After spending many frustrating hours in my garage trying to install trailer brakes myself, I…read morefinally decided to call a professional. It was the best decision I could have made. I needed free-backing drum brakes installed on my boat trailer, along with all the wiring. My trailer originally didn't have brakes, and I thought it would be a simple project--but I was completely wrong. I found this company on Google, gave them a call, and just three days later they came out to do the installation. My first impression was excellent. They were friendly, professional, and even cracked a few jokes while explaining exactly what they were going to do and how long the job would take. Their work truck was clean, they were well-organized, and all three technicians were professional and respectful. I left them working in my garage while I went to work, and when I came home a few hours later, everything was finished. The installation was outstanding. My garage was spotless, the brake system looked professionally installed, and all the wiring was neatly hidden inside the trailer frame instead of hanging underneath. The attention to detail really stood out. I've already put a few hundred miles on the trailer and launched my boat several times, and everything has worked flawlessly. I highly recommend them for any trailer brake installation or trailer repair. I'm extremely happy with the quality of their work. Thank you!

I hadn't done it before, so I asked if I could hang out, watch and learn so I at least know what's going on inside there. Well my wheels didn't have nearly enough grease from the factory so it's good I had them come by, they replaced bearings and adjusted brakes, I'm confident in their work and know I'm safe on the road. Legit the kindest people you could ask for, thorough and know their stuff. I ask questions, they can answer them and explain what they're looking at and looking for. There's a reason their reviews are great, this is who you want to take care of your vehicles.

Despite it being the "holiday…read moreweek" and it being a rainy Friday, and the fact that my RV issue was not an emergency, not only did Filberto come to my location in North Hollywood, he fixed the issue quickly. I had spoken to a few others. Either their listing said they serviced NoHo, but didn't, they could not come out until the following week, or their quote was very high. Filberto could easily have taken me for a ride, by saying the repair was what I had thought it was and replaced a valve that I thought we had broken. I also asked him about a number of things I had questions about, as I have one owned the RV for a few months and I still trying to learn all the things I have to learn about running and taking care of an RV....which is A LOT for a middle-aged women who lacks any mechanical knowledge. It's SO nice for me to know I have found a respectable, experienced (he's been doing RV repairs since the 1980s!), affordable and honest RV repairman. I take care of my things, and I have plans to use the RV more in the future -- so I'm thrilled that I found Filiberto. Anyhow, I can't say enough good things about him -- and for the record, I wrote this review. No ChatGPT here. I didn't even run my review though ChatGPT. Don't let the em dash fool you. That's just what us folks who were educated long ago learned in school, back when they taught grammar!

A few Considerations before you email him based on my experience. 1) You get what you pay for. Colin is not cheap but to be honest with the level and quality of his work he could be charging even more. He was great when walking me through what was needed for safety and items of repair that could wait a season or two if you're on a tighter budget. No pressure to upsell and made the whole process easy. 2) Keyword is "Retro" - If you have a repair for a never RV/van I would highly recommend you look elsewhere as Colin specializes in Retro/VINTAGE RV's. I'm sure he can repair the newer ones but he shines with anything pre- 1990's. 3) Use email - Colin works most of the time from mobile or in his shop and is hard to reach on the phone. Use his email to give him as much detail as possible on your repair. This helped me as I was able to see the breakdown of what was needed and I was able to keep them for my records on future repairs. Thank you Colin for all the work you have done to the Tiger, can't wait to start the next phase of restorations with you!

I do not even know where to begin.. Colin (& Julia) are just simply amazing! They really saw our…read morevision of what 24 ft of living space could really be... He transformed a failed DIY attempt/ neglected nearly 60 year old airstream into what our children call the "first class" off grid camping experience that can comfortably sleep 6 with the pet... He put the materials to test to make sure it can withstand our crew (note we have boys & a high energy terrier) ... the dinette fits us all & transforms to a king size bed at night... This rig has turned out to be an oasis that we all just want to be in all the time. Colin is a master mind.. we found him on a decade old airstream forum that someone said he really knows his stuff & Julia does all of the coordinating... She deserves a shout out as well! Colin noticed everything from rusted out chassis to making sure that our windows could be blacked out as we have a very light sleeper in our family. Colin was even was willing to help us out with diagnosing issues that had nothing to do with his work on the trailer! He redid EVERYTHING from frame to solar panels...Even hand welded the rivets...note this takes a substantial amount of time to do.. so this project took nearly 2 years to complete & we knew what we were getting into with the cost for a project of this size... So many quotes that we got were half the amount of detail and they really seemed like they were going to rush it/ charge a small fortune pointlessly with a lot of unknowns that left us feeling uneasy about it ... We didn't want something like that, so we kept looking and looking until we found the right person for the job. You cannot find a better & more qualified person for your airstream. With that... any person who knows airsteams, knows that we airstream people are very particular about the detail put into our curved walls, especially those that are vintage... They just don't make them like they used to. We are so happy with the renovation result and we highly recommend them for your complex job! If you want it accurately restored to the era, they can definitely get it done :) If you are like we are and value the time & thoughtfulness put into a job well done, these are by far the people for you. We will be back when the kids grow for the remodel to fit our retired life needs (assuming Colin is still up for another challenge at that time) They are truly gems!

I was immediately able to connect with Greg and felt confident proceeding with him. His communication was beyond excellent and I had a sense of relief that he cared for the work they were planning to do. It was a very honest decision to go with him and his crew. The work was done in a timely manner and his pricing was better than the others. I highly suggest to hit up Rocket for any custom design or product needs. I will continue to use them for any future work or recommendations. They are one of the legit and honest companies out there. Thank you Greg and Dennis.

This review will echo what others have already said but it bears repeating (pun intended)…read more My husband and I were referred to Bear Trailersports when we were having trouble getting our new tow vehicle to level up with our Airstream. Despite having two shanks to work with, we were stumped. Vic probably could have just told us what he believed was best and done a quick job. Instead, he thoughtfully assessed the situation and took the time to educate us as we went. Teach a man (or woman) to fish as they say. He's incredibly patient, a wealth of knowledge, and a good teacher. Vic and Eric moved the hitch head twice and ultimately arrived at the right configuration for our setup. I wish we had found Bear Trailersports years ago since it's right around the corner from where we keep our Airstream. Frankly though, we would drive our coach to him even if we weren't nearby. There's just a level of confidence that you feel with the process when you're working with people who seem to care and know what they're doing. If you want a small business run by informed and friendly people this place is that. We look forward to working with Vic again when our coach comes due for service.

So... we had our axles, electrical, brakes, hitch, etc replaced... Or so we thought. They gave up on subfloor as it just needed too much work (also that plywood was way too thin) We knew it needed more fixes and Vic explained that to us. However.. flash forward ... We had a reputable company redo everything... fix it to where we never have to be plugged in.... and they commented that while they did "rebuild" not replace axles, they left the shock absorbers (rusted and 60 years old) in... Also, the torque is way off... 2 years ago...the axles that were rebuilt were taken a part.... It takes maybe an hour to do the shocks... Not sure why that was done that way... And it is costing us way more to fix now.... So... 3 stars because we got what we paid for. Minus 2 stars because of above mentioned work. Had we known, we'd be okay with it... It's just one of those things you don't notice until you are towing and wondering why trailer is bouncing more than it should, because ... We paid for new axles and never asked the chassis company to inspect it until now.... Most people would lose their minds and file a complaint with the BAR. I'm just going to assume that Vic is a super nice guy and some employee thought the old shocks were good enough to use since the trailer was empty... I hope in the future they plan for these things. It's just disappointing.
