying to tell him "All i'm doing is asking for an extra kind of bean that is IT, nothing else. The rest of my toppings on the tacos, like they usually are, consisted of carnitas, lettuce, tomato, and hot sauce. I'm trying to be as unbiased as I can about this review and not make it emotional. I just don't see another flavor of beans....(I don't want EXTRA beans I just want the same single portion with black/refried beans combined) a reason to upcharge a regular student customer when I hadn't gotten up-charged the last 3 times by his respectful employees and himself "because it was my first time" (which it wasn't...I was new to HIM). The food is super, super flavorful though; I still paid and tipped like I usually do because I respect businesses like this...but when I don't get respect back....I just feel like I can't return because of the argument we had that he ultimately kept bringing back up. I tried to drop it but he got annoyed that I chose to not just pay the extra 99cents...which I'm just trying to get a quick bite to eat after studying. I don't have a disposable income like his other customers might have because I am a college student that has to save every dollar. The quesadillas are good too; the chefs in the back that make them are high quality and have knowledge of authentic food in my opinion. The tacos are inexpensive yet high quality; but that played into how the owner felt about this situation unfortunately. The most UNauthentic Mexican place you can find. Overpriced, and VERY rude staff. They will not tell you how much your total is once you purchase, and once I asked for it, they went back into the computer and changed it. I would not be surprised if they add extra charges. The food is SO bland, oh...and they are always "out of guacamole." Also, I requested to have some of my toppings in a cup on the side instead of inside the burrito (because who likes warm lettuce) and they said that would be an extra charge... it's the same thing. They acted like I was asking for free food. Once I asked for a small task, they began speaking derogatory in Spanish about me, thinking I did not understand them. I, myself, speak fluent Spanish. Portions are massive. I had the chipotle shredded chicken burrito. This is the only burrito place That I know of that offers shredded chicken. They also have steak, ground beef, diced chicken, carnitas, and barbacoa beef. Chipotle chicken was good but not quite as flavorful as I expected. You can add queso to your burrito at no extra charge, which is a huge plus. You can can get black, pinto or refried beans. They have plenty of toppings to choose from on the cold side. I love burritos, and I really was excited to try this place out. I got a chicken burrito with the works. (I.e. lettuce, cheese, onions, quac, sour cream, rice and beans) Unfortunately I knew before my burrito was finished that it was going to be less than excellent. The ingredients at the bar looked old and the lettuce was sitting in a pool of water. Once I got home I dug in anyways and it wasn't horrible by any means, but definitely not up to par with other burritos in Chatt like Mojo and poblanos. It was Uber greasy and soggy. This place has a good location near UTC campus with a good amount of seating inside however, the service there is horrendous. Their sodas are all watered down and it took 10 minutes for anyone to come to the front to take my order. They have great options but none of the food out front is maintained.
