I'm sharing my personal experience in hopes it helps others avoid the same situation. About 9 1/2 years ago, I hired Mr AC to install a Trane air conditioning system in my home. While the installation itself went smoothly, I recently discovered that the unit was never registered for its manufacturer warranty. This was extremely disappointing because Trane systems typically offer up to 10 years of warranty coverage when properly registered by the installer. Unfortunately, because the system was not registered, it is now out of warranty, and the repair costs fall entirely on me--even though the unit failed at only 9 1/2 years old. I wasn't aware that the registration hadn't been completed and had assumed the installer handled this step as he did with the upstairs AC he installed, as many reputable HVAC companies do. Learning about the missing registration only after the failure has been frustrating and costly. read more

Beware the flat fee. I hired this company last year when a relay went out. They tried to charge me $100 for a $8 part. I called them out on it and they adjusted the price. This year they called me for a service. I explained what had happened last year and they assured me it wouldn't happen again. When my AC went out earlier this month I gave them another chance....stupid! They charged me nearly $900 to replace the blower. I asked them for an itemized breakdown of parts and labor. They told me they don't offer a breakdown, they charge a "flat fee." Translated this means they overcharged me for the parts and don't want me to see the inflated price. Answered the phone after hours. Answered Facebook after hours and then emailed me. They had someone that could have come out right away but it was $50 less to come the next day during hours, so I accepted that. Contractor came out on time, fixed everything in 3 minutes and left. I was very happy, quick and easy. The guy that came out was very polite and experienced. Will use again. If owner ever reads this review, please ask your contractors to wear booties next time on their shoes. That would be the only improvement, otherwise I was very happy. read more

I just had my AC serviced by Mr. AC Cooling and Heating and the tech was Garth L. I am very happy with the service they provided and the awesome communication from beginning to end. Great price, great people and quick service. Garth was super friendly and nice, knew his stuff very well and answered all of my questions in a helpful informative way so I could understand and make a thought out decision. In our 22 years of living in Florida, Mr AC cooling and heating is the worst AC company that we have ever used. We bought and they installed a brand new unit 13 months ago and they have had to come out many many times because unit stops working. When we call them, the customer service representative is is often rude and response time is slow. The technicians who come to the house are friendly and seem knowledgeable, however the fix never lasts long and the unit soon stops working again. The most recent failure was repaired and it was only one week until the the unit stopped working again. When we called it took an hour to get a reply and they could not come out for two days... customer service was rude as usual. Obviously, I would not recommend this company. read more

If I could have a no star rating, I would! Mr. AC installed a new HVAC system in my home in April 2021 for $5,100. From the beginning it never worked right. If I had the thermostat on 74, the room temperature would stay at 78 and not budge, for example. I complained and they changed the thermostat with no success. For months, MR AC was blaming the problem on me, different things I did or did not do, always my fault! The owner came out with the technician months ago and never even bothered to contact me after that visit. My air stopped working Friday, December 12, 2021 and I called approximately 1 pm. I was told they could not come out until late Tuesday afternoon, and I quote "This is Julie at Mr AC just giving you a call back. I wanted to let you know we do not have availability until Tuesday late in the afternoon, but I will need to get a credit card down from you before we can send a technician out there. We will need to get that from you and then we can go from there. If the system is working fine and there is nothing wrong, you will be charged. So if you have any questions, or if you want to go ahead and get this process going. Call us back at 941-343-8888. Thank you." The staff is rude and unprofessional, especially the GM, Jessica! They really have no business selling AC units, because they almost immediately break down, and they blamed me for a host of assanine excuses! Months after my repeated complaints, the owner came out with the technician. He didn't have the decency and respect (or proper intelligence) to get back to me after 2 weeks! My AC is working great thanks to my friend, Marta, who had concern for me and delved into the problem and finally fixed it! My single wall unit was antiquated and finally bit the dust. I had Mr.AC come to evaluate the situation and to determine if my main house system was adequate to cover this most distal portion. In looking for optimum efficiency we decided to go for a mini split unit which will provide both cooling and occasionally heating. They have been upfront and honest in helping me to make this determination. Appointments were timely, staff friendly and efficient. Kyle and James were very good to work with. Prices were competitive with other providers. I highly recommend this company for your Heating/cooling needs. read more

I was told by another A/C company my entire A/C unit needed to be replaced and so I called Mr. AC for a second opinion and glad I did. They replaced some parts but not the whole unit and were very professional. I scheduled a maintenance appointment today and was met by John. He was professional with great customer service skills and completed the necessary maintenance in a short time. I highly recommend John and this company for your air conditioning needs. read more

Every now and then I make a fool of myself by trusting and not questioning appropriately. My previous contractor recommended complete replacement of my system under "suspicious" circumstances and I trusted them. I can't prove wrongdoing but I think everyone has experienced that bad feeling in your gut. Unfortunately I only researched my contractor after the fact to find Yelp reviews that were horrendous - not one review above 1 star with identical stories to mine where replacement was recommended and a second opinion found a $200 fix. I did research to find Mr AC and was very impressed with the reviews - not one with less than 5 stars. Called for a minor issue and they sent Sam by within a couple of hours. Problem fixed and signed up for their service contract and included this call in the contract. Sam is a new member to the team and is very professional, friendly and is comfortable discussing what he's doing for you. Even showed me things I can do myself to avoid minor issues in the future. Feeling very good about these people, and they do "pay-on-line" billing. Great feature for me. read more

We've had extremely poor service from this company since we had our A/C replaced in July 2018. First they showed up 6 hours after they said they would. Two hours later the repairman left because it looked like rain. It took them over two weeks to complete the job. Left a mess in the yard. Failed city inspection. Andy left a nasty message on my voicemail about payment when the bill had been paid. Fast forward a year and the AC is not working. Said it was $700. Lowered to $600 because of warranty and speaking with office manager. paid in September 10th and she stated it would be repaired in a couple days moving us ahead of other jobs if necessary. Still has not been repaired. Communication from this company is horrible. My husband has requested Andy call multiple times and he was given an email address. I would look elsewhere for service and believe the job was never done correctly the first time and I should not have paid for this second service. I would not recommend this company ever. read more

Our experience with Mr AC Cooling and Heating was fantastic. We had a clogged drain line but we didn't know what was wrong. Their AC Technician, Mel, was so kind and patient and took his time (on a Saturday!) to answer all our questions and make sure we had all the information we needed about our system. We are new to the area and didn't know who to call but tried two other places and couldn't get anyone to come. I looked on yelp and saw the reviews that were well deserved and great so I called.
