He apologized for all the inconvenience and gave some of the reasoning as to why the delay had happened, all of which was fair. He addressed more of my concerns in my original review. From what I understood, the carriers are third-party, so they can't really control delays. He understood my frustration about the refund being only about $24 and asked how much would I think is fair. I said $200. He said that's completely fair and ended up zelling me the money right after the phone call. Obviously the move itself was a bit frustrating, but this I think more than made up for it and it was super validating feeling like he understood where I was coming from. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the conversation and the resolution.

They kept me informed throughout the process and were extremely trustworthy and personable, especially when I had to run out of the house to handle something leaving them alone and when I ended up having more items than originally planned for the move. I had one issue with the frankly crappy reassembly of my captain's bed. When the movers left, the bed was bowed, drawers would not close completely and the slats were falling out or not fitting in at all. I reported the problem to Serena and it was corrected promptly. A crew came and reassembled the bed to eliminate the problems. Finally, Serena is the best. She is responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. I would recommend this business almost entirely as a result of the superior service she provided.

They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

It wasn't intentional, but the amount of damage we saw was much more than what I would have been okay with. The furniture and location was difficult however given that everything made it to where they needed to be, I'm sure it could have been done much more carefully. That made this pretty mid tier service. So 3 stars. And that's what we initially put in our review. But then after putting in our claim on damages with ample proof of damages, and also our honest review, my wife received a call from one of the movers asking us to take down the poor review because they would get in trouble with the owners. Now I'm wondering goes on behind the scenes because the good reviews seems much more shady now. How many other reviews got asked to be taken down? They got the move done and did it relatively quick given the difficulty. The price was rather high given the quality of work completed. And given how quick they were to request us to take a poor review down to me deserves an even poorer review. Honestly, if they had taken accountability right away to the damages I would have felt better about a simple 3 star review. I can't in good conscience recommend Zip Moving and Storage.
