Tonight I tried Mozza for the first time. I decided to give it a try because I wanted to buy three gift cards my staff for Christmas. I finally found parking after driving around a couple times. I walked into Mozza 2Go and was kicked out to wait for my online order but when I said I also wanted to purchase three gift cards I got to stand inside. I got the meatball pizza and Nancy's Chopped Salad for my son and I to try. I am not a huge pizza fan but this was delicious. I NEVER eat the crust but this time I ate all of it. The pizza was great! The salad was another story! The salad was awful. We threw most of it away because it was too bitter. I enjoy eating radicchio but it was too bitter and it overpowered the rest of teh salad. Just ordered some food here last night which my brother picked up! Burrata caprese (still taste the same as the pizzeria) they give you all the components to make it so that's great & it doesn't get soggy or anything... The burrata is packed separately even the salt & pesto! Squash blossom pizza with instructions for reheating for which I found to be a little chewy after so I'd rather go to the pizzeria & have it fresh because I know its perfection when they bring it out. Eating food at Mozza2go was the best way to spend my birthday. When I arrived, I saw Nancy Silverton working the line, which felt like seeing a unicorn. She either made my pizzas or supervised some else doing so, because my pizzas were 10/10. Normally, Italian food for me is so so, but I changed my mind after eating this heavenly food. The ingredients were so fresh, distinct to the taste, and expertly cooked - from the crispness and pillowy-ness of the pizza crust, to the sweet tang of the sauce, to the mozzarella, which bursts with flavor. The fennel sausage pizza - one of my favs. The bright acidity of the fennel cut the richness of the sausage perfectly. The funghi pizza - the mushrooms were roasted, making them so aromatic. The Bianca- cheese and sage were so rich and nutty. Meatlovers - The guanciale and salame, all the meats had a distinct richness and savoriness that complemented each other. Even the basil on the Margherita pizza was so unique. The MEATBALLS - wow the best I have ever head. It had so many levels of flavor - all like levels of stairs. To die for. The butterscotch bundino pudding - sexy, sinful, and yet regal tasting. Bite of salt cuts the richness of the butterscotch, which is perfect for someone like me who doesn't like things super sweet. I licked the entire lid and bowl the bundino pudding was served in. I am a die hard Food Network fan and have wished to taste the food of such renowned chefs. I truly felt honored to have eaten Nancy's food that day. Nothing from Mozza2go was bad or even mediocre, which I truly never say. I will remember this birthday forever. Wow! This place is amazing, pricey, but amazing! I called ahead of course and when I got there the order was ready. Note that the entrance to Mozza2Go is on Melrose, not Highland, I walked the wrong way initially looking for the door. We had the Fennel Sausage and Bacon, etc. pizzas. They were both amazing! The crust is cooked to perfection and the blend of ingredients and toppings mind blowing. We also had the farro, cucumbers, tomatoes, and feta. The price point is ridiculous for the quality and quantity you receive. 40 dollars for a personal pizza and 3 meatballs? Furthermore the pizza wasn't impressive in any way. The sauce was thin and lacked a richness or complex tanginess. The cheese was greasy. The crust, the selling point, was nothing special. Three stars when years ago I'd give them 10 if I could. I was really craving the fennel sausage pizza which I recall was out of this world. Mozza has some of the best pizza in LA! Yesterday we ordered the funghi, the burrata, and the brussel sprouts- all were excellent! The ingredients are high quality and have an elegant simplicity. I realized after ordering that the brussel sprout pizza had pork on it and my husband and I don't eat pork. I called them to remedy and they easily accommodated making the pizza sans pork. It was still delicious. The order was ready perfectly on time so it wasn't just sitting there getting cold nor did we have to wait excessively. We also ordered the budino which is my absolute favorite desert! Highly recommend it- so light and not too sweet. I also like how the chef has a note on the pizza boxes to not reheat the pizza in the microwave but to put in the oven to keep the quality/integrity of the pizza. Love this place, love the owner. Discovered it on a cold winter evening on our way from Santa Barbara. Horrible traffic, and ordered just before going over Laurel Canyon, so it would arrive just after we got in. We needed comfort food and boy did we get it. Long story short: 3 words: Bus Bench Bunch. You had to be there to understand. Long story long: A few people had a Blackboard Eats 30% off coupon that was expiring, so on the day it expired, a few other Yelpers and I decided to get together and half a "Mozza2Go Sidewalk Pizza Party". So what we did was paired up with someone (coupon good up to $100 purchase) and put in our orders that day. It was raining all morning, so I personally was wondering if it was still going on. I never got a call or a message, so I assume it was. As most of you know, Mozza2Go relatively just opened right next to Osteria Mozza as a means for people who wanted the pizza from Pizzeria but didn't have the time to wait for table and sit down. The place is pretty small. You can probably sardine not even 10 people in there. They have a few items spread throughout for sale, like a small jar of truffle salt for $40 and various other items. I gave the guy the name, paid, and was on my way. It was pretty painless and easy to get in and out (that's what she said). I had ordered the meat lovers pizza and a butterscotch budino. Came out to about $20, which yeah, considering the 30% off, sounded about right. The pizza are in custom sized cardboard box with a Mozza logo sticker in which there was a blank space to write the name of the pizza and some re-heating instructions which doubled as a seal. The pizza was as good as I remembered it. The crust is still my favorite part. The budino is still one of the best desserts I've ever had. I mean, it's so simple, yet so good. The salt totally brings out the flavor of the entire dessert. Gosh... I want one now just thinking about it. They need to market that ish to like Whole Foods or something.... So anyway, back to the "Bus Bench Bunch" thing. So since this is merely a to-go, walk in, pay, and go kind of place. There was no where to sit down. Instead of standing and eating like at the Montana location of Father's Office, we spotted a rather larger bus bench literally right across the street. We propped ourselves down, getting a drink at the Mobil Station right there. It was a sidewalk party. Literally. I seriously wonder what some people were thinking as they were driving by. You totally had to be there. If you really knew us, you would totally know this is something we would do. It's how we roll. I know my 3 star rating doesn't make it look like I am a fan, but really this place is A-OK in my book. The good: Their burrata pizza is fantastic. The burrata comes in a little package and you put it on yourself. However much you want! The burrata is incredible, the best quality. I also like knowing that I am getting great quality ingredients. The freshest. Plus you can order their very famous bundino. It's not my favorite but everyone else goes gaga for it. The bad: It takes FOREVER. Like it literally feels like I ordered the day before when the pizza finally arrives. It's not uncommon to take an hour and 30 minutes. I don't like that all the vegetables are served cold. Some are fine that way but most would be better room temperature or slightly warm. I know, I could warm them up myself, but the problem is that it takes so long to get there that I do not have the patience to wait another 20 minutes for my veggies to warm up in the oven (I don't own a microwave). A nice round of applause is due Mario Battali and Nancy Silverton for expanding their franchise into an accessible and affordable outpost to their hugely successful Osteria Mozza/Pizzeria Mozza. I had to check it out. Butterscotch Budino was burned into my subconscious, and yes they have it here!! I ordered a sampling of dishes to share with my husband including the whitebean bruschetta, Nancy's Chopped Salad, a Proscuitto di Parma Pizza, the aforementioned Budino and a jam cookie. The Chopped Salad was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had. I have to admit I was puzzled by the small ammt of chopped iceberg, and thought that they would do better to mix in a leafier lettuce (there was some radicchio), but the mozzarella slices mixed with superb salami, garbanzos, sweet cherry tomato, sliced pepporcinis and a generous sprinkling of dried of oregano, and thyme made an exquisite melange of flavors. The whitebean bruschetta featured thin toasted crostini brushed with olive oil, caramelized red onion and a generous dollop of crushed whitebeans topped with a drizzle of olive oil and a few sprigs of fresh thyme. It was as beautiful as it was delicious, and very filling. The pizza was pretty good. The crust and sauce were superb, however the prosciutto made the pizza overly salty for me. I realize that's the equivalent of saying that sugar makes a cake too sweet, but my palate wasn't prepared for that much salt. I'd go with a different pizza next time. I'm sorry to say the Budino did not completely live up to my expectations. The thick, creamy pudding was topped with caramel sauce and fresh cream. Upon my first bite I immediately tasted sea salt which, in theory is supposed to enhance the flavor of the caramel, but it shouldn't be a focal point. I'm going to reserve final judgement of this dish until I can experience it as it's meant to be served in the restaurant. Overall I was very pleased with the superb quality of ingredients, presentation, the store, service, etc, and I look forward to sampling other items from the menu. Absolutely HORRIBLE! After 4 nights in the hospital while driving her home, my wife craved good pizza. She'd read good things about Mozza2Go (after our experience those yelpsters must be either family or on the payroll). So wifey, replete with many stitches and medication wanted a simple but good pizza Margherita and a good salad. So me, being her loyal guy for 30+ years and on my first day of being nurse, acted on said desires. Simple, you'd think. I ordered a Margherita and a Tricolore salad and a Funghi Misti pizza to boot. Look, we're foodies. We cook, we drink, we enjoy. Need to state some of this crap to reject the restaurant's "they don't know Jack" position. We know Jack. We've enjoyed Jack in Italy, Spain, France, Amsterdam, Norway, Denmark..... First, the Margherita was just shameful. Very pedestrian red sauce and some cheese and what Mozza calls "Sicilian Basil".... Forget that they left the outer 2 inches of the crust without cheese or sauce on each side.......maybe that's just to insure a little extra profit. Their pizzas are small, maybe 12" in diameter, so 2" without cheese, sauce, etc. is way too much. No offense meant for the wonderful Sicilian people, but the "basil" was about as flavorful as day old water cress and about that size. What makes a good Margherita is the flavor blend of wonderful basil with the other ingredients. This was just awful. Shame on them. See exhibit A, a photo of a slice. Next, the Funghi Misti aka mixed mushroom pizza. This tasted okay, but suffered from the same lack of coverage. I know that there is a water shortage here in LA. Is there also an ingredients shortage? Applicable to both items was the extreme excess of salt. Last, the salad.....WOW $14 ? Really? Take a handful of mixed trendy greens, add a bit of frisee and 8 Belgian Endive leaves. Next add a small container of perhaps 2 ounces of decent dressing, a heaping tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese, a tablespoon of crunchy croutons and there you have a nice $9 salad. I know, the owners have to be able to make the payments on their Bentleys. It's not the first time and won't be the last time that I throw away $50 on trying an overhyped, egocentric eaterie......Truth be told that we had lunch at Mozza proper maybe 10 years ago....another saltfest....I think I wrote a review on the saltiest sausage ever.....Note to chefs and investors: Yes, salt sells drinks. Drinks are profit centers. BUT it takes no skill to add salt to food. It does take skill to prepare wonderfully tasty food with little or not added salt. Most but not all of your patrons are sufficiently physically fit and intelligent enough to add salt on their own. When I read that Mozza was opening a separate takeout counter, my heart did little pitter patters. The opportunity to eat the most delicious pizza in LA without the hassle of waiting for a table, in the comfort of my own home, was thrilling to say the least. Plus, my grandma (who doesn't leave the house that often) has wanted to try it, and now I could bring it to her. Hooray! I called Mozza around 6:30 pm on a Sunday to place an order -- they quoted me about 30 minutes. There was a bit of traffic so I got there about an hour after I placed the order. Everything was ready to go, except they said they ran out of butterscotch budino (one of the best desserts I've ever had). Quelle horreur! The nice lady at the counter said I could wait another 10 minutes and the pastry chef would bring some over. Well...it's nice to know that everything is freshly made, but since I had placed the order over an hour before, I really didn't want to wait for it. Clearly, the quality of take out is NEVER going to be the same as eating it fresh out of the oven...that said, everything was still quite delicious. We ordered a huge sampler: -- marinated olives: I don't eat olives, but my brother devoured these. -- chicken liver bruschetta: OMG, so fresh, so rich...love the lemon and parsley in this -- tastes so fresh -- mozza caprese: the best roasted tomatoes ever, with burrata and fresh pesto...need I say more? -- pizzas: fennel sausage, funghi misti, goat cheese & bacon & leek: all were very fresh. They put a warning on the box not to microwave to reheat, but to put in the oven at 350 for 12 minutes. Unlike Rachel M, I thought the pizza was just average. We had a Margherita and a Sausage & Mushroom pizza. The ingredients were definitely fresh, but the flavors weren't orgasmic to say the least. The Caprese Salad wasn't bad. The combo of the cherry tomato, mozzarella, basil and pesto worked well. Portions are on the smaller side. Hmm, I'm torn about this place. Don't get me wrong: the food is still really good, but I'm just not sold on the whole 'delivery' thing and eating mozza at home. Besides, it's pricey. $55 spent on one pizza, a salad, and a tuna sandwich? Was it worth it? Not so sure... Nah, I don't think so! The pie was good and the crust was still crunchy, but overall a little cold. Nancy's chopped salad was tightly packed into a "way too small" plastic container which made it very difficult to eat, let alone toss with the dressing. The tuna sandwich was okay. So altho it's nice to have the convenience of Mozza2go, it doesn't compare with eating it there. The value factor just isn't happening! Would I order delivery again? Probably.. Is it worth it? Not. Had to get in a special Leap Year review! Mozza2Go is the next best thing to Pizzeria Mozza. Of course the pizza will never be as good as it is when you're dining in but it comes pretty darn close. Plus, if you bring it home, it remains pretty warm (15 minute drive for me) in that cardboard box. Then you take it out of the box and stick it in the oven (the sticker on the box says microwaving is a major faux pas) and in a few minutes, it's piping hot and the crust is way more crispy for those of us that like a nice crisp crunch to our pizza. I went with the Meat Lover's pizza and it totaled to just under $22. I called about 25 minutes before I got there and it was ready to go almost right away. Sunday parking is pretty good in the neighborhood one street over behind the restaurant. The signs say it's restricted Mon-Sat. In-and-out, no fuss, and delicious. If you're a fan of the restaurant and if you don't have the time or can't make a reservation for Pizzeria Mozza, I highly suggest giving Mozza2go a try! read more

Not the best service - always have to wait (which kind of defeats the purpose of to-go orders right?) and the food is usually not kept hot for you if you're a little late. I feel like for the price of the food, I get nice ambience and great service inside the restaurant, but to pay $35 for just two individual sized pizzas and get lame service? Nah. read more

I love Mozza, but we have had some unfortunate experiences with the 2Go version. Like once they said "half an hour" and when we showed up, our pizza was pretty much already cold. On Sunday, we were told half an hour and decided to go after only 20 minutes. And our pizza was already waiting. And the girl who was running the counter was pretty frazzled and confused. I asked her on the phone if the mortadella painini came with a tapenade or any kind of sauce (because I thought I remembered that it did). She read me the ingredients listed on the menu and said it was just meat, cheese, and bread. I didn't think that she knew what she was talking about, but I decided not to order it. Then, when I arrived, I tried again and I was trying to be polite. I asked her if she ever had the sandwich or if she was just assuming that it came with only the ingredients listed on the menu. Or maybe they had changed the sandwich's ingredients? She said, "Oh, I don't know, I just started." Oh. Well. My mistake. I guess if you just started, then forgive me for bothering you. That's certainly no reason for you to investigate my question or actually learn the menu so you can answer your customer's questions correctly instead of guessing. I guess, if I want non-cold pizza or service from someone who is familiar with the menu, I'll just wait for a reservation next door. read more

CAPSULE: extensive menu of seemingly artisan pizzas and other Italian sundries. Delivery is a nice touch. However, the pizza is not up to snuff with (SNOBBY NY COMMENT) other high end artsy pizza joints, especially ones in NYC. High priced too, crust is not anything different than a slightly more worked on Pizza Hut consistency VERDICT: Pros: expensive and not so good. Cons: expensive and not so good. Ordered two (margerita and the sausage/peppers) for a game. Cold when it showed up. The cheese was unremarkable cheap stuff. The crusts were not crispy, not doughy, not anything really. My sausage pie was greasy. Flavor was just bleh. Nothing close to Keste in NYC or other similar places. On a positive note, the delivery guy was nice. read more

If Mozza2Go didn't require a significant time commitment (for take-out, anyway), I might be tempted to make myself a semi-regular despite costs. I love Pizzeria Mozza, and the convenience of this little take-out annex is attractive indeed. Matt B. and I decided to order Mozza for a Saturday evening at home, with the extra incentive of an expiring Blackboard Eats coupon for 30% off. Blackboard Eats offers Mozza2Go coupons once in a while, and they are highly desirable, as these things go. We called ahead and made the drive, and with two people in the car we didn't even bother to look for parking. I went inside and faced a small wait to pick up our pies. Service was friendly enough, and the process was painless. While I waited I browsed the various gourmet items and Mozza-prepared snacks and pantry goods for sale. For our dinner, I ordered the white anchovy pizza, and Matt ordered the classic Margherita. I love Pizzeria Mozza (which I've already reviewed), and as all fans know, the crust is the key component. It's thin in the middle with tall, fluffy crusts, and it strikes the right balance between chew and crisp all the way through. I've enjoyed every pie I've had from Mozza, and the white anchovy was no exception. It came cheeseless, with a hearty tomato sauce, topped with Fresno chiles and oily fillets of white anchovy, about two to a slice. This was delicious, salty with a spicy smack, the anchovies meaty and thick with briny flavor. They came marinated in something tart and citrusy that really carried through and infused each bite with acidic brightness. If anchovies aren't your thing, you can never go wrong with the Mozza Margherita, a stellar version of the mozzarella, tomato, and basil classic. A Pizzeria Mozza meal is never complete without the iconic butterscotch budino, ready to go in a plastic container. The thick, luscious budino is irresistible in this ready-made form, complete with that sticky salted caramel sauce and a dense dollop of cream. I did miss the Maldon sea salt flakes, but nothing else about the budino leaves room for complaint. Mozza2Go also has several small pastries for take-out, including a mini loaf of olive oil cake, which Matt enjoyed after his supper. Mozza2Go is pricey and far enough that we won't go often without some special inducement or occasion. That said, I'm happy it's there for those times, or for when we crave Pizzeria Mozza on short notice. read more
