Honest review - we took our 5th wheel trailer here for two items: 1. We wanted to get our front stairs changed to a different style. 2. The RV skirting on one side was bulging out along the top where it is supposed to sit flush against the body of the trailer and we wanted to get it fixed so that it was flush and caulked against water damage. For item 1: We paid $450 in labor for the stair replacement. They had to cut a piece of skirting and the placement is nice but when we got it home and opened the stairs we noticed they left two of the attachment bolts loose. My husband had to tighten those before we could properly use the steps. For item 2: We paid $400 to "repair" the skirting and then 2 weeks later it was doing the same thing! The "adjustment" that was performed to repair the issue did not work. Now don't get me wrong - I know they took a few hours when they attempted to fix it but it wasn't a real fix! It looked almost as bad as when we first brought it in for the repair. My husband took it back to this shop and was told there is nothing they can do unless we want to pay even more money for another "repair" attempt and buy a whole new skirting part. Called them on Wednesday to see if they could get a part for my trailer. Got there on Friday after work and walked in around 4:30pm and one of the guys there greeted me and I told him what I was looking for and he said ok, and said be back in a minute. Well, I waited for almost 25 minutes and he never came back and no one came to check on me. I walked out and left. Went down the street and decided to call and no answer. They lost my business and I don't think I'll be recommending them or going back. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! After we specifically asked for a certain coupler, Ha, the manager, claimed he misunderstood and put the crapiest $50 coupler back on. I assume that's so they can keep more of the insurance money. We sent him the picture of the coupler we wanted so it's pretty clear what our request was. Manager Ha also refused to fix the damaged aluminum skin and tubing that got dented appropriately. When we refused the work and told him to put the trailer back in his shop. He states that he would not move it off the street and it would get towed that evening. so we had to tow the trailer to another repair shop to get it fixed. Worst work and worst customer service I've ever experienced. How unprofessional! read more

I brought me trailer in to have it serviced because I had several problems with the electrical system. When I brought it in, I informed them that both the converter and the refrigerator were bad. I also emphasized that the battery drained quickly and I wanted them to do a full diagnostic. (I paid extra for the full diagnostics.) After their review, they told me that the only problem was the converter and refrigerator. They found no other issues. Their work to replace these items was fine. They also installed a battery shutoff switch, gratis. (Thanks!) While It turns out the the battery still drains quickly. When I contacted them to let them known there was still an issue, I was told by the business owner that 8 hours on a battery was pretty good. He suggested that I check the water levels in the battery. But they would be happy to look at it again. So prior to bringing it in again, I tried to educate myself on the electrical system. After a few days of testing, I was able to narrow down where the problem was. It turned out that there were two resistors installed on the circuits that feed the LED lights. These resisters were installed wrong and they were causing the drain on the battery--even when the LED lights were not in use. These two resisters were in plain sight when you change out the converter. So I'm confused why they did not address the obvious problem -- well obvious to a novice who was just learning about the electrical system. Now that I am educated about this type of issue, I will definitely not use their professional services in the future. Communication skills of the front office staff is also lacking. read more

WOW! What can I say? Stuck on the side of the 14 FWY with a broken suspension on my fifth wheel (trailer frame was twisted and torn). Ramsey, the owner of this business, pulled over to ask if I needed help. 7 hours later he had me back on the road. The details of the repair, not as important as the fact that he went completely out of his way to get me going (including a 60-70 mile round trip to his shop in Simi to get the proper tools for the repair) All this on a Friday night when he was almost home with his son in the car. We had our horse trailer serviced there which may not be their specialty. It took a lot longer then we expected- literally weeks- and was outrageously expensive. The guys are really nice and I think their work is good but I think they are pricey and wish that I had been told the prices before the work had been done and I was emailed a bill. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! I contacted Garrett/Ha/Ramsey in March 2021 to purchase a trailer for my upcoming cross country move to relocate my family. Ha and Ramsey were very helpful, They didn't have any trailers in stock so they mentioned that they could order one for me that would be there in 8 to 12 weeks. This seemed pretty good since our move wasn't until the end of July/Early August. I checked in with Ha via text message a couple times and he always responded back to me. The beginning of June came around and the 12 weeks were up. I texted Ha and I never got a response, about a week later I got a message from Ramsey that due to the pandemic there were delays in turn around. I still had about 8 weeks before the move so I let it ride. When I hadn't heard back from them in July I messaged Ramsey that my deadline had arrived and I would have to make other arrangements, They offered me another trailer that was similar but not exactly what I needed. The next day I decided to take a look at the trailer because I realized that delivery of the one I ordered probably wasn't going to happen when I needed it. When I called they told me that they already had it sold...... I decided to make back up arrangements and schedule a mover, This ended up costing me 15k, I also was going to tow the trailer with my truck but ended up having to install a tow bar on my RV to flat tow my truck which cost me an additional 7K. I called Ramsey and asked him for a refund of my $7500 deposit and he got defensive and told me "Review the contract you signed!" He had verbiage in there that released them of liability due to certain circumstances and that any disputes must be taken to arbitration rather than the courts. I ended up calling the manufacturer and spoke directly with the Rep that took the order from Garrett. When I explained to him my situation and that they quoted me an 8-12 week turn around he was shocked and stated that they hadn't had less than a 6 month turn around on orders for the last year. I was pissed and at that time I felt I had been scammed for my deposit. Garrett/Ha/Ramsey knew all along that they could not make my deadline with this order yet they took the order and my deposit anyway. It is now the middle of November and I have not heard from anyone at Garrett. I feel they knew that they would be able to keep my deposit and I would be forced into having to purchase the trailer even though I no longer needed it, also I am in Florida now. I think this company has unethical practices and I will make sure all my friends and everyone I work with in the movie industry knows to never buy from this company. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I brought a third party hitch that was rated for my truck as I've moved into the camper world. Ha and the team were working on the instal. It took a bit of work to prepare my truck for the new hitch due to salt corrosion etc from dropping my boat over the years. After spending ample time on the job, turns out the hitch I bought wouldn't fit despite being marked and rated for my truck even according to their system. They were supportive, helpful and didn't charge me a dime for their time as the job couldn't be completed. I will return for any towing/hitch camper trailer needs. More than fair! read more

Under new ownership since April 2014. Mike dropped everything he was doing as I walked in to ask if he had a cargo trailer for sale. He took me to the office and spent at least 30 minutes inquiring as to what type of trailer, intended use, etc. to help him in his search. I gave him my info and he told me he would let me know when something came in. Great guy, friendly and knowledgeable, and awesome customer service. 2 experiences: First was to place airbags in my truck: I called, and gave the make and model of my truck, since I had no idea what kind of airbag would work or be 'best'. I explained what I needed if for, and had them order it. When it came in, I arranged to drop off my truck and get picked up by a friend. Several hours later, they called and said they had ordered the wrong one-it wouldn't fit with the hitch I had. While they hadn't asked for the type of hitch I had when they ordered the airbag, the person did note the type of hitch and ask if they had put it in when I dropped off the truck (they hadn't). It would have been more professional to ask the type of hitch prior to ordering the airbags. It took two more scheduled days to get the airbags placed. They did a very good job, and did give me a small break on the price. Second experience a week later: I brought my trailer in to have some work done on it-the dealership had placed some horse ties on incorrectly and the ties warped the side of the trailer. The guys at the shop shifted the horse ties-doing a fantastic job in the placement- and fixing the holes left over from the dealer. They did a really good job. I will be coming back, and recommending you to my friends. read more

Man this is what a Simi Valley business is all about. I recently purchased a brand new forest river travel trailer from an RV dealer. I have had problems with the lights since the day I had it. The only issue was the dealership is far away. I called Garett Trailers to see if they could help and perhaps the dealer would reimburse. Bubba (I hope I'm getting his name right, I'm not good with names) took the call and told me to come to the shop right then and they had just opened. I arrived and realized how cool this was because they were very busy that day. Bubba stopped what he was doing, walked over to greet me , immediately got under my truck and started to diagnose the problem. When he had to step away for a moment another gentlemen stepped in to finish the job (Mike I think). They fixed a bad wiring job from the dealership in 30 minutes. When I asked to pay they said don't worry about and told me to have a nice day! Made my day! Thanks guys. Highly recommend this shop!
