Nowhere on the menu was it listed that they did this (plus it was a high fee)!!! My partner brought it up to the hostess who pulled the manager over and they reassured us it's in the menu... and guess what?! It wasn't in the menu!! This place is Amazing. I was ordering food to go, so I was only in the restaurant for about 15 minutes. I love the way it looked, smelled, and ultimately tasted, and the service was very pleasant. The Pollo Rico I ordered was very good. So good, in fact, that I was stuffed but could not stop eating. It was a decent place when it first opened As time went on they kept getting worse and worse then they started making you pay before you eat because so many people would walk out without paying because the food was so terrible. I've been here 2 times. First time absolutely amazing. Second time wasn't the best. So Destynie was the first server we had and she did an excellent job and got tipped very well. Making sure we were good as a table and having the conversation we had. Now getting onto our second time there. Service was eh. Don't even remember who we had tall whitedude that apparently owned a landscaping business but only works there in the winter time. He was constantly forgetting things or us as a table. Had to ask 4 times just for a simple refill. We had to repeat what we needed a couple of time. Then comes the bill. We walk up to pay. One of our people didn't tip cause the guys were going to tip good. Between the $80 bill combined we tipped about $14 which is low for me or any bill. But what makes this worse is your server walked up to the cashier and stood there watching us fill out the receipt. First person didn't tip cause the guys were going to and the server was annoyed and was like that's harsh as we're still all in line to pay. So now you have 2 guys that are standing there in the same party listening to this. Completely unacceptable to be standing there COMPLAINING about what tips you're getting in front of customers. He's lucky I even tipped anything with that kinda attitude. I'm sure I'll be back but I'll ask for Destynie. read more

These 3 friends can cook! My husband had a strawberry margarita which was NOT Short on alcohol. I had the shrimp chimichangas without cheese on top. I was pleased that they were bigger than I thought they would be and were filled with a delicious fajita mix with a good amount of sour cream and guacamole on the side. It came with pleasant tasting refried beans but i had to order rice on the side and it lacked flavor. My husband had the Chile Colorado which tasted wonderful. The menu said spicy and it wasn't spicy to me just full of flavor. On the down side the chips and salsa were nothing special. The service was fast and not overbearing. In town for a conference and decided to check out this restaurant based on other positive reviews. First impressions were that it was clean, staff appeared committed & organized, and I was seated quickly, opting for a solo stool at the bar since I was by myself and didn't want to take up a booth or table. The server/bartender delivered chips & salsa and got me started with a beer right away. The menu was robust and easy to navigate, but I did ask a few questions and they were able to help me with no language barrier. I ordered the Enchiladas Supreme, with three different varieties (chicken, beef, and cheese), and it was delivered quickly, with great presentation, and tasted great. I was happy the person delivering the food warned me about the plate being hot, but I was most impressed that multiple people, not just my server, checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed, or whether I wanted an additional beer. I left with a full stomach and no heartburn over the price. Would definitely recommend this establishment if you're in the area and enjoy Mexican cuisine. read more

Very good Mexican food. Great service. The drinks were something special - I had the Tropical Margarita and my wife had their special Sangria. WOW. The quest was delicious. The grilled burrito was super tasty and only lacked one thing - didn't seem actually grilled. No grill marks or browning of the tortilla. But when I say it only lacked that one thing - I mean it. per usual im always craving a yummy mexican spot! so we looked up good spots on yelp and it brought us here! We sat at the bar, i don't remember our bartenders name but we are more than sure he was in training or fairly new, seemed like he was in the weeds going back and forth to tables and then to us most of the time, in more of a panic / rush state but that's okay we've all been there!! (i'm a server/bartender so i have sympathy for it!) drinks were okay, i ordered a spicy jalapeño margarita and my boyfriend ordered a top shelf margarita. mine wasn't really spicy (but that may just be me i'm a sucker for some spicy margs LOL) but more of on the sweet side and so was my boyfriends margarita. He gave his a 6/10 i gave mine a 7/10 but it wasn't too bad so we stuck with it, but our food , OH BOY, our food was AMAZING. I ordered a side of rice , extra pico and sour cream and 2 out there spicy sauces habanero and el verde sauces (not pictured) but oh my i ate EVERYTHING UP , i almost choked while eating because i was eating so fast HAHA, and took the rest for leftovers. So so SO good, i highly recommend coming here, it's a little hidden in the plaza so you gotta keep a lookout for it, but the place is fun, very welcoming hosts and staff members , they helped out our bartender and got us things we needed and made sure we were happy when our bartender was struggling a bit, love to see the teamwork!! Don't let the 4 star fool you. The staff is friendly, nicely decorated dining room, clean and good lunch value. Chips were fresh and salsa was good, not overwhelmingly spicy. Two of us had the lunch shrimp chimi served with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and guacamole. Comes with a side of beans. The chimi has sautéed onions and peppers with queso on top. My husband loved it, but I thought the onions and peppers were burnt. He calls it charred. That's just not my thing. Good portion size with a nice amount of shrimp. Beans were delicious!! My mother had the 1/2 poblano served with rice and beans. She really enjoyed hers other than the rice a little dry. Overall a good meal at a good price. read more

We came here after Taco Bell lost our business and it was delicious. I'm a refried bean fanatic and usually judge my Mexican meals by how good the beans are. Here they were excellent. I had a veggie B meal, which included a chalupa, enchilada, and beans and rice. There was enough for a second meal tomorrow. Hubs had his usual mixed fajitas and said his meal was good too. We ate at the bar because there was a wait but the service was fast and the food was good and hot. No complaints! Would come here again if I were local. read more

We were very late arriving after 10 hours on the road and just needed quality/not fast food and we were thrilled we found this place. It was nice and clean and had very friendly service. We ordered the guacamole, the spinach queso and a chicken quesadilla. All were super fresh and delicious. Rolled into town tired and hungry and not in the mood to fight the never-ending lines of trucks that clog Tennessee highways, so I decided to stick close to my hotel and chose Los 3 Amigos. The atmosphere is subdued sorta-Mexican, but OK. It's...."fine". Giant sombreros mixed with metal art, LOL. My server was not particularly attentive, as the "single traveler curse" seemed to be in full effect. Fortunately, they did have NA beer that wasn't ODouls, (Kaliber) so that was a positive start. I asked for a recommendation and selected Mexico City Street Tacos based on her suggestion. I expected the standard store bought corn tortillas to be rolled out, with gobs of cheddar cheese....right? Yea, uh....I was wrong. This was the real deal. Two thin, homemade tortillas cradled each of the 3 tacos, which were heaped with smoky pulled pork, onion, and fresh cilantro. A side of spicy Verde sauce and limes accompanied it. Not a refried bean in sight. The pork was wonderful. Smoky, well seasoned, it was just wonderful, and those tortillas were soooooo tender. The tacos (and the Kaliber) saved this place from a 3 star review. I ordered a side of guac, which was unfortunately not up to the quality of the tacos. Pretty much was pureed avocado. Don't waste your time. Not sure that this place is worth sitting down to dinner but I sure would order the tacos again....to go. read more

The Chile Riano plate was quite saddening. This restaurants concept of a Chile Riano is a chili with a little melted cheese on top. This chili Rihanna covered up ground beef with taco seasoning.. no for the guacamole it was very good. It was more of a pico to Gallo. That's nice chopped avocado. I would have to say the salsa and chips and the avocado. What's the best part of the meal. This is a very Americanized restaurant. as far for the atmosphere, it was very nice. The service was amazing, our waiter was sooooo attentive, and super on top of refills , clearing the table, making sure we were doing okay and not needing anything. the restaurant itself is cute and clean, the staff is doing a great job! Now onto the food, we had the fresh guac, steak fajitas, chicken fajitas, steak tacos, kids grilled chicken, and wow everything was sooooo Good!!! Visiting Rock City and searched for a Mexican restaurant on Yelp with 4 stars minimum. I could tell this restaurant was pretty good by the fact we had to wait 10 minutes on a Tuesday night. Once we got seated the service was fast and the food came out quickly. I was with two of my kids who love queso blanco dip, but in this case it was a bit too runny (see pic). Both my kids ordered bean burritos covered in queso blanco, which was not too runny. Both teen kids thought they were perfect and tasted great. I ordered La Playa Quesadillas. They tasted very good, a combination of chicken spinach mushrooms onions and cheese. I would order it again. See picture. read more
