Alright.. nearly two years ago friend of ours with an airstream recommended Bear Trailersports to fix some major towing components of our gutted airstream... So... we had our axles, electrical, brakes, hitch, etc replaced... Or so we thought. They gave up on subfloor as it just needed too much work (also that plywood was way too thin) We knew it needed more fixes and Vic explained that to us. However.. flash forward ... We had a reputable company redo everything... fix it to where we never have to be plugged in.... and they commented that while they did "rebuild" not replace axles, they left the shock absorbers (rusted and 60 years old) in... Also, the torque is way off... 2 years ago...the axles that were rebuilt were taken a part.... It takes maybe an hour to do the shocks... Not sure why that was done that way... And it is costing us way more to fix now.... So... 3 stars because we got what we paid for. Minus 2 stars because of above mentioned work. Had we known, we'd be okay with it... It's just one of those things you don't notice until you are towing and wondering why trailer is bouncing more than it should, because ... We paid for new axles and never asked the chassis company to inspect it until now.... Most people would lose their minds and file a complaint with the BAR. I'm just going to assume that Vic is a super nice guy and some employee thought the old shocks were good enough to use since the trailer was empty... I hope in the future they plan for these things. It's just disappointing. read more

This review will echo what others have already said but it bears repeating (pun intended). My husband and I were referred to Bear Trailersports when we were having trouble getting our new tow vehicle to level up with our Airstream. Despite having two shanks to work with, we were stumped. Vic probably could have just told us what he believed was best and done a quick job. Instead, he thoughtfully assessed the situation and took the time to educate us as we went. Teach a man (or woman) to fish as they say. He's incredibly patient, a wealth of knowledge, and a good teacher. Vic and Eric moved the hitch head twice and ultimately arrived at the right configuration for our setup. I wish we had found Bear Trailersports years ago since it's right around the corner from where we keep our Airstream. Frankly though, we would drive our coach to him even if we weren't nearby. There's just a level of confidence that you feel with the process when you're working with people who seem to care and know what they're doing. My over-lander trailer was rolled. The frame was bent and cracked. Vic told me he couldn't give my a exact price because more than what can be see may need to be fixed. We were referred to Bear Trailersports through an employee of an RV storage place, while we were on the road experiencing a broken leaf spring on one of the axles of our travel trailer. We called them again as we experienced a tire failure, with a recommendation to replace the hangers for the leaf springs. We were miles from home and unsure what to do. Vic generously helped us figure out what to do, saving us a great deal of money. Upon our return, we made an appointment to have the work evaluated, bearings replaced and brakes evaluated. The guys at Bear Trailersports are AWESOME. This last week I was towing my toyhauler from Fresno to Camp Pendleton for a family beach trip. When I got to the 405 south 5 split my electric brakes faulted and didn't work at all. I pulled over at my cousins home nearby but was not able to figure it out. After calling 7 mobile RV techs Who couldn't help me, I stumbled on Bear trailers and figured I'd try. They immediately took me in given my urgent need for help and promptly diagnosed a very complex brake issue which ended up being a short in the OEM trailer brake wiring and magnet system. By the next morning they had me up and back on the road for a very reasonable and fair price. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE and overall just friendly dudes who know a crap load about trailers. Super professional and in my opinion top notch! I highly recommend them to anyone needing trailer work. Honestly, next time I have trailer issues (hopefully not emergency!) I will probably tow my rig down from Fresno. I wish more pro's were this good and friendly. I called Bear Trailer and spoke with the owner Vic describing some issues I was having with my boat trailer and he took the time to educate me on several different issues that it could be. We made an appointment to bring the trailer in and he gave me worse case scenarios since my trailer hasn't been serviced in several years. The next day he called me and gave me the great news that it just needed very basic parts that should have been replaced years ago. He could have very easily took advantage of the situation and "replaced" parts that "needed" to be changed. Wow, honestly 5-stars doesn't do this place justice! I can't thank the Bear Trailersports team enough for helping us out of a serious jam. We had a leaf spring break on our boat trailer right as we started our trip from Sherman Oaks to Long Beach. We were never going to make it over the pass with our trailer in the condition it was in. We looked up Bear Trailer, they came highly rated (with food reason). We called the team and asked if we could send photos and video of the spring to see if they had the piece and what they could do to help. We spoke to Vic - an absolutely legend. He walked us through our options and checked his inventory to see if he had anything that could replace our old spring. Unfortunately our trailer was older and he didn't have the piece in stock. This is where Vic stepped in and seriously earned a bonus or a raise. He called around various trailer repair shops and found a company that could source a leaf spring for us that fit the model trailer we had. Honestly this saved the trip. I had a crazy mishap driving home from the lake. My leaf spring failed and caused quite a bit of horrendous damage to my boat trailer including a totally bent axel, fenders, blown out tires, damage to both my rims and frame damage. (Thankfully no damage to my boat). Vic was great on getting me back on the water faster than estimated and he and his crew did a great job fixings things and making my trailer stronger than it was pre-mishap.
